How do you make a splash with your fashion line? Do it the Justin Timberlake style. Make three short films and call them, “My Name is William Rast” - create a cool storyline, dress up the character and put a face to your brand. Most importantly, William Rast digs “Birdie”, featuring the leggy Erin Wasson who broke her foot while shooting this line of shorts. Catch the trailer (above) or you can watch the rest of the shorts here. In the meantime, I’m kinda digging the clothes:

I first spotted Isabella Leong in The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (bad movie, don’t even bother) and I can’t help but think, “OMG, this girl is hot”. Later on, I realised she has acted in several HK films such as Spider Lilies, Missing and etc. Then again, I hardly catch Asian films - and I’ve never seen any of her films. Thank you, Hollywood. Now, she’s following Zhang Ziyi’s footsteps as Mummy 3 is her first foray in Tinseltown. I’ve to say, she has impeccable style as seen on the red carpet. So, keep a look out for Isabella, because I think she’s going to be BIG:

The Queen of Pop, Madonna is back on the road with her Sticky & Sweet World Tour! I’m such a big Madonna fan. She’s prolly my ‘first’ idol since the 80s - when I was like six? (Also, Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, MJ etc. You get the drift - unless you’re 16 or younger). As you know, French fashion house Givenchy will dress Madonna for the Sticky and Sweet World Tour. We’ve seen the sketches earlier this month and now, let’s check out her hot tour outfits that will make you sweat:
Only Madonna rocks the pant-less look. Hmm, sheer black top.
Lookin’ fabulous at 50. Notice the fingerless gloves? Nice.
Me love pink guitars. And, she clips her hair with red bobby pins. Simple.
I bet her performance was electrifying! You can watch clips at madonna.com
Rock ‘n’ Roll, baby! That reminds me to learn to play the guitar.
Her majesty and her throne. Then, Asian-inspired NFL look? I’ve no idea!
Somehow, I really dig this look. It’s like vintage sporty. Love the rainbow star belt!
Ahh, seen the drawings - now this is how it looks like. Sweet.
Sporty wedges! I want!! *notes in X’mas list*
I like tuxedo-inspired boady suit with fringe! Really clever.
The Cult of Madonna. Are you part of it?
This is not ‘new’ news. Carla Bruni-Sarkozy scored the coveted cover of September 2008 issue of Vanity Fair. The magazine called her the new Jackie O - and I say, she definitely is. She knows style. She knows glamour. And, she’s “imaginative, clever, educated… and knows how to behave” according to the one and only, Karl Lagerfeld. Do check out her photo spread photographed by Annie Leibovitz:
Isn’t she stunning? Love the striking red bustier gown.

Aww… this must be l.o.v.e.
“They are hunters who met—predators,” Karl Lagerfeld says of Bruni and Sarkozy. “When two like this meet, it can be good.”
I like a First-Lady who sings and composes. Sexy.

I think I was 12 when Beverly Hills, 90210 was a massive hit. I was a huge fan and till today, I still use the “90210″ zip code when I sign up for American online stuff! Hee. One day, my mum caught me watching the show. She saw Brenda hooking up with her boyon the couch and she turned to me immediately, “Is this what 90210 is all about? Kissing is bad! You’ll get bad breath”. Well, I was 12.
Now, the brand new, all-improved (hopefully) 90210 will be premiering next Tuesday, 2 September and I simply can’t wait! The original Brenda and Kelly will be back to reprise their roles. And, I’m sure the fashion will not disappoint. Let’s take a look at the hotties that we can expect from the show:
WARNING: This is a ‘picture-heavy’ post, so please be patient with the loading!
Fash-E was at Fashion Nation’s 2nd B’day party at Soon Lee this afternoon, despite the mad rain! It was awesome meeting the bloggers and readers - in flesh and blood… hehe. Moe Moe and I were among the first few to arrive, so we shopped at Soon Lee which kindly offers 10% discount in conjunction with the party (Thanks Sharon!). Sweet! Personally, I had alot of fun because everyone is so friendly and we all share the same passion for fashion, shopping and individual style.
Fash-E are finally “real” friends with Fashion Nation girls. YEAH!
Let’s shop at Soon Lee. I’m surprised at the big space they have ‘ere. First-timer, marr.
Moe Moe taking a break from ’shopping’. LOL. Her bag is hand-painted by her friend, Jackie.
This is the outfit that I dare not wear! The story behind this dress: I won this vintage dress from eBay ages ago and I swear it looked better in the picture. Pictures can be super deceiving! I got a shocked when I received the item and it has been sitting in my closet for almost 2 years now. This is my first-time wearing it and prolly my last. LOL. It doesn’t flatter my body, I looked like I don’t have a sexy waistline. Hee.
I’m here with Zhiyang from TraiT a.k.a. Bingboompia and a lovely reader (can’t spelt her name!). She made this skirt herself! I’m so jealous. I wish I can sew. My body looks so ’straight’ - tsk tsk.
Nisa a.k.a. Perisa Cooper, a friend and Carlos from Vogueite. They looked so snazzy! Jealous. I thought we were suppose to wear spastic stuff. Maybe I’ve bad taste.
Finally, the party begins.*sings* Happy Birthday… Fashion Nation!
This is the face behind The Clothes Project, Kay.
The girls from Wottoncool. Love the gladiators and yellow shoes! I need more shoes. The men don’t get it.
Check out the kooky magnifying glasses that Rose is wearing! Crazy, but fun!
You can’t compete style with Fashion Students from TP! I could totally wear what they were wearing. That’s Laila from Rock.The.Trend and her funky classmates. The young and talents, tsk tsk. I feel old.
I love Stephie’s blouse (very Balenciaga-like) and Dottie’s shoes. Charles & Keith rocks.
They look awesome. I can’t help but to post a full-length outfit shot.
Rose clipped on her bunny ears and Kay improvised with her err… bag! That works for me. Check out Kay’s colourful sneakers. Totally outrageous!
Last, but not least - I met Claire who’s a Fash-E reader. We had a great chat about Magic Sing! It’s like the Karaoke fan must-have. I wish I caught up with the other bloggers like the Swirl Girls, Perisa Cooper, Carlos and etc. I didn’t manage to chat with everybody but I had fun sharing, laughing with the girls/boys above. More partiesss please! Till later.
I finally had the chance to ‘flip’ through Vogue September ‘08 issue at the hair salon yesterday. There were complaints about Keira Knightly as the cover girl, and her ’sticky’ hair situation. Honestly, I don’t think it’s the best cover but I fancy Keira - so I might sound really bias in this issue. However, the best editorial in this issue (in my opinion) is ‘Flights of Fancy’ that features the boys from the ‘Billy Elliot’ Broadway musical and the ethereal Caroline Trentini:
It’s 10:15pm. I just got back from IKEA. I went home for a short break, and wardrobe change (since the rain hasn’t stop!). I got my full length mirror (finally!) and some other knick-knacks. This is what I wore to my IKEA trip (note: check out my new hair! It’s really short in the back - I call it my Aeon Flux-look):
Jacket: Sports jacket from MNG
Top: T-shirt from Threadless (I didn’t change! LOL)
Bag: Silver bag form River Island (very over-used, I know)
Bottom: Black jeans from Levis
Shoes: Rain boots from Plueys (Don’t think I should own more than one pair!)
Do you like my boy’s windbreaker/jacket? It’s from H&M - he calls it ‘red neck’ chic.
