I received my first Stella McCartney for Adidas as a present from Bubster in our early dating years – a pair of silver trainers which I wore it to death. What I love about Stella McCartney is she designs for today’s women in mind. She knows what we want to wear – and what we absolutely ‘die’ for. Here are five reasons why I think 2012 is Stella McCartney‘s year – and she will continue to be in Fash-Eccentric‘s radar:
1. Stella McCartney designed Great Britain’s Olympics Uniform
Her long-time collaboration with Adidas makes Stella McCartney the no-brainer choice to design for the GB team. This is the first-time a luxury designer has been appointed to design for the nation’s sports team. Who says sports isn’t stylish? Despite the mixed reviews, I honestly think that this 26-piece uniforms are more chic than most countries’ uniforms – so boys and girls, stop complaining.
2. Stella McCartney Fall 2012 Collection – SIMPLY SMASHING!
Stella hasn’t lost her sporty beat as her Fall 2012 collection plays with fluid lines and sporty collars. Everything out of proportion seems to be a hit as Stella McCartney‘s coats are big this Fall with voluminous shapes (in my opinion, hide the fats!). But, what really attracted me was the vivid ultramarine hues partnered with tweedy browns. The floral embroidery adds a touch of femininity and I love this super chic dress as seen on Karlie Kloss.
3. Celebrities love Stella McCartney
Stella McCartney has been getting alot of red carpet lovin’ from the Hollywood A-listers such as Charlize Theron, Kirsten Stewart, Naomi Watts, Kirsten Wiig, Rihanna and etc. Remember that hawt body-con sheer panel dress worn by almost everyone? Well, Gwen Stefani is still wearing it – once hawt, always HAWT.
4. Stella McCartney is a Green, Vegan-Friendly
IT IS POSSIBLE. Fashion can be chic and sustainable at the same time. Lifelong vegan, Stella McCartney donated eco friendly Falabella bags to Christie’s Green Auction: Bid to Save the Earth in April 2012. This project marries both art and fashion a group of artists redesigned the Falabella bags for this special Green Auction. The final proceeds from the Green Auction benefit leading environmental organizations including Oceana, Natural Resources Defense Council, Conservation International, and Central Park Conservancy. At Fash-Eccentric, we LOVE AND SUPPORT anything green and sustainable.
5. Stella McCartney’s first free-standing boutique at the Hilton Shopping Gallery in Singapore.
Opened in April 2012, the 1,250 square feet Stella McCartney boutique carries the brand’s luxury women’s ready-to-wear, shoes, bags, sunglasses and lingerie collections. Previously, Stella McCartney was stocked in Club21‘s flagship boutique. Go check it out the new boutique at Hilton Shopping Gallery on the 2nd floor.
