Vogue Italia December 2009: What is Meiselpic?

vogue-italia-meiselpic-1

Look who is Twitpic-ing!

If you can’t fight them, join them. Famed photographer, Steven Meisel spoofed the Twitter phenomenon in Vogue Italia December 2009 in this ingenious editorial called “meiselpic” for obvious reasons. Featuring supermodels such as Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Gisele Bundshen, Agyness Deyn, Lara Stone, Natasha Poly and etc. These self-portraits are accompanied by one-liners such as “Privacy is beautiful!” (Gisele Bundshen)… This editorial is definitely worth a mention. Yay to social networking! Even the prints can’t resist it.

Chanel’s “Coco In Motion”: Stop Motion Film for V Magazine

Natalie Portman is smokin’ hot in Chanel. Photographed by Mario Testino for the latest V Magazine issue #62, Portman toys with the androgynous look and boy, I’m sooo in love with the styling for this cover shot. According to vmagazine.com, V “commissioned young filmmaker Stephen Smith to create stop-motion footage that captures the eternal chic of Chanel to celebrate the issue. You’ve gotta love stop-motion – it’s awesome. Think Michel Gondry meets high fashion – coupled with catchy French pop music (anyone knows the song title?). It reminds me of why I love film in the first place. Enjoy the video.

Coco Rocha in Vogue Korea (Oct 2009)

I’m seeking inspiration. From anything. I came across this spread featuring one of my favourite models, Coco Rocha in this month’s Vogue Korea. I’ve to say I’ve been fascinated by all-things-Korean lately (despite my Nippon craze). Well, there’s nothing very Korean about this. There is something whimsical and romantic in this ‘Legend of Fall’ editorial – big hair, fall colours, big flowers. I need something to spice up my long, tiring week. I’ve been pretty busy with everything – in a good way. I like to keep myself occupied. People think I’m crazy or over-ambitious. Maybe I am. I feel the need for self-progression. I like learning and creating. Sometimes I forget that I need to relax. Sometimes I forget to call my mum. Sometimes I forget to spend time with people in my life (or out of my life). I need to be more selfless and giving. In fact, I think Aunt Irma is making me very emo. I need to get away.

Fash-Mag: LOVE’s The Young and The Reckless Issue

Second issue. Two covers. I like the fact that Katie Grand picked two almost unknowns to front the two covers of the second issue of LOVE magazine. Firstly, we have Coco Sumner, potential “IT” girl (after this major cover) and daughter of Sting. Apparently, she was photographed ‘fresh from her walk-in’ without hair or makeup by the professionals. And, Alex Hartley, an English bassist which Katie Grand found on the Internet (things you can Google for!). Both of them are 18 – hence, new blood. Is it me or this is kinda like a reference to ‘Twilight’? Ah well. The magazine hits newstand next week – hopefully I get my hands on a copy. Katie Grands hits the high-note again.

“I’m really practical,” she recently told the Times UK. “I go to the gym most mornings and I walk everywhere, so that’s why I wear flat shoes and no make-up. It’s not vanity; it’s laziness. I didn’t wear make-up on my wedding day because I didn’t want mascara running down my face if I cried.” – it sounds like she’s speaking for me too. I’m a lazy fashionista wannabe.

Tribute to MJ: Agyness Deyn in Harper’s Bazaar (Sept 2009)

The King of Pop’s style is iconic. We all know that. As a tribute to MJ, Harper’s Bazaar whipped up a slick-ass editorial featuring Agyness Deyn and Terry Richardson. I’m not sure if Aggy is the best person to personified MJ but, good try. Now, I want diamond encrusted shoes and red leather biker jacket. Oh, throw in a chimpanzee as well! R.I.P. Michael Jackson – this is for you:

All Grown Up: Ashley Olsen in Marie Claire Sept 2009

I’ve been catching ‘Running In Heels‘ on Style Network lately. It’s interesting to see the behind-the-scenes of the making of ‘Marie Claire‘ since Nina Garcia’s epic career move from ELLE. I’ve to say that I started paying more attention to the magazine -and the editorials are pretty interesting. Ashley Olsen is the cover girl for the September issue and she is looking sexier than ever, and definitely all-grown-up (as if we haven’t noticed!). Here’s a sneak peek at the issue and its fabulous editorial:

Lindsay Lohan and the Stolen Dior Jewels

You probably heard about the infamous ”$500,000 worth of stolen Dior jewels” from Lindsay Lohan-Elle UK’s shoot. The September 2009 issue finally hit newstands – and we can finally have a glimpse of the most talked-about-for-all-the-wrong-reasons editorial. Lilo probably needs the attention since her love life and career went downhill this year. Clad in blind and leather gear, Lilo looks a tad-more mature and sexy in this spread – this girl is finally grown up.

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend. No wonder they got stolen!

I prefer her in this hair colour than her bleached blonde hair right now.

Watch the behind-the-scenes of this photo shoot. Lilo is rocking it!
