The Beginning: Spring Summer 2010 Campaigns

Burberry & Louis Vuitton kicked start my Spring Summer 2010 ad campaign post. I love the beautiful Lara Stone in the ethereal shoot – makes me want to buy LV for the first time, I know. As for Burberry, I thought it was very un-Burberry to begin with and the models are refreshingly sexy for the brand. Then again, I’m not so difficult to please :D Let’s see if the other luxury brands will blow our 4-inch heels off our feet with their latest SS10 campaign:

Gucci SS10

Natasha Poly is back for Gucci SS10 campaign and yes, I WANT that pair of heels as mentioned here!

Dolce & Gabbana SS10

Madonna-DG-ss10-campaign

Madonna caught eating carbs! Besides, she was also photographed doing dishes. Guess the Queen of Pop is normal afterall.

Fendi SS10

She’s one of my favourite models – Anja Rubik is so leggy-licious in this Fendi SS10 ad.

Bottega Veneta SS10

Shot by fine art and documentary photographer, Nan Goldin. Anya Kazakova & Sean Opry starred in this dreamy ad campaign for Bottega Veneta.

Lanvin SS10

Inspired by model Jamie Bochert’s 12-block chase after a snatch thief, Steven Meisel photographed her in “a bit of action” as requested by Alber Elbaz.

Prada SS10

Rasa Zukauskaite is the face of Prada SS10. Boy, I want that dress.

Marc Jacobs SS10

Jamie Bochert is also fronting the Marc Jacobs SS10 campaign. This quirky ad featured her posing in a toilet bowl! Can’t wait to see the rest.

Emma Watson is Back: Burberry Spring Summer 2010

Purple is the new Black.

Trench has never looked sexier. Emma Watson is back for Burberry Spring Summer 2010 ad campaign alongside four hot British models: Emma’s younger brother Alex Watson, Matt Gilmour, Max Hurd and George Craig. Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s Creative Chief Officer said this campaign “celebrates our heritage and our timeless Burberry icons. The energy of the images and the dynamic cast reflect the different attitudes and expressions of the Burberry guy and girl.” As photographed by Mario Testino, this campaign is effortlessly fresh and young – it makes me wanna run out to grab myself a purple check trench. Hmm, make that two.

I’m absolutely digging this fierce shoulder lavender trench as seen on Emma Watson.

Peace and Love: Lara Stone for Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2010

Bye Bye, Miss America Pie. Make way for Miss Hot Lips, one of the industry’s most sought-after model Lara Stone. Photographed by Steven Meisel, Lara Stone is the new face of Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2010 ad campaign. Creative Director Marc Jacobs was looking for “modern, iconic, sexy beauty” and he found Lara Stone. Excellent choice, I say. “It was a wonderful shoot,” continues Marc Jacobs. “Doves were flying, the atmosphere was sexy and magical, and the result is a set of images that are desirable, colorful, whimsical and, of course, luxurious.” In this campaign, Lara Stone channels Brigitte Bardot as she sprawled beautifully on a bed of moss, fern and doves. Featuring the “metallic Monogram canvas and sun-bleached Monogram denim bags, furry foxtail charms, hardware-inspired jewelry and wooden clogs embellished with rustic tufts of fur”, this ethereal ad campaign definitely looks better than the last season – at least to me. Do you like it?

Dec 14. Jimmy Choo for H&M.

jimmy-choo-hm-2

How I wish I’m in Hong Kong this weekend. Trust me, I don’t enjoy queuing but it would be nice to take a look at the Jimmy Choo for H&M collection. I’ve to admit that the collection is not ‘that’ affordable. Hey, it’s Jimmy Choo on a shoestring! What more can you ask for? I’m not hot about the clothes but I am digging those heels.

Here’s a peek at their advertising campaign – but then, you might already seen it. I’m in Penang right now for the weekend with Bubster and his parents. Yay! Good ol’ Malaysian food always makes me happy :D

Holly Golightly! Lily Allen for Chanel Fall 2009

I adore Audrey Hepburn. And, I’ve seen Breakfast at Tiffany’s like 10,000 times. It has never crossed my mind that it would be “channel-ed” into Chanel’s Handbags Fall 2009 ad campaign featuring British singer, Lily Allen. Has Karl Lagerfeld lost his mind? Well, that’s what I thought when I first read about her involvement in the new campaign. I’ve to say – the campaign is not looking too bad afterall. Tell me what you think:

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate Lily Allen. I love her songs.

Every girl needs a tiara. Where’s mine?

I love this one – it makes this potty mouth looks classy!

The Marriage of Film and Fashion

Film + Fashion have a symbiosis relationship. Fashion is best appreciated in cinematic motion. Recently, I can’t help but notice the ’short film’ trend engaged by the big fashion houses to heighten their brand image and illustrate their ‘art’. I have a deep passion for both film and fashion – and it excites me to see this beautiful marriage of two art forms. Back in 2008, Gwyneth Paltrow starred in TodsPashmy Dream, directed by Dennis Hopper. Then, Nicole Kidman starred in Chanel No. 5’s ad, directed by Baz Luhrmann – the trend doesn’t stop. Here are some new ‘films’ which will blow your mind away:

At first, I was captivated by Chanel No. 5’s film-like ad featuring French actress, Audrey Tautou who recently starred as Coco Chanel in the designer’s biopic. This film makes you wanna fall in love with a beautiful stranger. The power of a scent, hurr.

According to Fashionologie, tomorrow, Dior officially launches their six and a half minute thriller, “The Lady Noire Affair”, which reunites Marion Cotillard with her La vie en rose director Olivier Dahan and showcases the Lady Dior handbag. This is only the first part. The second part of this campaign will be for Fall 2009, “Lady Rouge,” is teased with Marion appearing almost unrecognizable as a blonde in a lace gown. “Lady Rouge” will be shot in New York. Interesting!

This is one absolutely trippy ad by Matthew Williamson for H&M. Apparently, the song “We Need a Change” will be available for free download at www.facebook.com/hm starting Monday, May 18th. I find this really hilarious.

Enjoy the films :)

Agyness Deyn + Uniqlo

Here’s the unlikely couple. Fashionologie reported that Agyness Deyn shot a highly lucrative Summer sports campaign with Japanese label, Uniqlo. This campaign is set to go ‘live’ in June. Photographed by Daniel Jackson and styled by Nicola Formichetti.

Audrey Tautou for Chanel No. 5

I can’t wait for Coco Avant Chanel to hit our silver screen in Singapore. Right now, Audrey Tautou and Amelie director Jean-Pierre Jeunet re-paired for a Chanel No. 5 commercial spot. This commercial has been reported to be more expensive than the five-year old commercial spot directed by Baz Luhrmann, featuring Nicole Kidman. The story goes like this: two strangers and their missed encounters between strangers — played by Tautou and model Travis Davenport. They travel on the Orient Express from Paris to Istanbul. The TVC runs 2 minutes, 25 seconds; a teaser will debut in late April on chaneln5.com. Simply exciting! Here’s the first look of the TVC:
