Spotted: Agyness gets Bowled Over!

Agyness Deyn has finally moved on from the cropped hair that skyrocketed her to fame. She was spotted in a lovely New York afternoon with her new boyfriend, Albert Hammond Jr - The Strokes guitarist. I guess if you’re as pretty as Agyness and minus the Mickey ears, you can definitely pulled of this bowl hair-cut. This is not for moi!!

Beware: Orchard Road Hair Invasion!!

Have you seen the Sunsilk Hair Models?

Big hair. Black long bods. Hot attitude. How can you miss ‘em? The Sunsilk hair models strutted down Orchard Road, Singapore in their killer avant garde hairdo as a reminder for boring Singaporeans to step out, be loud with good hair day, every day. Who doesn’t suffer from ‘bad hair days’? Do check out Sunsilk Gang of Girls website for fun makeovers, self-expression and to celebrate you, as a woman of today (Think Dove’s Campaign for Real Beauty - you get the drift).

Stop. Pose. ACTION! The girls have been filmed by gawkin’ tourists.

Doing the Abbey Road.

You can still look fabulous at the Bus Stop.

I like how the models have Sunsilk branding on their hair. And, it’s pink!!

Look Book: Operation “Grow X-Wen’s Hair”

Doing the Edna Mole

Here’s me on a typical Monday. I had a trim yesterday - basically to get my bangs back, and trying to straighten my ends because it’s Operation ‘Grow X-Wen’s Hair’. I have short hair for like, the longest time. I never had the patience to grow my hair - and I’ve even explored the option of “hair extensions” and even Japanese wigs. But once my hair grows out - it’s snip snip!! Now, I’m determined to get my hair to reach my shoulders - at the very least. ARE YOU WITH MEEE??

Here’s Edna Mole - in case you’re wondering where I got that strange pose from.

I thought I looked too funny, here’s a more posey take. Everyone is in a meeting except the useless, but resourceful part-timer. BTW, I made it to MNG sale yesterday - and I got three t-shirts. Nothing fancy, or worth showing off. They were cheap so I just grab grab. Have a lovely Monday, people!

Trendspotting: Hippie Headbands

You know what’s hot? I’m seeing hippie headbands making waves in fashion blogs and lookbooks. I can tell you that I’m absolutely digging this style. It’s a simple accessory that adds a vintage touch and brings out the bohemian princess in you! Forget about thick, colourful headbands ala Gossip Girl - because the 60s are back to style your lovely mane.

Based on Lulu of Everybody is Ugly’s recommendation, Littledoe is an amazing fashion discovery! It makes be want to wear a unique headpiece like tomorrow (if I get my hands on one, or… DIY!). The lookbook is sooo beautiful, and it has such a surreal look or treatment. Anyway, Littledoe headpiece is “one of a kind and entirely handmade from the highest quality antique materials”. Do contact them if you want your very own.

Rumi from Fashion Toast also sported a thin braided hippie-like headband for her vintage eBay shop, Treasure Chest Vintage. She’s prolly one of the more stylish fashion bloggers around - and I really like her sunshine-kissed skin tone and long blonde hair. Sigh, I wish my hair is longer. Another thing about hippie headbands - they do look better on silky long hair. Adds to the bohemian flavour.

Here’s an example of headband crime commited by our dear Mary-Kate Olsen when she wore an 60s-inspired Marc Jacobs headband from his Fall ‘08 collection. The fashion forward Olsen, basically jumpstarted the trend - in a rocky and err… furry fashion. When Rock.The.Trend blogged about this, I thought maybe I couldn’t get used to the idea of a furry headband - on a hindsight, I think it’s fug-ing fugly. I like my hippie headband thin, and pretty - not like some roadkill.

Here’s a weekend D-I-Y project for moi: Create my own Hippie headband. Anyway, Happy Labour Day! Woot.

SFF08: Fash-E @Redken Tribe Show

Here’s the story: I won a ticket to the Redken Tribe show from Asiaone (Thanks to Cynthia!). To be honest, I wanted to win the backstage passes to Thomas Wee but, nevermind. I’ve never been to a hair show before so it was quite an eye-opening experience! It’s amazing to see the hair stylists work their magic on the runway. This year, Redken has chosen Eunice Olsen as their brand ambassador and I’ve to say, she really worked the runway! Well, they say it’s where “inspirational hair meets entertainment” - I couldn’t agree more.

The VIP lounge. Drink. Drink. Be Merry.

The Asiaone winners & Cynthia (to my right - if you know which is me, doh)

Everyone warming up their seats for the show. And ooh, the runway!

Don’t we love goodie bags? I’m just fortunate to get my Evian! We moved to the 2nd row after this shot.

The double trouble team. Hair maestros take on the runway to showcase their skills.

Imagine the pressure. All eyes are on you. As I watched him snip snip, the more I want that hair.

Poor lil’ thing. I wouldn’t want to be in her ‘hot seat’. I’ve to say, the Kiwi has showmanship!

Finally… the models and their finished, gorgeous hair.

Whee! Sparkly bits falling on top of us! I’m surprise at my ability to capture moments. Awesome show.

When everyone was squeezing their way out, we managed a camwhore moment.

Strike a pose! The AsiaOne photographer (I think he’s Benjamin) wanted to take a picture of the winners.

I want to have big, poufy hair and I absolutely heart the short crop hair. Must grow bangs.

Rihanna: The ‘New’ Hair

Rihanna’s New ‘Do’

Once again, the gorgeous Rihanna rocked us with her freshly cropped hair! She’s definitely a trendsetter for hair (sorry, Posh) for the new generation. Spotted at the NRJ Awards in France last Saturday, she looks beautiful in lovely grey dress. She also took home an award for International Song of the Year for “Don’t Stop The Music.” Congrats, missy!

Yours truly is blogging from the airport while waiting to board. I’ll be travelling for one glorious month to the land of Truly Asia, and also, Middle Earth (lucky guess?). Miss Moe Moe and Mister Lawrence will be blogging on my behalf. I promise to snoop around for unique fashion finds in New Zealand. Watch out for my post! (If I manage to get some Internet connection). Till then, adios!
