Top of the Class: Look Sharp with Colin Firth’s Formal Look

Colin Firth

If any man knows how to do formal it’s actor Colin Firth. Not only has he been to more film premieres than we can count, but he’s famously played such classy characters as Mr Darcy and King George VI. Although one of his upcoming films has him hiding away behind an animation as the voice of Paddington Bear, Mr Firth clearly hasn’t forgotten how to pack a punch with his choice of attire. Female fans take heed as we let Colin Firth teach you how to dress your man. Gentlemen – you’ve come to the right place for a masterclass in formal fashion.

Painkiller Archetype Spring/Summer 2013: King of the Jungle

I normally don’t blog about menswear but PAINKILLER definitely caught my eye. Inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book, the Spring/Summer 2013 collection, “King of the Jungle” takes you back to the wild with familiar characters such as Baloo and Akela. Designer Siriorn Teankaprasith definitely bring back my fond childhood memories and gosh, who doesn’t need another sweater? I believe the ladies can rock these sweaters with a mini skirt or shorts. Priced at 4,250 baht (approx. SGD210), this is definitely too cute to be missed. Now, book your flight to Bangkok pronto.

PAINKILLER Atelier is located at Room 323, 3rd Floor, Siamcenter, Bangkok, Thailand (Tel: 02 658 1145).

Converse First String x Mackintosh at Surrender

Last Thursday, I attended the launch of the Mackintosh for Converse Jack Purcell Johnny shoe at Surrender (#02-31, Raffles Hotel Arcade). The result is a range of three limited edition versions of  “recasted the iconic Jack Purcell shoe using signature Mackintosh waterproof rubberized cotton”. The monochromatic colours and clean lines are more than just being minimalist – but it is a unique marriage of the iconic American style and a quintessential British brand. Basically, simplicity at its best. Retailing at S$260 at Surrender.

In case you didn’t know (me neither until now), Surrender is the only Converse First String store in Singapore which carries the Converse First String x Mackintosh shoes. In fact, there are only a few Converse First String stores in the world which focuses on original silhouettes and premium range of Converse shoes.

I wish I can touch the real thing behind the glass.

How cute are these cupcakes? I can’t help taking photos of ‘em!

Men’s Fashion Week Day 1: Who’s Who

The inaugural Men’s Fashion Week kick started on March 30th, Wednesday in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. Personally, I’ve decided not to attend any of the MFW events (I’m so beat, really) but nonetheless, do follow the other SGFB (a.k.a. Singapore Fashion Bloggers) on their journey through MFW week. I’m so jealous that they are having all the fun without me *sad face* Thanks to their efficient PR team (Word of Mouth Communications, you guys are so on!), I’ve been getting high-res images and updates from the Men’s Fashion Week happenings. In case you’re wondering who are the ‘hot’ men and women who attended the opening day of Men’s Fashion Week, here they are:

Biggest name of the night: Model Godfrey Gao a.k.a. the Asian face of Louis Vuitton.

No one dresses up like celebrity stylist, Karen Ng. She totally man up in androgyny!

Dr Georgia Lee, celebrity hairstylist David Gan and Chairman of Men’s Fashion Week Frank Cintamani.

Dr. Gerrit Ruetzel and Godfrey Gao.

Mr. Nat Ho, Ms. Rebecca Lim, Mr. Andie Chen and guest. I wonder what label is Rebecca wearing… hmm.

Utt, Philip Huang and Julian Hee.

David Gan and gang.

The fashionable press people.

I don’t know what this is about but it looks like an after-party shot!
