Home is where the heart is. This year, Singapore label, hansel celebrates its 10th birthday by going back to where it all started – the Heartland. Designer Jo Soh revisited her childhood days growing up in the rustic charms of an old Housing and Development Board (HDB) estate with her latest Autumn/Winter 2013 collection, aptly named “Heartland Collection”. The nation’s numerous blocks of HDB flats transformed into hello hansel‘s signature hand-drawn prints, “Block 10″ and “HDB Block” in nostalgic black and white. The hansel collection features a tongue-in-cheek print with laundry hanging off bamboo poles, propped outside the window in classic HDB fashion. Ain’t that cute? Once again, the lovely Denise Keller fronts another hansel campaign.
The iconic sheepskin boots comes to mind when you think of UGG Australia. The famed Australian label opened its first flagship store at Takashimaya Shopping Centre (B2-51) in October 2013, showcasing UGG’s complete range of footwear, handbags, and accessories for the first time in Singapore. I had the chance to preview its Fall/Winter 2013 collection at last night’s store opening party. It’s not all about the boots – I’m surprised that there are cute, comfortable flats from the Casual range. Lucky for me, UGG Australia sent me a pair of Alloway Studded in Sangria and you feel like you’re walking on carpet all day. Did my feet sweat? No. I would highly recommend trying the shoes at the store as sizes run slightly smaller than your regular shoe size. Don’t worry about the sheepskin sole, it will flatten down over time. Head down to the stores now and grab your boots or shoes for your winter holiday or freezing office!

Studs or lace-up? I’m ready for the cold weather. Bring it on!

Céline recently reopened their boutique at DFS Galleria Scottswalk with the largest selection of exotics that will make your eyes go “pop”. I was invited to a VIP private preview on Friday, October 18th to check out their revamped boutique located at Level 4 (401). The representative told me that the extensive exotic collection including crocodile, lizard and python were specially flown in for this special occasion. However, there were only one or two pieces available for each style. Fashion maestro Daniel Boey was also there to share his shopping tips with the VIP shoppers. Céline fans, I suggest you start strutting down to DFS Galleria Singapore to before all of them are snapped up. If you’re looking for the regular calfskin bags, just request from the friendly Céline sales assistants who will magically bring them out for you.
DFS Galleria Singapore is located at 25 Scotts Road, Singapore 228220; Tel: + 65 6229 8100; Store Hours: 10:00-22:00 / 22:30 (Friday & Saturday).
“The collection is tailored and classic. For fall, we wanted to create luxurious pieces with a strong minimalist approach. Slim silhouettes are cloaked in a masculine shape, staying true to the mix of masculine/feminine balance that exists in my personal aesthetic.” Kate Bosworth
Feminine vs Masculine. Oversized vs Fitted. There is no battle, only harmony. Topshop‘s “The Collection” for Winter 2013 is co-developed by actress and fashion icon Kate Bosworth. The new collection shows a minimalist side of Kate’s style, a beautiful transition from the bohemian Spring 2013 collection. Inspired by the Piet Mondrian‘s colour palette, the collection features an oversized bag, pointed and high heels, patent belts and mirror oversized aviators in black, white, foiled metalics and a hint of red. Are you excited already?
‘The Collection’ will be launched at Topshop Knightsbridge on 24th October 2013. Prices start at S$39.

Kate Spade‘s younger, pocket-friendly label, Kate Spade Saturday will open its first store at ION Orchard (#B1-27/27A) on October 26th. Since the brand launched early this year, Kate Spade Saturday has been launching new items every Saturday – making it #thebestdayever. Stay tuned for bright, funky apparels, homeware and tech accessories (plus a skateboard!) when the doors open later in October. What’s my favorite item? Too many. I do love the customizable Weekender bag and the upcoming gold metallic Inside-Out-Pocket tote. Of course, who doesn’t love cute home stuff? I almost ran away with the signature zig zag cushion!
Synonymous with Kate Spade, you can expect bright, cheery colors in the Kate Spade Saturday range.
Kate Spade Saturday‘s signature zigzag print is my favourite!
This holiday season, it’s time to go red!
I can’t get enough tech accessories. Most of them are iPhone cases but they will be making for our Samsung folks.
Saturday is the best day ever! The Weekender bag is a must-have for weekend getaways – comes in two sizes.
It’s all things metallic this holiday. I can’t wait to get my hands on the gold Inside-Out-Pocket tote. It’s totes amazeeee!
This Tic-Tac-Toe piece would be a conversation piece on your coffee table. Or you can pack it up for a picnic.
After the ‘insane’ store opening, all VIP and invited guests of Charles and Keith moved over to the Tent outside Ngee Ann City for another level of insanity. This time, we will be entertained with the Charles and Keith Fall 2013 fashion show. I barely made it through the entrance and the show started in two seconds. On the bright side, I had a great view of the fashion show from the photographer’s pit. Take a look at the video I took of the final walk.

It’s Chloë Sevigny‘s fifth collection for Opening Ceremony for Fall/Winter 2013. Inspired by teenage angst and protest movement, Chloë Sevigny puts the groove back into 60s mod with peacoats, A-line skirts, and babydoll dresses in authentic 60s fabrics like PVC and wide-wale corduroy. I’m absolutely adore all things gingham and timeless 90s youth influence in this collection. This collection brings a sweet mixture of anarchy and Chloë‘s signature motifs like cherries and the Eye of Horus.
The entire collection is available online at www.openingceremony.us.

Who would have thought that scarabs and beetles will win my heart? Tory Burch Fall 2013 collection features the sacred ancient Egyptian icon, the scarab and beetles as graphic patterns on blouses, t-shirts, bags, scarves and jewel-like embellishments on sweaters and silk skirts. As a symbol for goodluck, I can’t wait to get my hands on these beetle prints – I’m thinking of the Multi-Beetle iPhone 5 hard case. What’s your favourite?
“I’ve always been drawn to scarabs and beetles — they appeared in our very first collection and we brought them back for Fall 2013 in new ways. We created fun graphic patterns with them on blouses, t-shirts and bags and used them as jewel-like embellishments on sweaters and silk skirts. We also did dragonflies, which are so elegant, and turned them into details on a heel. Scarabs, dragonflies and bugs have such a rich historic history, from inspiring Art Nouveau artists like René Lalique to their importance as ancient Egyptian talismans.” - Tory Burch
I am in love with this silk georgette Jasmine Top with scarab motif. You can wear it formal or dress it down for the weekend.
Oh my, I need to get one of these adorable iPhone 5 cases! Don’t they look like delicious science experiments?

“I don’t give a damn ’bout my bad reputation!”
Well, Joan Jett has handed over the baton to Juicy Couture Fall 2013 collection. I had a chance to preview the Fall 2013 fashion film, “Bad Reputation” directed by Justin Wu at last Friday’s collection presentation. Inspired by glamorous girls with bad reputation from Kate Moss to Pussy Riot, the film features models Kasia Struss, Lindsay Ellingson and Anais Mali rocking the key looks from the Fall 2013 collection. This season, the Juicy girl’s LA free spirit continues with bohemian bourgeois where LA meets Parisian chic. Keep yourself warm and stylish with relaxed blazers, feminine dresses, preppy sweaters and silk track pants. Explore your animal instincts with leopard prints which appear throughout the collection – on jeans, dresses, handbags and jewelry.
Available from July 2013 at Juicy Couture stores at #03-03 Takashimaya S.C., Ngee Ann City; Tel: (65) 6736 3597 and to be open in mid-September 2013 at #B2-86/87 The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sand; Tel: (65) 6688 7990.

It’s time to re-learn your A-B-Cs with Chloé‘s founder Gaby Aghion’s concept of alphabetised naming for the latest range of bags. Let’s begin, A is for ALICE, B is for BAYLEE and C is for CLARE. This Fall, all eyes are on the BAYLEE, a bag with strong personality which is supple and versatile for the day. Personally, the BAYLEE caught my eye instantly as I love the androgynous look and functionality of the bag – which can bring me from yoga to meetings. Isn’t it chic?
Clare Waight Keller, Creative Director of Chloé described it, “the BAYLEE has echoes of all the classic boyfriend bags I love. Simple in shape, practical and ultimately a chic attitude. Its design, its signature, is best epitomised in a bi-colour version where two bright colours offer a variety of combinations. I love the slouchy softness of its leather and the strong gold hardware zips linked together with our iconic Chloé chain bracelet”.
