Remember This Moment

Thank You, Burberry

The Burberry team took me out for lunch yesterday to Aoki Japanese Restaurant, one of the top-notch Japanese restaurants in Singapore. It was really sweet of them to do so. Plus, they gave me a present (well, the rest of the bloggers got theirs as well when they met for dinner). And here it is…

Wrapped up in a pretty lookin’ Burberry bag. I’m so thrilled!

Ooh, fancy fancy.

It’s a fine, gauze check stole in Royal Purple. Made from wool & silk. I love it!

THANK YOU BURBERRY!

Dec 14. Jimmy Choo for H&M.

jimmy-choo-hm-2

How I wish I’m in Hong Kong this weekend. Trust me, I don’t enjoy queuing but it would be nice to take a look at the Jimmy Choo for H&M collection. I’ve to admit that the collection is not ‘that’ affordable. Hey, it’s Jimmy Choo on a shoestring! What more can you ask for? I’m not hot about the clothes but I am digging those heels.

Here’s a peek at their advertising campaign – but then, you might already seen it. I’m in Penang right now for the weekend with Bubster and his parents. Yay! Good ol’ Malaysian food always makes me happy :D

Trendspotting: Burberry Acrylic and Crystal Degradé Bracelets for Spring Summer 2010

burberry-jewellery-spring-summer-2010-4

Keep your studs & chains because it’s all about acrylic and crystal degradé bracelets for Spring/Summer 2010. Spotted on models at the recent Burberry Prorsum Spring Summer 2010 womenswear catwalk show in London, these bangles were inspired by innovative interpretations of classic Burberry icons including the trench coat and trademark check. The check acrylic and crystal degradé bracelets are immensely beautiful in fumed shades of pale rock trench, pale rock anthracite, pale rock pistachio, pale rock pink and pale rock willow. If you ask me, I find these bangles pretty classic like the Burberry label. Classic choices never goes out of style. I’m sure you’ll be seeing them around pretty soon.

I Heart Burberry Jewellery A/W 2009

I’m in love with Burberry jewellery A/W 2009. Burberry successfully made chains and barbed-wires super chic and classy. I’m lusting over the tangled chains bracelet (USD$395) composed of two interwoven chains. The barbed-wire ring (USD$175), a polished brass double ring with barbed wire detailing, is sophisticated tribute to punk. I can’t tell you how much I’m digging these jewellery right now. If you’re in Singapore, go check them out at the new and largest South-East Asian Burberry store in ION Orchard - because I fell in love with these in that outlet.

I Heart Gareth Pugh’s Macbook 13″ Sleeve

Designed by Gareth Pugh for a capsule collection of Apple accessories. Incase has partnered with fashion and culture biannual AnOther Magazine and esteemed Paris fashion boutique colette to create this collection for those with an appreciation for high fashion and technology. This limited collection includes a 13” MacBook Pro Sleeve and iPhone 3GS Slider Case. Isn’t it rad? I wish I have a new MacBook Pro right now. Ahh, money no enough.

I just watched (500) Days of Summer and it was awesome! Bubster and I kept sniggering at each other. The similarities – kinda freaky. IKEA (when sparks really flew during our sixth date or something). The Pixies (we used to sing “Here Comes The Man” in the pool like crazies). Well, the major difference is – we’re still happy and together. HAPPY TOGETHER like Wong Kar Wai. This doesn’t make sense, I need to catch some zzzs. Joy to WEEKEND!

Look Book: Framed by Keita Maruyama

You may not know this but I’m actually half-blind. If I’m a little richer, I would have opted for Lasik surgery. Right now, I can only afford to invest in a good pair of glasses which can last me awhile – minus the risk of my klutziness. I normally don’t wear glasses during the day because a. I look super unglam with glasses and b. my eyes subconsciously become lazy. I’m currently wearing Keita Maruyama frame – yes, I’ve been obsessed with all things Japanese since my trip in April. I’ve been trying to learn some jap phrases on my iPod every morning on my way to work. Anyways, I’m in love with my glasses – but you won’t catch me wearing it often! Today is an exception. It’s Friday and my eyes are lazy. My colleague thinks I look like an aunty from the 60s. Ah well. Style is subjective :P

My new edition to my work desk – a Sea World souvenir from my colleague!

Are you having double-vision? Me too.

Yes, I can’t help but post more close up photos of my geeky glasses.

I love the star – reminds me of Jem & the Holograms.

I love good quality glasses that can last forever (now, that’s not true).

See the white stripes? Love the lil’ details.

Hats off to Derby fashion!

“C’mon, Dover! Move your bloomin’ arse!”

That’s probably one of the most memorable scenes from one of my favourite films, ‘My Fair Lady’. I memorised the songs from this film since I was three. Blame my mum for playing this film over and over again. I always adore the Ascot scene – because the ladies are dressed to impress in their fancy hats and gowns. In fact, size does matter!

Today, I attended the luncheon for the 14th Emirates Singapore Derby, in partnership with the Singapore Turf Club at the Shangri-La Hotel. The event aims to raise SGD$150,000 despite the gloomy economic climate. I was very interested special preview of Derby fashion – a fashion show featuring an exclusive collection from local designer Heng Nam Nam Boutique complemented by hats especially designed by Australian milliner Shai Tabassi. Just to relive the ‘Eliza Doolittle’ at the Ascot experience :D

All gowns are created meticulously by Heng Nam Nam Boutique.

According to Shai Tabassi, the ‘fountain’ hair is HORSE HAIR. Cool eh?

The debut of the new Emirates uniform!

I hope I get invited to the Derby – just an excuse to wear pretty hats :D
