Christmas Redux: The Loot

Do you celebrate Christmas? I’m not Christian – to be honest, I only celebrate the holiday for commercial reasons. Then again, I don’t really exchange gifts with friends. I only buy Christmas presents for my family, Bubster and colleagues (for our annual Secret Santa game). This year, I got a few presents from Bubster, Hoyu Singapore, Uniqlo and myself :D (shameless Christmas shopping!). What did you get for Christmas?

My sweet Bubster gave me a shiny purple Coach Jewel Leather Zip Around wallet in Violet. Funny thing is I never hinted to him that I wanted this wallet. I’m pretty contented with my Hello Kitty x Tokidoki wallet from Tokyo but hey, can’t complain right? Yay to new wallet and the smell of leather!

Here’s a new addition to my Longchamp bag collection: My Longchamp Le Pliage in Lavender from the Fall/Winter 2009 colour palette. It’s such a practical bag for traveling – doesn’t give me achy shoulders. Even my mum is hooked! She got herself a long handle one in Black. I blame Bagaholicboy.

Mum and I went shoe-crazy in Hong Kong because there was a moving out sale at Causeway Bay. I was a sensible shopper – I only bought three pairs! Nine West, Enzo Angiolini, Clarks, Steve Madden, Anne Klien – all on sale! I look for comfort shoes so I bought a pair of yellow strappy heels by Easy Spirit, a pair of black studded leather flats by Enzo Angiolini and a pair of nude pumps from Clarks.

Hoyu Singapore sent me a Christmas gift pack from its consumer range consisting of two Prominous hair colour, and Beautylabo Color Care products. Yay! Thank you Hoyu :D

Last but not least, I got some gift vouchers from Uniqlo to spend at 313@Somerset as a Christmas gift. Obviously, I’ve spent it already. So… that was Christmas for me!

Patricia Field x Keith Haring

Patricia Field x Keith Haring

Famed SATC stylist, Patricia Field collaborated with the man who commercialized graffiti art, Keith Haring to create a line called Keith Haring for House of Field. Not the man himself, but his art. The late Keith Haring has worked with Madonna, Grace Jones, Bill T. Jones, William Burroughs, Timothy Leary, Jenny Holzer, Yoko Ono and Andy Warhol throughout his career. His works may be criticized and praised over the years – no doubt he has produced some of the iconic visual arts in the 20th century. I’m personally diggin’ the limited edition plastic magazine clutches as shown above. You may also want to check out the silk scarfs as shown below. Well, let’s add that to my Christmas wish-list.

Fash-E’s Top 3 Party Clutches

It’s 15 days to Christmas and yes, it’s party party party! I personally do not own clutches or party bags – which is why I’ve been doing some research on pretty clutches to invest. Let’s see, my criteria is simple. It has to be classic yet modern. It has to be beautiful yet practical. It has to be able to fit all party occasions (or some). I’m sure I’ll need more than one but I’ve to start somewhere. Here’s what I’m looking at:

Bottega Veneta Nero Galuchat Knot

Bottega-Veneta-Nero-Mineral-Galuchat-Knot

From the Bottega Veneta Spring/Summer 2010 collection. I immediately fell in love with this beauty. It would be perfect pair with my evening dresses. As seen on Leighton Meester, this one is definitely an investment piece. I’m a fan of bling bling.

Mulberry Oversized Ava Clutch

The Mulberry oversized Ava clutch is simple yet chic. This could be a great alternative to your regular office handbag – plus, you can carry it through to your girl’s night out. Nice! I wanna get it! Let’s see, maybe the Alexa comes first.

Marc Jacobs “Night in Rio” Swarovski-studded Clutch

Yes, more bling! I don’t think anyone can go wrong with black and bling. This swarovski-studded clutch by Marc Jacobs is ideal for the casual night out.

I Heart Bottega Veneta Limited Edition Knot India

I’ve always wanted a Bottega Veneta Knot – a classic box clutch with its signature weave. Yes, put that in my wish list. This limited edition Knot India is a love at first sight. Specially designed for India in conjunction with “The Knot: A Retrospective” exhibition in Mumbai, this limited edition box clutch will debut at Bottega Veneta’s mumbai store, located at the galleria at Nariman Point. And, only 25 of these beauties will be available from December 9. Coveted? Totally. Bubster thinks it looks like a “fancy pineapple” – I think it’s a keeper! Rumour has it that 20 of them have been reserved… and only five more are up for grabs! I wonder how much is this baby – any idea?

Look Book: Of Penang & Longchamp Le Pliage ‘Sergent Colonel’

I just got home from Penang & Taiping with Bubster and his parents for a quick weekend getaway. I wish we had more time in Malaysia but I have to work tomorrow :( Anyway,  I think we packed alot in our trip and ate alot of good hawker food. I didn’t get my Penang laksa fix though. I guess it is too exotic for my future in-laws! We had my all-time favourite two-sisters char kway teow, banana pancake, kakak fishball kway teow with kakak peng and otah. Good enough for me. I’ll be heading back to Malaysia in two weeks – I’ll have my long awaited laksa then!

At Kek Lok Si temple in Penang yesterday.

I bought this Longchamp Le Pliage ‘Sergent Colonel’ bag (collaboration with Jeremy Scott) in Bilberry from Hong Kong last week. According to bagaholicboy, the price is much cheaper than Singapore! (well, that blogger is a walking price list!)

I saved about SGD$100… and this limited edition range is currently sold out in Singapore. So double-yay! I’ve to say this bag is perfect for traveling. It’s roomy, light, and chic. Even the immigration officer touched the “medals” during the security check and asked me, “Wah, is this your real medal?” – I was like, “Err, YEAH!” Super random.

First Look: Comme des Garçons x The Beatles

Comme des Garçons x The Beatles

Has Rei Kawakubo bitten the poison apple? The new collaboration between Comme des Garçons x The Beatles may be an odd marriage but it is definitely worth exploring. I personally prefer structured bags for daily use, but this one is a strange puppy. I mean, what do you expect from Rei Kawakubo right? I like how the Apple Corps logo blends in with the signature polka dots. There is a no-leather policy (as you know, Sir Paul McCartney is a vegan himself)… hence, the 10 large-format items will be made in Japan from “embossed polyurethane or printed PVC and detailed with metal grommets, embossing and cords”.

To be launched on Nov 27, the prices ranges from around $115 for a T-shirt up to $860 for the most expensive bag. Pretty affordable, I must say. I can’t wait to see the entire collection – now, who wants to help me buy? *bambi eyes*

I Heart Samsonite Black Label by Viktor & Rolf

Five more days to Taiwan! While shopping for a new handcarry bag yesterday, I saw the Samsonite Black Label by Viktor & Rolf at Tangs. I am totally in LOVE. Apparently, the collection is exclusive at Tangs (since the Samsonite Black Label outlet at Raffles Hotel shut its doors) – so do head down there if you wanna buy or just sneak a peek. Gosh, I wish I can travel in style – in this economic climate, I can’t really think about luxury items without feeling guilty. Anyway, there is no harm in feasting my eyes on pretty things right?

For the boys. This is SGD$1,400 by the way.

For the girls. Love the bow!

I WANT THIS!

Cabin luggage anyone?

Aww, Iove the purse-inspired opening. SGD$1,140 from memory.

How about this baby? SGD$500 – so cute!
