I’m very surprise that Chanel got “one of the greatest filmmaker of all time”Martin Scorsese to direct the Bleu de Chanel, men’s fragrance ad. Is this a recent phenomenon for luxury brands to engage notable filmmakers to direct their ads and more ambitiously, short films? Sofia Coppola directed Miss Dior Cherie and a recent one with Natalie Portman. Then, Zoé Cassavetes for Louis Vuitton‘s Hide and Seek – an ethereal film set in London featuring the Summer 2010 collection. Who can forget that super stylish Gucci Guilty short directed by visual extraordinaire Frank Miller. Now, Tisch Alumni Martin Scorsese! That’s like a BIG DEAL. I can’t wait to see more famous filmmakers collaborating with fashion.
It’s like marrying both of my passions into a perfect piece of art.

I was on the bus, looking at the red carpet photos from the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards this morning on my way to work. Thank goodness for iPhone! Let’s see, this year we spotted old-Hollywood glamour, various textures, navy hues and lotsa sparkles! For the “Ultimate” Best Dressed, I can’t decide whether I like January Jones‘ Versace or Anna Paquin‘s Alexander McQueen better… there’s no way I can pick only ONE! Here are my favourites from the 2010 Emmys red carpet:
ELECTRIFYING! I <3 everything about this metallic blue, textured gown by Versace.
Anna Paquin stands out in this bold gold/black Alexander McQueen number.
Yayyy! I finally met Alexa Chung and talked to her (briefly – but still…). Thanks to CLUB 21 for the fabulous invite to the party of the MONTH at Tanjong Beach Club, Sentosa! Ahh… bliss. This party not ‘all’ about Alexa Chung. It’s the launch of the Mulberry Autumn/Winter 2010 collection – and yes, the theme is Naughty Royalty. Surprisingly, I didn’t spot too many Mulberry Alexa bags tonight – I guess everyone didn’t want to risk carrying the same bag! Alright, I’m tired – need sleep. Will blog more tomorrow when I upload the video of the Mulberry A/W 2010 show featuring two adorable pups – a Pug and a French Bulldog! Cute or what?
Definitely ‘the’ Party of the Week
Hello Alexa Chung! Is she twit-picing us? (Nope, I checked)
Introducing (from left): Betty Draper, Peggy Olson & Joan Holloway
FYI: I’m crazy about Mad Men (a little late, I know). This show got me all excited about full skirts, vintage scarfs and that ‘perfect’ Betty Draperhairdo. The show’s style showcases the evolution of fashion from the 50s full skirts to 60s mod over the past three seasons. Let’s just say pre-Jackie O style days, shall we? We definitely got a good mix of the 50s and 60s – ooh, I likey! Oh no, Mad Men-mania doesn’t end here – the show’s costume designer, Janie Bryant will be releasing a Mad Men style guide later in the year and a clothing line with QVC! How awesome is that? I’m verbally pre-ordering the book right now.
Who’s your favourite Mad Men‘s Style? Mine is definitely Betty Draper (now Betty Francis). Here’s a quick style guide of all the leading ladies – so take your pick for Halloween ideas:
There is something special about marriage of music & fashion. Asian celebrities flocked to Oscar-winning Tan Dun’s “Martial Arts Trilogy“ premiere at the World Expo 2010 Shanghai on August 7. Presented by Bottega Veneta, the “Martial Arts Trilogy” was performed by the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, China Youth Symphony Orchestra, and Shanghai Philharmonic at the magnificent Expo 2010 Shanghai Cultural Centre. Let’s see who wears what at this cultural extravagant affair:
The ladies and their Bottega Veneta Knot Clutches. Who are they?
Are you ready for this?Coco Rocha‘s ‘hush-hush’ mermaid wedding gown by Zac Posenis finally revealed to the public. Verdict:Oh So Coco! Gosh, I wish I’m getting married in castle – so I can have a gorgeous, dramatic train! Remember that little preview (2/3 of her “hush-hush” wedding gown) I blogged about in June – well, now we get to see the full picture. Of course, gorgeous as expected! I always love the mermaid silhouette such as Katherine Heigl‘s wedding gown by Oscar de la Renta (Ah, should have been mine!). Congrats again to Coco Rocha and her hubby James Conran!
Brilliantly Beautiful!Coco Rocha‘s wedding gown by Zac Posen.
