tarte cosmetics To Be Launched at Sephora Singapore

That’s right, NYC’s tarte cosmetics is coming to Singapore, thanks to Sephora. Founded by CEO Maureen Kelly, tarte cosmetics offers cruelty-free, eco-chic beauty products infused with powerful ingredients. I met the awesome Jessica White, Senior Public Relations Manager of tarte cosmetics who was in town for the Sephora Holiday 2013 Preview - she introduced the best-selling products from the cosmetic line as well as the Christmas sets for the holiday season. The vegan-friendly tarte cosmetic products are formulated without parabens, mineral oils, phthalates, triclosan,  sodium lauryl sulfate and gluten – but it’s not 100% organic! I can’t wait to swatch the range of products when it hits Sephora stores in mid-November.

tarte cosmetics: Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation

Powered by Amazonian clay and infused with light-reflecting natural gemstones (what!), I love the Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation (S$58) which is applied using the Airbuki bamboo powder foundation brush. All you need to do is push the brush into the mesh and buff onto your skin in circular motion. You will achieve a flawless, natural-looking complexion! Available in 11 shades.

tarte cosmetics: Amazonian Butter Lipstick

Ooh, how adorable is the packaging for the Amazonian Butter Lipstick (S$26)? You can achieve the perfect, moisturizing pout with this lipstick made from from cupaucu butter,  murumuru butter, shea butter and mineral pigments.

Eco-Beauty: New Zealand’s evolu skincare

Founded by Kati Kasza, New Zealand’s evolu skincare believes that the “key to lasting beauty is natural balance”. Made from a unique blend of 100% pure botanicals and New Zealand spring water, the ‘evolu essence’ “restores and maintain the skin’s ideal balance, assists the skin’s natural mechanism to achieve healthy, beautiful skin that is naturally supple, moisturized, tone and self-sufficient in its defense against external elements”. I had the chance to try out evolu’s Recovery Day Cream as well as Recovery Overnight Cream for the ultimate 24-hour skin pampering.

Eco-Beauty: New Zealand's evolu skincare

Recovery Day Cream, 75ml (S$48.00)
For sensitive and dry skin
The Recovery Day Cream is formulated with botanical ingredients of NZ Kawakawa (to repair and detoxify), Geranium (to calm and therapeutic properties, improve circulation), Pure Vitamin E (skin protection), Patchouli, Lemon Oil (anti-inflammatory and soothing), Kiwifruit Seed Oil (high in Vitamin C), Omega 3 Fatty Acids (to rejuvenate and fight against skin aging). Apply gently onto face after cleansing and toning in the morning.

Recovery Overnight Cream, 75ml (S$50.00)
For sensitive and dry skin
The Recovery Overnight Cream is formulated with botanical ingredients of Sea Minerals and Marine Extracts (boost of Vitamin A, B1 and B12), Sweet Orange (Vitamin C), Nori extract and Chondrus extract (antioxidant properties), Lavender (balancing, regenerative and healing properties, conditions skin), Mandarin (cell repair and hydration, calms the skin), Wheatgerm and tocopherol (supply Vitamin E, antioxidant). Apply gently onto face after cleansing and toning in the evening.

Fash-Review: I love all things natural and eco-friendly (and everything Kiwi, naturally). evolu skincare surprises me with its delightful scent of 100% pure cosmetic grade essential oils – c’mon, who doesn’t love anything that smells wonderful? The Recovery Day Cream‘s light-weight texture may not be as ‘light-weight’ as I expected. But, I love its richness that leaves my skin moisturised for most of the day. Best of all, I am a big fan of Geranium and it feels like I just stepped out of a day spa. The Recovery Overnight Cream is a luxurious cream that helps maintain the skin’s firmness and elasticity while you snooze. I think this is perfect for cold weather countries or dry air-conditioned room. I use generously on my neck to keep my skin from sagging! I would bring this to New Zealand when I visit end of the year. If you sleep with the fan on, I don’t recommend this unless you have very dry skin.

The Body Shop’s Earth Loversâ„¢: 100% Biodegradable!

I first fell in love with The Body Shop eco-range, Rainforest Hair Care when I bought the travel size shampoo and conditioner for my New Zealand trip in February. You can imagine how thrilled I was to receive a beautiful picnic basket filled with cucumbers, lemons and of course, the entire range of Earth Loversâ„¢ range with the new eco-conscious label from The Body Shop. The clear bottles are simple, easy to use but more importantly, the shower gel range is 100% biodegradable. Infused with a blend of herb and fruit extracts and Community Fair Trade aloe vera, you’ll enjoy a soap-free, gentle and delicious shower experience.

Fash-Review: My skin is slightly sensitive so I am very conscious when I pick my shower gels. Otherwise, I’ll break out into red rashes – they are not pretty. The Earth Loversâ„¢ range smells really good – but there is also a Fragrance-Free option if you’re not a fan of “smells”. My personal favourite is the Watermelon & Eucalyptus – it’s just refreshing and different from what you can get from the usual suspects off the shelves. I’m not such a fan of the Fig & Rosemary (I like eating figs, just not smelling like one). Bubster likes Mint & Cucumber (I guess it’s quite a guy’s choice)…

It’s good to know that my skin doesn’t break out in redness but I personally prefer something more moisturising. No biggie, just have to slather on more body lotion after my shower. Best of all, I’m happy to know that all the little fishies are not harmed after every shower.
