Fash-Icon: Noelle Loh from ST Urban

I met a lot of fashion-forward people during the Audi Fashion Festival 2009. One of them is Noelle Loh, fashion writer/editor from ST’s Urban. She caught my eye at the opening show, Christian Lacroix Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2009 show last Wednesday when she wore this striking vintage beaded dress (as seen below). Noelle said she got the dress from Los Angeles (I need to go there!) and it is more affordable than you think! I thought it was the perfect choice for the opening gala (I wore work clothes, for pete’s sake!)… and her clutch is from Thailand. Did I mention that I’m totally digging her hair as well? I knew immediately that I had to feature her as my Fash-Icon. Here are my snapshots of Noelle during the Audi Fashion Festival 2009.

AFF09: Vivienne Westwood Autumn/Winter Anglomania Show 09/10

It’s a wrap! Audi Fashion Festival 2009 is finally over. I’m having mixed feelings, really. Sad because it’s over. Happy because I can get back into my routine. A million thanks to the team at Mercury Marketing & Communications (especially Fiona!) for inviting me to the many shows. I had the best experience ever! Yesterday’s Vivienne Westwood Anglomania 09/10 show totally blew my socks off. I love the eccentricity and varied characters that the models play. The show represented what the collection is about: playful, bright and full of energy. The event couldn’t have ended better than this. Enjoy my final videos of AFF09:

Happy Models = Happy People

Her kind words and “presence” ended AFF09 on a high note.

Long live VW! Till next year, my life is going back to normal once again.

Spotted: Vivienne Westwood Autumn/Winter 09/10 Anglomania Show

I should be sleeping at this hour. But, I’m editing videos and pictures for Fash-Ededicated or not? Hee. I spotted some of my school mates (some I haven’t seen in ages) at the show. Vivienne Westwood Autumn/Winter 09/10 Anglomania show proved to be a big hit among the fashionistas in Singapore. I guess it’s the last day – I got a little lazy chasing stylish people and celebrities around for photos.

Carlos, who were you talking to?

AFF09: Marc by Marc Jacobs brought to you by Samsung Mobile

I was bopping up and down when I heard the opening song, “Hong Kong Garden” by to the Siouxsie & the BansheesMarc by Marc Jacobs brought to you by Samsung Mobile show on Friday, 8 May 2009 at the Audi Fashion Festival 2009. Talk about a good music lineup! Amos was tasked to film the show for me – not up to my standard though :P I had to edit the video to 10-min so YouTube would accept it. Hmmph!

My friends, Jan, Geetha and Amos were there to join me at the show. Hurrah! I really dig alot of stuff that I saw on the runway. Especially the black canvas studded shoes – very yummy. I’m wearing Marc by Marc Jacobs – doh. I love that brand – not rich enough to buy the latest season.

Anyway I’ve to head out to Vivienne Westwood closing show for AFF09 right now! I’m late!

AFF09: The Ashley Isham Couture Showcase by Lee Hwa Jewellery

I had the best “seat” in the house for The Ashley Isham Couture Showcase by Lee Hwa Jewellery at the Audi Fashion Festival 2009 on Friday, 8 May 2009. I wasn’t able to upload the entire show on YouTube because it was too long! Boo. And, I exceeded my limit on Vimeo. Here’s an edited version of the show on Friday:

The show kicked start with Singapore singer, Alicia Pan in a glitzy gold number singing “L-O-V-E” (originally by Nat King Cole). I started seeing stars as ultimate bling bling couture gowns paired with Lee Hwa Jewellery walked down the runway with the theatrical-like music. No offence but I seriously didn’t like the Tim Burton-like music.

Otherwise, Ashley Isham definitely pushed it up one more notch for the Singapore fashion industry with his couture collection. I had such a blast! Will be back with more videos. Tonight, closing show – Vivienne Westwood Anglomania collection!

AFF09: Blueprint 2009 featuring Blackmarket

Confession of a Fashion Blogger: I didn’t make it for the Blueprint 2009 featuring Blackmarket show at the Audi Fashion Festival 2009. I was starving from not having dinner, haha – so unfashion-like. In fact, I had the greasiest ‘prata’ (Indian pancake) at Spize before heading to Zouk for Gareth Pugh’s DJ set. Basically, Blackmarket “celebrates creativity in all design manifestations”. This show featured designers include Elohim (Singapore), Nikicio (Singapore/Indonesia), Gian Romano (Singapore/Philippines), Stella Rissa (Indonesia) and Reckless Ericka (Singapore). Enjoy.

Bravo to all young Asian designers! GREAT JOB!

AFF09: Innovator 2009 in support of Go Red For Women

Singapore home-grown labels, Nicholas and Hansel were both honoured at the Innovator 2009 brought to you by Celton Manx & Designaré Magazine In support of Go Red For Women presented by MasterCard. After the designer showcase, the little red dresses walked down the runway once again before the auction began. It was an interesting concept, but not exactly the most effective in this economic climate. Let’s just say that all dresses are sold to their new owners for a good cause.
