Alexander Wang for UNIQLO

Fashion goes in cycles. Right now, every label is collaborating with everyone, well almost everyone. I know I just blogged about H&M’s Tribute to Marimekko yesterday. Plueys Singapore tipped us on the Alexander Wang’s much-anticipated collaboration with UNIQLO which is scheduled to hit stores end of May. The famed Japanese retail chain, UNIQLO is dubbed as the “Japanese-version of Gap“. However, I definitely like it better than Gap.

Alexander Wang is rocking the neutral colours with colour blocks of Grey, White and Black (which I absolutely love!) for his 8-piece collection. I guess monochrome colours are hot this season – and clean lines, and silhouette. This one is prolly my favourite of the three images that surfaced on the WWW (who can keep a secret these days? or is it intentionally leaked out?). I like the two-tone, on each half of the dress and the colour blocks for the neckline. Minimalistic at its best.

I got these photos from Susie Bubble. This dress is flirty in neutral palettes – I guess it’s the flip side of the world when constrasted with H&M’s Tribute to Marimekko collection. It’s definitely chic and flattering for the body.

I can picture a stampede at the UK store, and possibly everywhere else. It’s a pity there’s no UNIQLO store in Singapore or Malaysia by the time Alexander Wang’s collection hit the stores. On the brighter side, UNIQLO will debut in Singapore by August 2009 as reported by Channel News Asia resulting from a joint venture between Wing Tai Holdings & Fast Retailing. Awesome!

Did I mention that I’m going to HK? Hee.
