ck Calvin Klein Spring 2010 at Queenstown Remand Prison

Firstly, I had a blast tonight at Queenstown Remand Prison – yes, you heard me! PRISON! This is like my “Prison Break” moment while sipping champagne (so glam right?). ck Calvin Klein presented their Spring 2010 collection with a special installation by artist Geoff Ang. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take pictures *boo* – there were models standing in a row on a raised platform like statues. I felt sorry for them for standing in the same position for such a long period of time! It was pretty novel, I’ve to say. I was just excited to be in the prison – I mean, you’ve to applaud the creative team for bringing a high-end party into a venue that not everyone has never seen before. Bagaholicboy and Carlos from Vogueite were there as well – and boy, we had a great time. The perfect end to my very long week! TGIF!

A not-so-long wait before we enter the venue.

ck-queenstown-remand-prison-show-2

There was no red carpet. Everyone enters the venue via the side door. Including Mediacorp artiste, Cynthia Koh!

Ooh, we are all going behind bars!

The entire place was constructed and painted in white for this event. Yes, aircon!

ck-queenstown-remand-prison-show-4

See the models in red? We couldn’t take pictures beyond the bars. Boo.

ck-queenstown-remand-prison-show-5

Carlos and I. I had a lil’ too much champagne already.

Look at the open showers! I got stopped for trying to go nearer to take picture :P

ck-queenstown-remand-prison-show-8

I bumped into Joyce from Her World. I first met her at pole dance class, hehehe.

Look at the crowd! This is a great party, or what?

ck-queenstown-remand-prison-show-10

O.M.G. I spotted NYU Tisch Asia students who gatecrashed the party for free booze.

Emma Watson is Back: Burberry Spring Summer 2010

Purple is the new Black.

Trench has never looked sexier. Emma Watson is back for Burberry Spring Summer 2010 ad campaign alongside four hot British models: Emma’s younger brother Alex Watson, Matt Gilmour, Max Hurd and George Craig. Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s Creative Chief Officer said this campaign “celebrates our heritage and our timeless Burberry icons. The energy of the images and the dynamic cast reflect the different attitudes and expressions of the Burberry guy and girl.” As photographed by Mario Testino, this campaign is effortlessly fresh and young – it makes me wanna run out to grab myself a purple check trench. Hmm, make that two.

Fash-Video: Art of the Trench x The Sartoralist

Burberry’s Art of the Trench interview with Scott Schuman (The Sartoralist)

I’m sleepy. Fash-Style has been keeping me up. Work. Pole. Everything. Exhausted. Here’s something to kick start my day together with my cup of Nespresso latte specially made by Bubster: An interview with Scott Schuman a.k.a. The Sartoralist about Burberry’s Art of the Trench website.

It’s amazing how a single piece of trench can be re-interpreted so differently by various individuals around the world. It’s good to hear the man talk about his work and also how this project came about. The Sartoralist is currently in Australia on his book tour. I wish he makes his way to Singapore *fingers crossed* I’m sure you’ll get a healthy long queue.

Happy Thursday! (I can smell the weekend already).

Fash-E’s Top 3 Party Clutches

It’s 15 days to Christmas and yes, it’s party party party! I personally do not own clutches or party bags – which is why I’ve been doing some research on pretty clutches to invest. Let’s see, my criteria is simple. It has to be classic yet modern. It has to be beautiful yet practical. It has to be able to fit all party occasions (or some). I’m sure I’ll need more than one but I’ve to start somewhere. Here’s what I’m looking at:

Bottega Veneta Nero Galuchat Knot

Bottega-Veneta-Nero-Mineral-Galuchat-Knot

From the Bottega Veneta Spring/Summer 2010 collection. I immediately fell in love with this beauty. It would be perfect pair with my evening dresses. As seen on Leighton Meester, this one is definitely an investment piece. I’m a fan of bling bling.

Mulberry Oversized Ava Clutch

Mulberry-Oversized-Ava-Cutch

The Mulberry oversized Ava clutch is simple yet chic. This could be a great alternative to your regular office handbag – plus, you can carry it through to your girl’s night out. Nice! I wanna get it! Let’s see, maybe the Alexa comes first.

Marc Jacobs “Night in Rio” Swarovski-studded Clutch

Yes, more bling! I don’t think anyone can go wrong with black and bling. This swarovski-studded clutch by Marc Jacobs is ideal for the casual night out.

Do you have your favourite party clutches? Share them!

Peace and Love: Lara Stone for Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2010

Bye Bye, Miss America Pie. Make way for Miss Hot Lips, one of the industry’s most sought-after model Lara Stone. Photographed by Steven Meisel, Lara Stone is the new face of Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2010 ad campaign. Creative Director Marc Jacobs was looking for “modern, iconic, sexy beauty” and he found Lara Stone. Excellent choice, I say. “It was a wonderful shoot,” continues Marc Jacobs. “Doves were flying, the atmosphere was sexy and magical, and the result is a set of images that are desirable, colorful, whimsical and, of course, luxurious.” In this campaign, Lara Stone channels Brigitte Bardot as she sprawled beautifully on a bed of moss, fern and doves. Featuring the “metallic Monogram canvas and sun-bleached Monogram denim bags, furry foxtail charms, hardware-inspired jewelry and wooden clogs embellished with rustic tufts of fur”, this ethereal ad campaign definitely looks better than the last season – at least to me. Do you like it?

Paris Shanghai, A Fantasy: Chanel Pre-Fall 2010

Inspired by the imagined Coco Chanel’s wanderlust to China, Chanel Pre-Fall 2010 collection walked down the runway against a stunning backdrop of the Huangpu river and Shanghai’s sparkling skyline. Staying true to Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld presented a collection of “sharp tweeds in white and evergreen, edged in black; pushing the office girl into the night, he tossed slim little jackets over leather leggings”. The Asian elements came across strongly throughout the collection with the details, embellishments, accessories and also the qipao inspired pieces. Beautiful… Beautiful… I can’t describe it better. It would be literally a dream for moi to attend a Chanel runway show. I truly hope that ‘one day’ would come.
