A couple of weeks ago, I picked up an interesting booklet at Paragon‘s Ben Sherman (Did I tell you the sales person is wonderful at his job?) during a shopping trip with Bubster. It’s about Very Important Plectrums. Inspired by the Ben Sherman musical heritage and plectrum logo, this auction is an ingenious social responsibilty initiative by the brand to celebrate selected iconic artists and their plectrums with all proceeds going to Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy with the exception of funds raised from the Singapore bands – Astreal, Electrico, Fire Fight, Force Vomit, Leeson, The Amps, Concave Scream and Lunarin plectrums which will go to the Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund, Singapore.According to the website, “each band’s donation, together with the hand written message that accompanied it, will be beautifully presented in a frame to create a very special piece of memorabilia”. I think it’s a super clever idea and the perfect marriage between fashion-music-charity (sounds more like a threesome!).
Radiohead is currently going at 155 pounds. They are one of my favourite bands of all time.

Even Pete Doherty is gaining momentum at 102 pounds. Anyone listens to Babyshambles?

No Doubt‘s Tom Dumont scribbled a cute ‘whatever’ on the plectrum. I like it!
