Second Life: Sentosa Island

Welcome to Sentosa Island on SL! Haha, I can’t believe it actually exists – including a cheesy, spinning Merlion. I took this picture with my SL friend, Mr Fugazi. It’s so cheesy, I had to do it! I also found Singaporeans on the island – for once. I went on a SL shopping frenzy last night – getting my hands on alot of new clothes, skins, shoes and what-have-you. You’ll be seeing more new stuff on me, not the same ol’ same ol’.

A random cat for SL camwhores, I believe. This is My Neighbour Totoro moment. Enjoy your weekend, people! I’m still trying to blog about fashion but SL is such a big distraction. Anyway, watch out for a change in Fash-E‘s header design. I finally decided I need some sort of branding. Awesomeness coming up!

LFW 2009: The Highlights

London Fashion Week is back. This year, LFW celebrates 25 years in fashion and also dedicated a day to menswear. Fash-E has so many designers to blog about but here are some which caught my eye: Mary Katrantzou‘s debut collection jolted me from my seat with bold, loud prints and architectural shapes. Luella never fail to amaze me with this “cute utilitarianism” collection. Christopher Kane creates an interesting look with stripes on organza. Giles gets a little aggressive with his new collection as he goes back to basic by mixing materials. House of Holland goes graphical with a multi-color parade (not the most impressive, unfortunately). Julien Macdonald brings back the rock chick. Roksanda Ilincic brings out the drama in the shoulders and sleeves. Ready or not, here we go.

Oscars After-Parties: The Favourites

It’s a night of celebration for some, but partying for all. The Oscars after-parties are all over town despite the recession. It’s an annual event, so the celebrities let their hair down and put on their party frock for the night. Fash-E picks her favourite among the lot:

Olivia Wilde always looks gorgeous in anything! This is my ultimate fave. This ocean-blue silk racer-back gown by Ralph Lauren. And, I want that body.

I’m not a fan of Kate Bosworth. But she picked a really shimmery sweet frock by Alexander McQueen.

I love the color of this black and blue Rodarte gown on Reese Witherspoon.

Ginnifer Goodwin added a little fun with this cute purple frock.

Sharon Stone leaves us with little imagination in this racy, lacy creation by Christian Dior.

Jessica Biel is back in the game with this fuchsia one-shouldered Oscar de la Renta gown. This is so much better than that horrible “popiah” lookin’ thing she wore to the show.

Rashida Jones looked stunning in this fun sequined frock by 3.1 Phillip Lim.

Debra Messing looked vintage-chic in this green and nude sequined dress.

Second Life: Everybody Loves Kungfu Fighting!

Today, my SL friend was helping me take photos for my Profile. I wanted some kungfu “butt-kicking” type – hopefully to scare off single, lonely AVs who try to take advantage of me. Or better still, vampires. I’ve had enough of vampires for now! Anyway, this is my favourite shot of the day :) I need more clothes.

Everybody loves kungfu fighting *sings* not Kungfu Panda.

Gossip Girl Season 2: The High & Low

ARGH, why is Gossip Girl constantly on hiatus? Are you guys dying for more like me? Why is Dan Humphrey such a slut? Why is Serena so confusing? Why is Blair so meanly adorable? Why is Dorota so sweet? WHY? WHY? WHY? Well, word has it that the show will return on 16 March (gosh, why?). So before that, let’s take a look at the high and low of Season 2. Then again, I should start my weekly “Bestest TV Style” once again. I will, one day.

Watch “Basstalk”, just to get you excited about GG again.

Second Life: Tai-Chi in Apollo

OK, I cheated. I’m back on Second Life again. Haha. This time, I think I’m a little smarter about navigating myself through the virtual space. Also, take it so seriously and learn to let go. I miss my AV, really. She’s my Barbie doll. I embarked into the The Lost Gardens of Apollo and I saw a group of AVs doing tai-chi! Talk about peace and serenity. I decided to join them. Isn’t this the best picture ever? No more partying for now. I’m seeking peace. And, I limit myself to an hour a day.

Yup, Asia has a new look now. And, she’s doing tai-chi!

Oh yeah, let’s synchronize our moves!

Welcome back, Asia!

Red Carpet: The Oscars 2009

Yippee! I’m still beaming with excitement from this year’s Oscars! The fabulous gowns, fresh winners and gosh, Hugh Jackman *swoons* Slumdog Millionaire deserves every award the film received – because I honestly think it’s the best film this year. Some people call it’s a crowd-pleaser, and some think it’s overrated. I think the film rocks – and yes, Danny Boyle finally got the recognition he deserved. Let’s focus our attention to the Oscars red carpet trend and best dressed: We see alot of beautiful fishtails (yes, we’re talking volumes!), belts (that’s new!) and of course seeing red, red, red! I’m very pleased with most of the red carpet moments – I think this has to be one of the best Oscars to date:

My pick for Best Dressed for the night. Kate Winslet stunned the world with this dramatic one-shouldered, silky, and multi-textured Yves Saint Laurent gown and shoes. A clear winner, don’t you think?

Penelope Cruz became the first Spanish Oscar winner. Congrats! She turned heads with this 60-year old voluminous ivory sweetheart vintage Balmain dress with lace detailing.

She may not be an Oscar winner, but Marisa Tomei hit the high notes with this silver-hued mermaid gown with an insane train by Versace.

In my humble opinion, Anne Hathaway is the modern Audrey Hepburn. Her modern-classic beauty sparkled in this sparkling, slender Armani Privé gown. It’s so beautiful, I can’t breathe.

Natalie Portman sweetened up this Grecian-inspired, orchid pink Rodarte gown.

Evan Rachel Wood made her way into the Best Dressed list in this soft champagne Elie Saab gown.

Angelina Jolie is one classy mama in this black Elie Saab gown with striking emerald earrings.

I’m in love with this girl. Freida Pinto rocked her Oscars debut in this sapphire, one-sleeve gown by John Galliano with Indian-inspired detailing. Love, love it.

Sarah Jessica Parker is not leaving her Carrie Bradshaw “tulle” behind! She wore this “barely mint” gown by Christian Dior Couture – such a ethereal, whimsical pick!

As one of the beauties in red, Amy Adams stood out in this strapless red Carolina Herrera gown and a colorful jeweled bib necklace by Fred Leighton.

Jennifer Aniston looked gorgeous in this shiny Valentino gown. Pretty!

Finally, congratulation to all the winners of this year’s Oscars!
