Bottega Veneta: Special-Edition Nappa for Spring Bud Project

Let me share a guilt-free shopping tip: Bottega Veneta designed a new, special-edition handbag to the Spring Bud Project of the China Children and Teenager’s Fund, a leading charity in China. This means all proceeds from the sale will go into the fund that assists underprivileged girls and young women in education, medical care and job training. Isn’t this awesome? There are a total of 26 customized intrecciato nappa cross-body bag in a new colour called “Bottle” to be sold (Priced at RMB20,770 or approx. SGD$4,180.13) – so, don’t feel so guilty spending that money because you are contributing to a good cause.

The Chinese love symbolism: The rich green hue represents the “blossoming of hope and vitality” for the Spring Bud Project.

I Heart Proenza Schouler Mini Messenger PS1

Oh, I first fell in love with Proenza Schouler PS1 pochette last year. In Paris, I couldn’t leave Colette without molesting their PS1s. Now, I’m lusting after the new Proenza Schouler Mini Messenger PS1 (particularly in natural/black). Priced at USD$1,595.00, I would love to get one (if I’m not getting married – gosh, weddings are so expensive!). At 8.5″ x 12.5″ x 4″, it’s such a great shoulder hand bag – and yes, my birthday is coming!*hint*hint*

I absolutely heart this mixed-leather and old-school colour-mix.

Bottega Veneta’s The Knot: A Retrospective Exhibition in Singapore

A month ago, I attended the preview of Bottega Veneta‘s “The Knot: A Retrospective” exhibition at its ION Orchard store in Singapore on May 11. This exclusive, globe-trotting exhibition was held from May 13 – 16 (sorry, it’s over people!) that featured over 50 iconic Knot bags from the 80s to the current season. If you’ve followed me on Facebook, you would have seen exclusive iPhone (we weren’t allowed to take pictures, but I got permission to use my iPhone!) photos of the beetle-inspired Knot clutches from the Fall/Winter 2010 collection. Some of the vintage clutches from the 80s and 90s are pre-Tomas Maier – notice the clasp not the knot. This exhibition has been traveling around the world since its debut Milan on April 17. It was quite a spectacle for myself to feast my eyes and touch the beautiful Knot clutches. One day, you’ll be mineee…

I heart the Bottega Veneta Nero Galuchat Knot made from stingray leather. Gorgeous!

Did you know Bottega Veneta celebrated its 30th anniversary this year?

Christmas Redux: The Loot

Do you celebrate Christmas? I’m not Christian – to be honest, I only celebrate the holiday for commercial reasons. Then again, I don’t really exchange gifts with friends. I only buy Christmas presents for my family, Bubster and colleagues (for our annual Secret Santa game). This year, I got a few presents from Bubster, Hoyu Singapore, Uniqlo and myself :D (shameless Christmas shopping!). What did you get for Christmas?

My sweet Bubster gave me a shiny purple Coach Jewel Leather Zip Around wallet in Violet. Funny thing is I never hinted to him that I wanted this wallet. I’m pretty contented with my Hello Kitty x Tokidoki wallet from Tokyo but hey, can’t complain right? Yay to new wallet and the smell of leather!

christmas-2009-presents-longchamp-bag

Here’s a new addition to my Longchamp bag collection: My Longchamp Le Pliage in Lavender from the Fall/Winter 2009 colour palette. It’s such a practical bag for traveling – doesn’t give me achy shoulders. Even my mum is hooked! She got herself a long handle one in Black. I blame Bagaholicboy.

christmas-2009-presents-shoes

Mum and I went shoe-crazy in Hong Kong because there was a moving out sale at Causeway Bay. I was a sensible shopper – I only bought three pairs! Nine West, Enzo Angiolini, Clarks, Steve Madden, Anne Klien – all on sale! I look for comfort shoes so I bought a pair of yellow strappy heels by Easy Spirit, a pair of black studded leather flats by Enzo Angiolini and a pair of nude pumps from Clarks.

Hoyu Singapore sent me a Christmas gift pack from its consumer range consisting of two Prominous hair colour, and Beautylabo Color Care products. Yay! Thank you Hoyu :D

Last but not least, I got some gift vouchers from Uniqlo to spend at 313@Somerset as a Christmas gift. Obviously, I’ve spent it already. So… that was Christmas for me!

Patricia Field x Keith Haring

Patricia Field x Keith Haring

Famed SATC stylist, Patricia Field collaborated with the man who commercialized graffiti art, Keith Haring to create a line called Keith Haring for House of Field. Not the man himself, but his art. The late Keith Haring has worked with Madonna, Grace Jones, Bill T. Jones, William Burroughs, Timothy Leary, Jenny Holzer, Yoko Ono and Andy Warhol throughout his career. His works may be criticized and praised over the years – no doubt he has produced some of the iconic visual arts in the 20th century. I’m personally diggin’ the limited edition plastic magazine clutches as shown above. You may also want to check out the silk scarfs as shown below. Well, let’s add that to my Christmas wish-list.

Fash-E’s Top 3 Party Clutches

It’s 15 days to Christmas and yes, it’s party party party! I personally do not own clutches or party bags – which is why I’ve been doing some research on pretty clutches to invest. Let’s see, my criteria is simple. It has to be classic yet modern. It has to be beautiful yet practical. It has to be able to fit all party occasions (or some). I’m sure I’ll need more than one but I’ve to start somewhere. Here’s what I’m looking at:

Bottega Veneta Nero Galuchat Knot

From the Bottega Veneta Spring/Summer 2010 collection. I immediately fell in love with this beauty. It would be perfect pair with my evening dresses. As seen on Leighton Meester, this one is definitely an investment piece. I’m a fan of bling bling.

Mulberry Oversized Ava Clutch

The Mulberry oversized Ava clutch is simple yet chic. This could be a great alternative to your regular office handbag – plus, you can carry it through to your girl’s night out. Nice! I wanna get it! Let’s see, maybe the Alexa comes first.
