Thanks to Twilight’s overwhelming success, the world is watching and talking about Kristen Stewart (and her ‘fueled’ romance with hot co-star Robert Pattinson) and her new film, “New Moon”. This California starlet is not a carbon copy of the typical L.A. stars like ‘Paris Hilton’ or ‘Mischa Barton’. In fact, she has got a style of her own (and personality!). Her style choices includes streamlined silhouettes, gothic-glamour and simple but chic pieces. She probably hangs around a little too much around vampires which might influence her makep choices – dark, smoky eyes with nude, natural lips. This cute jetsetter is currently promoting “New Moon” all over the world and spotted in Burberry, Balenciaga, Jason Wu, Oscar De La Renta, Proenza Schouler and etc.

So chic. Spotted in Burberry trench coat at ‘New Moon’ screening in NYC.

I love love love this Oscar de la Renta gown at the L.A. premiere.

You know I’m crazy about Proenza Schouler Spring ‘10 collection.

She must love her Balenciaga Spring ‘10 dress with that big smile!

Looking sweet in this princess-like beaded Jason Wu dress.

Sheer, Black & Leather. In Elizabeth and James. Super awesome.

Here’s another Halloween costume idea: Elly Jackson – one half of the English electropop duo, La Roux. I don’t really need to explain why she’s my pick for Fash-Icon. Her androgynous and super-quiff style is out-of-this-world and attracted a hella lot of media attention. Of course, thanks to her stylist, Nova Dando – her style basically mixes and matches eccentric prints, 80s silhouettes & yes, that heavily hair-sprayed red hair! Talk about an 80s style revival – Elly does it with her unique personality and attitude. I think she owned the shoulder pad look, really.

At Burberry S/S 2010. In classic Burberry trench.
Who doesn’t love Alexa Chung? This fresh face ingenue is young, hot and incredibly relax chic. Besides having her own show on MTV, she is also a fashion model, party DJ and a contributing editor at British Vogue. That’s one impressive portfolio to begin with! Her individual style mixes vintage finds, quirky accents and a little pinch of designer goodies. To me, she’s everything ‘cool’ is suppose to be. And, I say that with admiration. She has too many great outfit shots, I’ve decided to pick her looks during London Fashion Week S/S 2010. Here goes!

Next to Mary-Kate Olsen. I can’t stop noticing her necklace. Is she religious?

Spinning at the Burberry after-party. Same necklace again.

At Luella S/S 2010. I noticed she loves black shoes and her Chanel 2.55.

At Marchesa S/S 2010. Black oxford heels seems to be a staple.

There’s always black in her wardrobe. At twenty8twelve S/S 2010.

At Vivienne Westwood Red Label S/S 2010 with BFF Pixie Geldof.

Same outfit. Seen with Aggy. Chanel 2.55 again.

At Charles Anastase S/S 2010. Black oxford heels again with socks.

This is another reason why Katie Grand is a genius. She discovered a style icon in Beth Ditto, the lead singer of The Gossip – also the first cover girl of LOVE magazine. Some call her a fashion disaster – but I think she redefined the true meaning of beauty. And yes, it goes beyond size 0. Whether you like her or not, Beth Ditto is definitely here to stay. It’s hard to knock off the big and beautiful from the top. ‘

I met a lot of fashion-forward people during the Audi Fashion Festival 2009. One of them is Noelle Loh, fashion writer/editor from ST’s Urban. She caught my eye at the opening show, Christian Lacroix Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2009 show last Wednesday when she wore this striking vintage beaded dress (as seen below). Noelle said she got the dress from Los Angeles (I need to go there!) and it is more affordable than you think! I thought it was the perfect choice for the opening gala (I wore work clothes, for pete’s sake!)… and her clutch is from Thailand. Did I mention that I’m totally digging her hair as well? I knew immediately that I had to feature her as my Fash-Icon. Here are my snapshots of Noelle during the Audi Fashion Festival 2009.

I love the St. Pepper military jacket and oxford heels!

Inspired by Rock.The.Trend’s post, I’ve decided to feature Tao Okamoto, one of my favourite Asian models, in Fash-Icon. This 22-year old Japanese model signed with Elite in 2006 and she made her debut in spring Emanuel Ungaro and Martin Grant shows in Paris that year. There’s something zen about Tao Okamoto that is very appealing to me. I like her cross of modern and classic Japanese features which may seem androgynous at times. She may not be the most striking models around but there’s something likeable about her. If you like stalking models like Coco Rocha, add Tao’s official blog to your Google Reader. Here are some of my favourite looks:

Fabsugar calls her “the Grace Jones of our time, with her dynamic over-the-top costumes that she seems to never take off!” I’m personally hooked to her catchy, dancy tunes. The 23-year old Lady Gaga may be theatrical but her style definitely stood out in today’s saturated teeny boppy market. Believe it or now, Lady Gaga gained early admission to the prestigious NYU Tisch School of the Arts and started penning songs for Pussycat Dolls by age 20. Talk about an over-achiever in music! It is no wonder that she scored herself a record contract. Her style has also influenced big names such as Christina Aguilera. Let’s see what the fuss is about:

Can you see the 80s Madonna influence? Inspired by glam rock and 80s pop.

I’m fascinated by the structural dresses that defined Lady Gaga.

Of bows and black gloves.

Black is always the new Black.

This Bubble dress is the bomb. I wonder if she burst it, after the show.

Very Madonna. Hello, Fash-Icon!

I’m a model, I would like to look like Coco Rocha. Her features are stunning. To me, she’s a major head-turner and I’m a big fan (yes, I confessed!). I like Agyness Deyn for her eccentric style. But I like Coco Rocha for her everything. She looks amazing, don’t you think? That’s why Coco is such a fave in Vogue US – I think I saw her in more than eight editorials. She’s also Fabsugar’s Fab Face of the Year 2008. Coco just started her blog which I blogged about it here. There are many reasons why Coco Rocha rawks my world. You just have to see it yourself:
