You probably have seen this ingenious diagram below by Refinery 29. It’s probably the cleverest thing I’ve seen for a long time. The fashion blogosphere tend to get stagnant once in awhile. It is refreshing to see the deconstruction of The Sartorialist’s preying methods in a form of a flow chart. Ironically, this makes a lot of sense.
If you’re unfamiliar with street style shutterbugs, Fash-E will give you the 411 on the more ‘popular’ street style photographers and the fashionable peeps that will catch their eye. Let’s begin with the one but not the only …
The Sartorialist

How many of these photos have you seen on The Sartorialist? Plenty. Scott Schuman loves taking quirky, old, rich-looking (not sure how rich they actually are!) and sometimes, preppy men. If you’re wearing a shirt, rolled up sleeves, boat shoes (why are they still in fashion?), ultra tight pants – you’re gonna catch his attention.

If you’re a model – all the better. I don’t believe streets are filled with unbelievably beautiful women. It’s just impossible. Then again, it’s a street style blog – some sort of curative work is required.
Garance Dore

This Parisian street style blogger/illustrator has a gift for photographing her subjects and making them look ethereal and simply beautiful. Especially women. Garance Dore is clearly one of my favourite street style shutterbugs. I love her illustrations of women because they always look out-of-bed sexy and ‘real’.

Did I mention that she’s dating The Sartorialist? What a sweet irony.
Face Hunter
The Face Hunter has an eye for individuals who are not afraid to dress up and be true to themselves. There is no archetypal subjects – but rest assured, they are all pretty kooky and stylish. Yvan Rodic travels the world with a hunger for style. And yes, he finds them every day.
Unlike The Sartoralist and Garance Dore, the Face Hunter loves colours. You won’t see too many monochromatic color schemes as he mixes graphics, colours and even hairstyles. I guarantee that you won’t see the same thing everyday. I guess that makes him an ‘individual’ street style shutterbug as well.
JAK & JIL BLOG

He stalks pretty shoes, can’t you tell?
Tommy from JAK & JIL BLOG literally parks outside every fashion show in Europe. He is most known for photographing models off-duty, fashion editors/stylists/writers/interns (you-name-it), shoes shoes shoes and even some celebrities. His style is pretty much “paparazzi” but with a touch of class.

Almost everybody looks unbelievably gorgeous on his blog. It makes you want more. As a street style shutterbug, you’ve gotta have an expensive camera coupled with a good eye for style and photography. So, who will be the next Sartorialist? We shall see.

i like boat shoes leh. wait: i love ‘em.
