If you’ve been following my Twitter (@xwen) or Facebook Page, you’ll know that I’ll be going as young Coco Chanel for this year’s Halloween. I’ve been shopping around for costume ideas and I thought it would be ideal to compile some of my favourites. I believe you’ll be seeing alot of Michael Jackson, Farah Fawcett and Lady Gaga wannabes this year. Vampires should be pretty popular too – thanks or no thanks to Twilight. There will always be superheroes – Jan beat me to my ultimate Halloween costume, Wonder Woman! But she’ll be the pirated version because her costume is not accurate! Sorry, comic geek speaking here. I strongly believe that you’ve to do it right when it comes to superheroes. If you’re a fashionista, who should you be dressing up as? Here are my picks:
Anna Wintour

She’s one of the most powerful person in fashion. You’ll fill her shoes for one night – and yes, experience a power trip if you like. Anna Wintour is a very timely choice for a costume. All you need is to get a blonde bob wig, big dark sunglasses, fur coat or tweed jacket and heels or boots. Then, fold your arms and not smile for the rest of the evening. Sounds good to me!
Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s

A popular yet classic choice. I believe every girl wants to be Holly Golightly. Plus, it’s one of the easiest costumes for every fashionista or Audrey Hepburn fan. All you need is a LBD (who doesn’t have one?), long strands of pearls, black Wayfarers, elbow-length gloves, diamond tiara and bee-hive hair! Holly Golightly never goes out of style.
Cher Horowitz in Clueless

Hands up! Who doesn’t love Clueless? (No? AS IF!) I was absolutely crazy about this film when I was a teenager. I wanted to be Cher Horowitz. She’s like Blair Waldorf in the 90s. Her look is PREPPY CHIC – think “mid-90’s fashion: plaid skirts, embellished jackets and cardigans, high-heeled Mary Janes, knee-highs/thigh-highs, and demure headbands“. You’ll have a ball dressing like Cher!
Lady Gaga in Bubble Dress

You’ll get loads of ideas if you plan to dress up as Lady Gaga. However, I think the bubble dress is my favourite of the lot. If I knew how to sew plastic bubbles, I would totally go for it! Here’s a tutorial on how to dress like Lady Gaga… with a little hint on DIY-ing your own bubble dress. Remember to wear a skin colour leotard inside!
Madonna in the 80s

Madonna is a style chameleon. If I have a choice, I would dress up as Madonna during her ‘Lucky Stars’ days. There is a major 80s revival happening right now – it would be too hard to find 80s-inspired clothing and accessories. Make sure you get the hair and lipstick right. Happy Halloween and good luck with your costumes!

there’re alot to choose from..!! Alexander McQueen, Gareth Pugh n Victoria Beckham included..but the best Halloween style to channel will be Kim Kardashian’s : http://troyjensenonline.blogspot.com/2009/09/kim-kardashian-fall-noir-for-yrb.html
Happy Halloween..!!
I know! I think Dinie is dressing up as Alexander McQueen big lips model… omg, I’m allergic to Kim K… she’s so trashy like Lindsay Lohan! What are you dressing up as?
I like Lilo but her F1 show dun appeal to me.. =( Im the office’s Ice Queen so I tink I’ll dress up as Narnia’s Snow Queen hehe..Twilight, Lady Gaga are way too common..I’m still in awe wif Alexander’s killer pumps..who’s gg to wear dat? haha..
Narnia’s Snow Queen is an excellent idea! You should! Those heels are amazingly… freakish – which kinda makes them really cool. I’m sure somebody will wear them – hopefully they don’t fall flat on their face.
wtf!!!!! lady gaga?
go to google images and type in lady gaga dress and scroll down theres one with a penis!
