Get Sporty with Burberry Sport SS10

The Burberry Sport Spring 2010 collection is now available. Be prepared for technical sport trench, large oversized volumes, narrow fitted bodies, poncho, a-line multi quilts and bomber jackets. I particularly love the sporty interpretation of the classic trench (for example the yellow piece – certainly one of my favourites). It’s really exciting to see that sports is going high fashion and Burberry has got it right. There’s nothing more chic than light-weight, ergonomic sportswear for the healthy, lean body. It’ll be great if it snows in Singapore – because we won’t be able to wear these gorgeous pieces here.

Hats off to Derby fashion!

“C’mon, Dover! Move your bloomin’ arse!”

That’s probably one of the most memorable scenes from one of my favourite films, ‘My Fair Lady’. I memorised the songs from this film since I was three. Blame my mum for playing this film over and over again. I always adore the Ascot scene – because the ladies are dressed to impress in their fancy hats and gowns. In fact, size does matter!

Today, I attended the luncheon for the 14th Emirates Singapore Derby, in partnership with the Singapore Turf Club at the Shangri-La Hotel. The event aims to raise SGD$150,000 despite the gloomy economic climate. I was very interested special preview of Derby fashion – a fashion show featuring an exclusive collection from local designer Heng Nam Nam Boutique complemented by hats especially designed by Australian milliner Shai Tabassi. Just to relive the ‘Eliza Doolittle’ at the Ascot experience :D

All gowns are created meticulously by Heng Nam Nam Boutique.

According to Shai Tabassi, the ‘fountain’ hair is HORSE HAIR. Cool eh?

The debut of the new Emirates uniform!

I hope I get invited to the Derby – just an excuse to wear pretty hats :D

I Heart Nike Sportswear Spring/Summer 2009

Let’s go back to basics. Because Nike bringing you back to where it truly started: SPORTS. Nike Sportswear was launched in Fall 2008 with a product line that blends the best of Nike’s near four-decade long sports heritage with the latest design and technical innovations. There is nothing more intriguing than a good product – and I believe Nike constantly pushes its boundaries. Not to mention, I just got a pair of limited edition Nike shoes from the Wisma Atria flagship store.

This season, Nike Sportswear shows you where it truly belongs, where passion meets competition:

Purple is the new Black, really.

Can you see those beautiful colours?

I’m digging zebra prints!

This is sooo money.

Who’s this chick? I’m crushing on her.

I want a locker full of Nikes.

Ooh, nothing stands out like pink against black.

I wonder if Bubster will embrace yellow.

Opt for timeless white.

This is perfect for yoga. I’m still seeking for yoga classes/teachers. HELP!

Camping in Style!

I just found out that we’ll be going camping for New Year’s Eve & New Year’s at Te Araroa in New Zealand. I don’t even know where the heck this place is – it seems like it is a trail. There are camping sites or holiday parks wher you can pitch your tent and party all night long (or I would like to think so). The funny thing is, I didn’t quite pack any camping gear. I haven’t camp since what 2001? I’m as good as a camping virgin. What do I wear and bring? Yikes.

I know it’s summer in NZ but Stella McCartney for Adidas running range seems very chic.

I need a windbreaker. NZ wind just gives me the chills.

Bright blue? I’m all for it! I think I might need to pack my shoes or Crocs!

A black & white “chi-chi” tent is awesome! My boy is prolly rolling his eyes now.

Prima Crocs are a must! I have these purple ones – judge me, whatever.

Well, my list is pretty short. I’m leaving the planning and packing to the boys.

Spectacular! Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony

Spectacular! Spectacular!

I bet I wasn’t the only one being awed by last night’s the 2008 Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony as choreographed by famed Chinese filmmaker, Zhang Yimou (director of ‘Hero’, ‘House of Flying Daggers’) and his creative team. It’s simply the best and most extravagant opening ceremony I’ve ever witness! It made me proud of my heritage and culture as every performance tells a story about Chinese contribution to the world today, in a fantastic visual experience using manual and high-tech techniques. In fact, everything about the event looks like a ‘live’ gigantic movie set happening in the ‘Bird’s Nest’. It’s a such a feat and I truly applaud the Chinese for achieving a great new height, and setting the bar for hosting such a spectacular Olympics. If you’ve missed it last night, too bad baby.

This took my breath away. The coordination is simply amazing!

It only takes one person to screw this up. But, you can see the dedication in ‘em.

I’ve never seen so many types of fireworks display in my life.

Flying fairy suspended in the air with wires! They’re like fireflies. Cool.

The Chinese invented fireworks. They can celebrate all they want.

I love the colours, the costumes, the art direction. Beautiful.

She’s such a cutie when she sang and flew up! She’s going to be famous.

Synchronized martial arts display. Only Asians can appreciate.

Love these glow suits! They formed the Bird’s Nest!!

Astronaut! Chinese in space, like 2001: Space Odyssey or something.

Adorable kids from all ethnic tribes in China.

This “planet” emerged from the ground, like WHATTT.

Tell me, doesn’t this look like a movie set? Awesome tie-dyed!

This totally rocks. Every Chinese character box is operated by man.

I couldn’t believe when Li Ning was running in the air to light the torch!

Talk about a grand finale. China has made its presence in the world with a big bang!
