Crabtree & Evelyn: Secret Garden Christmas Collection

It’s the time of the year, once again. The season of gifting is just around the corner and it’s never too early to shop. Crabtree & Evelyn‘s Secret Garden Christmas Collection is inspired by the wonder of an undiscovered English winter garden. The key product this season is the Festive Home Fragrances which feature warm, evocative scents reminiscent of winter fruits and spices, carefully selected and plucked fresh from the garden, accompanied by playful yet delectable treats to indulge in. You will be spoilt with Crabtree & Evelyn‘s wide assortment of gifts for all ages and price points, housed in limited edition keepsake boxes and bags complete with this year’s beautiful Secret Garden illustration.

At the media preview, we were treated with a cup of hot tea and Crabtree & Evelyn‘s ginger spice and Christmas cookies. I fell in love with the rich, hearty Gilded Chestnut home fragrance spray (S$30) which I knew I had to get! I couldn’t resist getting Rosewater Duo and Lily Duo (S$65 each) for my family in New Zealand. I believe I’ll be back for more.

Lana Del Rey in Singapore: Mulberry’s First Asian Flagship Store at Mandarin Gallery

Hands down, this is THE event of the week. American songstress, Lana Del Rey was in Singapore for to celebrate the opening of Mulberry‘s first Asian flagship store at Mandarin Gallery, Singapore. The singer inspired the Del Rey bag and the limited edition Club21 Del Rey will be available in Singapore first before anywhere else. Thanks to Club21 for the fabulous invitation (I couldn’t be more thankful!) to meet Lana Del Rey in person. I swear I was shaking like a fangirl when I took a quick photo with her. Fans were parked outside the store and collectively sang her entire album’s songs. It was insane! It’s lovely to see how friendly and accommodating Lana Del Rey is when it comes to her fans’ requests. Now, that’s a real star. Here are some photos from the night (and it was definitely to be remembered):

Singapore’s DEPRESSION & Dresstonomy at The Panda Rock Out 2012

Singapore’s Panda-mania continues with The Panda Rock Out last Saturday at the Wavehouse Sentosa. More than 1,000 panda fans clad in black and white to support panda conservation and of course, Chengdu Pambassador 2012. I was excited about fashion line up featuring local designers DEPRESSION as well as Dresstronomy. The boys from DEPRESSION launched their Spring/Summer 2013 ‘Blackout’ collection for the first time, inspired by Pandas! I can’t wait to see the collection in person because they are totally rad. Unfortunately, I missed The Panda Rock Out event – but thanks to technology, I could check out what’s happening minute by minute from various social media.

Congratulations to Sarah and Yun for winning the black & white new iPad from my Chengdu Pambassador new iPad giveaway. Hope you both are enjoying your new iPads!

Private View at Topshop with Fash-Eccentric

How was your weekend? I had a blast last Saturday at the Private View at Topshop event at Topshop Knightsbridge with the Topshop team including Topshop Personal Shoppers, Anny and Melanie. Basically, I was invited by Topshop a couple of months ago to be the guest speaker for the September edition of Private View at Topshop, an exclusive shopping event for the top shoppers of Topshop. I had the privilege to get to know the team better and also experience the Personal Shopper service (blog post will be up tomorrow!). The key topic for this event was the Autumn/Winter 2012 trends and of course, showcasing our favourite picks from the Topshop A/W 2012 collection. Plus, all attendees will receive 20% off the shopping right after the event – neat or what? Thank you once again to Topshop for inviting me – and I had such a great time meeting people and of course, shopping up a storm.

Private View at Topshop

Have you made an appointment with Topshop Personal Stylists? Anny (Topshop ION Orchard) and Mel (Topshop Knightsbridge). If you ever wonder what the service is all about, stay tuned because I’ll be blogging about my Personal Shopping experience with them tomorrow.

Top 8 Fashionable Moments at the London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony

There is only one good reason to watch the London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony: The reunion of the Spice Girls. Well, one of the reasons – but a bloody good one. After 16 days of world-class sporting action, it’s time to draw the curtains and countdown to Rio 2016. I can’t believe the games is finally over. The closing ceremony has been an amazing mash-up of British music, pop-culture and all things random (to be honest, in a good way). Let’s look at the top 8 fashionable moments (yes, this is a fashion blog afterall!) from the biggest party of the night:

#1: The Spice Girls – hellooooooooo?

London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony: The Spice Girls

I’ve to say, the Spice Girls all look fabulous and fit!

London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony: Posh Spice

Victoria Beckham (a.k.a. Posh Spice) seduced us in this custom-made black dress with a dramatic fish tail by Giles Deacon.

London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony: Baby Spice and Sporty Spice

Emma Bunton (a.k.a. Baby Spice) in a uber-cute pink dress by Maggie Cooke and Mel C (a.k.a. Sporty Spice) in a sporty jumpsuit with flare pants.

London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony: Ginger Spice and Scary Spice

Geri Halliwell (a.k.a. Ginger Spice) is smokin’ hot in an ingenious reinvention of her Union Jack dress by Suzanne Neville and Mel B (a.k.a. Scary Spice) in a glittery gold Zuhair Murad catsuit (which she didn’t want to take off until the next morning!).

#2: British Supermodels Strutted Down in British Designers’ Creations

London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony: Supermodels

TOTALLY RANDOM. I guess it’s part of the celebration of British pop culture. British supermodels such as Kate Moss (Alexander McQueen), Naomi Campbell (Alexander McQueen), Georgia May Jagger (Victoria Beckham), Lily Cole (Erdem), Jourdan Dunn (Jonathan Saunders & Stephen Jones), Stella Tennant (Christopher Kane), Karen Elson (Burberry), Lily Donaldson (Vivienne Westwood) and David Gandy (Paul Smith) strutted down the stadium in British designers’ creations to David Bowie‘s “Fashion”. I was secretly thrilled to see fashion taking the stage – despite the randomness.

#3: Duchess of Cambridge in Whistles

London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony: Kate Middleton

What is Kate Middleton wearing? Well, she recycled her last season’s Whistles “Bella” dress which she wore the the Jubilee concert. She’s definitely a people’s Princess, in my opinion. Now, everyone can dress like a Princess – isn’t that awesome?

#4: Jessie J in Vivienne Westwood

London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony: Jessie J

#Jessie J rocked the stadium in this embellished nude couture body suit by Vivienne Westwood. This girl just love to flaunt her body!

#5: Annie Lennox in Goth Wonderland

London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony: Annie Lennox

For one second, I thought I was watching a Tim Burton production. Annie Lennox burst out singing, “Little Bird” from a pirate ship in what seems like a post-apocalyptic Elizabethan costume. SO COOL.

#6: Russell Brand as Willy Wonka? So apt.

London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony: Russell Brand

Russell Brand as Willy Wonka didn’t seem like a bad idea afterall. The striped pants and top hat… this strange man is born to dress funny. How entertaining!

#7: Muse’s front man, Matt Bellamy’s Sparkly Suit

London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony: Muse's Matt Bellamy

I don’t know what is he wearing but I can’t take my eyes off Muse‘s front man, Matt Bellamy‘s sparkly suit with a Union Jack t-shirt. Once again, have you listen to the London 2012 official song, “Survival” by Muse?

#8: Alessandra Ambrosio. Period.

London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony: Alessandra Ambrosio

A dash of salt. A sprinkle of sugar. Wait, how about a Victoria’s Secret angel? After the handover of the torch to Rio 2016, supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio came out to party with the rest of the Brazillians. Can’t wait till Rio 2016!!! It’s going to be a big party.

Starspotting at Uniqlo Bugis+ Opening Preview

It was the biggest store opening of the week: Uniqlo‘s largest store in Singapore at Bugis+ will be opening its doors to the public on Friday, 8th June 2012. Last night, I attended the opening preview of Uniqlo Bugis+ and let me tell you, the store is HUGE. The 20,000 sqft, double-storey outlet is the brand’s 7th store and first street-level store in Singapore. It is no secret that the Japanese casual wear label is GREAT SUCCESS in this little red dot. We were entertained by Sixx and Jack & Rai before an exciting lucky draw announcement! Good news for UT fans: The collections such as UT Grand Prix Coca Cola, Metal Gear 25th Anniversary tees, Mobile Suit Gundam graphic tee, Barbie and special UT 10th Anniversary tees will be launched in conjunction with store opening. So, keep your Friday free and head down to Bugis+ before anyone else.

Now, who’s queuing?

We are all starry eyed as Mediacorp celebrities (Dai Yang Tian, Qi Yu Wu, Rui En, Joanne Peh, Rebecca Lim and etc.) lined up with Uniqlo representatives.

Rebecca Lim is one of the faces of Uniqlo Singapore.

MsGlitzy and I at the Uniqlo Bugis+ opening preview with the other bloggers (all camera shy!).

Love Joanne Peh‘s “Hello Kitty” look. I bought one of the Hello Kitty t-shirts, haha.

Qi Yuwu and Rui En were both wearing the Uniqlo Linen Collection. Ironically, Rui En was wearing the same white jacket as I was.

The face of Uniqlo Singapore was shopping as well! I wonder what Rebecca Lim picked.

Do pop by the new and improved Bugis+ and check out Uniqlo‘s biggest store ever in Singapore.

Giorgio Armani: One Night Only in Beijing

China. China. China. The big players in fashion has their sights set on the economic powerhouse of the East. All the biggest, most extravagant parties are happening in Beijing lately. Giorgio Armani promised a spectacular One Night Only in Beijing event with an edited version of the 2012/2013 Autumn/Winter Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani collections for men and women and the 2012 Spring/Summer Giorgio Armani Privé collection in a unique fashion showcase at the New Tank in Beijing’s 798 Art District. 1,000 guests including celebrities such as Michelle Yeoh, Fan Bing Bing, Shu Qi, Daniel Wu, Tina Turner and a special performance from Mary J. Blige. More than 100 looks were presented in a circular runway, designed like the water tank at 798 Art District by Giorgio Armani himself. It is one of those rare events that you just wish you were there (because I did).

Giorgio Armani and his Chinese models, all beautifully dressed in his collections.

15 new looks from the Privé couture collection were unveiled at the end of the show. Of course, inspired by the host country – China.

How stunning. Giorgio Armani shows off his key creation, a black figure-hugging gown with a gold dragon draping across the body plus black feather shoulder accents.

Michelle Yeoh in a stunning Armani Privé Fall 2012 mermaid dress with flounces in silver-coloured lamé tulle.

Fan Bing Bing is all set to be a big Hollywood star with next year’s “Iron Man 3″. She glitters in this Armani Privé green satin evening gown.

The face of Emporio Armani, Shu Qi is wearing a white Giorgio Armani bustier dress with generous skirt drawn in at the hem, embroidered with glitter sequins.

HOTTIE ALERT! Daniel Wu (seen here with Roberta Armani) wore a Giorgio Armani peak lapel tux with dark grey vest featuring a classic evening shirt and a bowtie.

Bellabox High Tea Party with Bloggers

Last Saturday, I attended the Bellabox high tea party with the beauty bloggers at Arteastiq, Mandarin Gallery. Normally, I would be recognize faces when I attend an event (you know, the usual fashion crowd) but I never thought that I would be a stranger in the beauty blogging circle! It’s good to make new friends like international makeup artist Andrea Claire, Yvettia and the rest. So, let’s just say a bunch of girls hanging out over cupcakes and lychee drink – what more can I ask for? Of course, we love messing around with beauty products and gossip about the world. Bellabox had a few surprises for us and my favorite is the MAKE YOUR OWN BELLABOX. I’m a typical aunty – first one at the tables as I need to grab myself one of those Laqa & Co Fat Lip Pencil and Nail Polish Pen! We also received goodies from new beauty brands from Claudalie, Skyn, Royal Cosmetics, Dermalogica, High Tech Cosmetics and accessories from Twistbands. The fun part is trying the products before they even arrived in Singapore.

If you want to receive a box of surprises from Bellabox every month, sign up from their website at only SGD15 per month. I think it’s a good deal for beauty addicts, don’t you think? You can read about my Bellabox review here.

I’m wearing my 80s party frock from Granny’s Day Out – very Madonna-ish right?

The bloggers event was held at the beautiful Arteastiq tea lounge at Mandarin Gallery.

I don’t remember why I’m grinning like a maniac.

Aren’t these Bellabox cupcakes the cutest?

The Bellabox team – that’s the founder Emily Hamilton on the far left!

Every blogger got these bling bling name bracelets.

We got goodies from French beauty brand, Caudalie.

I love the fat lip pencil and nail polish pens from Laqa & Co.

Spotted on Gwyneth Paltrow‘s wrist: Twistband is the anti-scrunchie that doesn’t give you dents in your hair!

I got a bar of Royal Herb Soap from Royal Cosmetics.

I was supposed to have a face mapping session with Dermalogica. But I didn’t go for it – ended up yakking away with my friends.

This is one product which I didn’t manage to get for my custom Bellabox: Skyn from Iceland.

I love these events! Let’s have another one, Bellabox :)
