“Green” is the New Black

Keira Knightley in Atonement

Perhaps, it all started out with the newly-crowned “Best Film Costume of All Time”, the bias-cut emerald green dress worn by Keira Knightly in the highly-acclaimed film, Atonement designed by costume designer, Jacqueline Durran. Yes, you hear me. That dress beat classic favourites such as Marilyn Monroe’s white dress from The Seven Year Itch, and Audrey Hepburn’s black Givenchy dress from Breakfast At Tiffany’s in a survey by Sky Movies and British InStyle magazine.

How did that happen? You tell me. But, Fash-E! is seeing green on the Hollywood red carpets since late 2007. We say it’s a trend to watch out, fashionistas.

Same Same but Different?

If a dress looks good, it’s okay to share the spotlight. Jessica Alba and Mary J. Blige are both spotted in the emerald green strapless dress by Alexander McQueen. Both of ‘em had matching gold accessories. Very vintage-looking. I think they both look fabulous!

Beyonce in Zac Posen

Beyoncé steals the thunder in a stunning emerald green fishtail dress from the Zac Posen Resort 2008 collection at Movie Rock. I hope she can breathe properly in it.

Rihanna in Green

Rihanna’s sexy cleavage-baring fishtail green dress may resemble Beyonce’s - but she’s rocking it with sexy curls and Hollywood 50s glam makeup. I think she’s dazzling.

Christina’s Baby Green

New mummy, Christina Aguilera is glowing in this velvet green dress. Who says you can’t look sexy when you’re preggers? Hollywood really set a new standard for pregnant women. Take note.
