Surprise! It’s My Hen’s Night!

hen-night-1

I LOVE MY GIRLFRIENDS!

One of the things I miss about my life in Malaysia are my girlfriends. I’m so glad that Jan did such an awesome job in organizing my hen’s night. If you’re reading this, *BIG HUG* you totally rock! It was probably the BEST NIGHT OUT I’ve ever had in Singapore (as a single lady!). My girlfriends from Malaysia flew down to Singapore to surprise me and boy, I was super surprised that I cried! I know, I know. It was the best surprise ever… I was totally caught off guard! There is nothing better than awesome company :D Then, these girls tortured me the whole night with naughty games (which I will not reveal!)… but it was all in the name of “fun”.

We kicked start the night with dinner at The Screening Room. The food & wine were yum!

hen-night-3

Then, we head down to Hard Rock Cafe to do the “deed” – ugh, horrible! horrible!

hen-night-4

After that, we head down for some laughs at Kumar’s show at 3 Monkeys.

And yes, more bad sttttuuuufffff!

hen-night-5

Do you like my GIGANTIC diamond ring? I loveeee it!

Eventually we head down to Clarke Quay to check out the night life – yes, we had a long, long night of fun! Oh man, I wish all my girlfriends are living in Singapore. We used to say that we would be housemates and live like the sitcom, “Friends” - well, we all went our separate ways after high school. It was great to have them all over the weekend. BEST. WEEKEND. EVER.

ck Calvin Klein Spring 2010 at Queenstown Remand Prison

Firstly, I had a blast tonight at Queenstown Remand Prison – yes, you heard me! PRISON! This is like my “Prison Break” moment while sipping champagne (so glam right?). ck Calvin Klein presented their Spring 2010 collection with a special installation by artist Geoff Ang. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take pictures *boo* – there were models standing in a row on a raised platform like statues. I felt sorry for them for standing in the same position for such a long period of time! It was pretty novel, I’ve to say. I was just excited to be in the prison – I mean, you’ve to applaud the creative team for bringing a high-end party into a venue that not everyone has never seen before. Bagaholicboy and Carlos from Vogueite were there as well – and boy, we had a great time. The perfect end to my very long week! TGIF!

A not-so-long wait before we enter the venue.

ck-queenstown-remand-prison-show-2

There was no red carpet. Everyone enters the venue via the side door. Including Mediacorp artiste, Cynthia Koh!

ck-queenstown-remand-prison-show-12

Ooh, we are all going behind bars!

ck-queenstown-remand-prison-show-3

The entire place was constructed and painted in white for this event. Yes, aircon!

ck-queenstown-remand-prison-show-4

See the models in red? We couldn’t take pictures beyond the bars. Boo.

ck-queenstown-remand-prison-show-5

Carlos and I. I had a lil’ too much champagne already.

ck-queenstown-remand-prison-show-6

Spotted! Ethan Ruan or Xiao Tian, Taiwanese hearthrob actor/model. HOT!

ck-queenstown-remand-prison-show-7

Look at the open showers! I got stopped for trying to go nearer to take picture :P

ck-queenstown-remand-prison-show-8

I bumped into Joyce from Her World. I first met her at pole dance class, hehehe.

ck-queenstown-remand-prison-show-9

Look at the crowd! This is a great party, or what?

ck-queenstown-remand-prison-show-10

O.M.G. I spotted NYU Tisch Asia students who gatecrashed the party for free booze.

ck-queenstown-remand-prison-show-13

Look who escaped from prison. Tsk Tsk.

Bye! Bye! Queenstown Remand Prison will be torn down after this event.

It was a great party to end the legend of this prison. And my week :D

Bed-Blogging: Yeah Yeah Yeahs

OH YEAH. This is a whole new level of blogging for me – from my iPhone! I just downloaded the new Wordpress app and boy, I’m impressed. I’m a little drunk from my Kyoto green tea umeshu and pretty high from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs gig at the Esplanade concert hall.

Karen O and the band were electrifying! You’ve no idea how badly I wanted to see the band. They are probably on top of my list of ‘live’ acts to see before I die besides The Beatles (which is highly unachievable at this rate). I literally died when I got my VIP box tickets from a friend’s friend. I mean awesome seats.

2010 couldn’t be better. Well I bet things would be even more awesome if positive energy continues flowing. I’ve nothing fashiony to report except I totally dig Karen O’s leggings and everything about her is fabulous. Alright, time for bed. I’m starting to see stars. Who knows? Heads will roll :)

Prada Tessuto Nappa Hobo

Rule #1: The early bird doesn’t catches the worm in the fashion world. In short, never be early for any fashion event. I hate being late, so I’m always on-time or slightly early. I attended the Prada official opening & book launch event yesterday with MyManyBags and Bagaholicboy – and yes, we were on-time. The massive double-storey Prada flagship store filled up pretty quickly with tai-tais, celebrities and familiar faces from the fashion industry.

prada-opening-ion-orchard-3

Spotted: VJ Denise Keller all decked up in Prada from head-to-toe and Singapore Idol judge, Dick Lee sipping champagne… Oh, Dr Georgia Lee looked stunning in a gold number. Models paraded around the store in the latest collection. One of the models were spinning music – and boy, I fell in love with the white shirt with studs and her blinged-out headphones!

Here’s something exciting: Each of us got a copy of Prada: The Book as a door gift (to be redeemed from today onwards!). It is currently retailed at 100 Euros – this 706-page book is heavy enough to kill a cat! I can’t wait to get my hands on them. Thanks to Kevin for inviting moi – yay!

Tonight: Prada Official Opening at ION Orchard

It’s about time Prada officially opens its doors with a bang. Thanks for MyManyBags, I will be partying at the Prada Official Opening with MyManyBags and Bagaholicboy tonight. Woot! I wish I had time to change and look pretty for the party but I guess I’ve to rush down straight after work. Sigh, I’m living a double-life – what to do? But I’m armed with my Prada Tessuto Nappa Hobo and ready to party :D This Prada flagship store is currently the largest in Asia until the 16,000 sq ft boutique opens in Shanghai’s Plaza 66. You can’t beat China, can you? Say “Hi” if you’re going to be there tonight, alright?

Hello, Oscar de la Renta!

OMFG. I CAN’T BELIEVE I HAD A CHAT WITH OSCAR DE LA RENTA!

Thanks to Tina from Bag Snob, this amazing once-in-a-lifetime chat opportunity came for me! I’m usually in bed at this hour but hey, you don’t get to chat with one of the best fashion designers in the world every day no? Oscar de la Renta needs no introduction. I literally “died” when he answered some of my questions  – especially when he asked “what is your blog?”

On Wedding Dresses

I told Oscar that I love Katherine Heigl’s off-shoulder wedding dress and explained my body shape. He said the mermaid silhouette would be perfect for straight figure. It will add curves to my straight body. There you go. I want to wear Oscar de la Renta for my wedding.

On Floral Prints

Oscar said that he is very much inspired by floral prints. His Spring 2010 collection is inspired by his garden (because of his love for gardening). I asked him what his favourite flowers are – he said Gardenia and flowers from the Caribbean. He is also a painter, thus his floral prints are almost like art.

On Exotic Skins

His choice for exotic skins include python, watersnake, lizards and *I honestly don’t remember*. Well, I wish I saved the chat log! Designing accessories is something fairly new to him but he loves exotic skins because it feels luxurious. Well, Oscar de la Renta is all about elegance and luxury no?

On Anna Wintour

He adores Anna Wintour… and of course, he appeared in the documentary film, The September Issue. He values her opinion when she visits him in the studio. I asked how he handles negative comments on his collection and whether he takes them into design consideration. He said that he values constructive criticism which drives him to work harder. Ultimately, it is more important when customers buy his collection. That’s how he measures his success rate.

Of course, the one-hour chat with Oscar de la Renta covered other topics as well. Thanks for organizing this, Bag Snob! I can have a good night’s sleep now.

From My Lil’ Cam: Burberry Official Opening

One of the best nights ever: Burberry Official Opening at ION Orchard. As you know, I’m my own photographer – so I carry my lil’ camera around with me and my iPhone during this event. Take a look at my gallery and spot celebrities like Christopher Bailey, Li Bing Bing, Liu Wen, Zoe Tay, Amy Cheng, Allan Wu, Joi Chua and etc. I didn’t manage to capture Won Bin with my camera because I almost didn’t recognize him! I don’t know if it’s a good or bad thing. Enjoy the pictures!
