Fash-Asia: Take Care of Young Lady

Five Reasons Why “Take Care of Young Lady” Rocks

1. Balmain. Balmain. Balmain.

Confession: I’m still hooked on K-dramas. For some reasons, I think K-dramas are much better ’styled’ than J-dramas. Here’s why: “Take Care of Young Lady” featuring the adorable Yoon Eun Hye as ‘Lady Castle’ – a rich, bratty heiress with a sharp sense of style. I mean, the Balmain jackets defines the character’s authoritative but chic personality. Doesn’t she look fierce or what?

2. Chic Anytime, Anywhere

Her character as Hye Na has amazing clothes and impeccable accessories! Very high-fashion. It’s like watching Vogue ‘live’ on screen. It’s amazing. You won’t be disappointed.

Scooping up chicken poop? Dress in black, wear cool biker fingerless gloves and tie your hair messy messy. I love her chunky diamante  and chain bracelets. Sweet!

Time to shoot some ‘fake’ birdies. I think she must be having a blast playing dress up in this show as compared to her old role in “Coffee Prince”.

3. Bizarre Clothing! The Crazier, The Better

Yoon Eun Hye wears some strange stuff on the show which makes it more interesting to watch! Her choice for cycling gear? A long tutu skirt. I’m not kidding, but it was really cute if you ask me!

Bunny Ears ala Louis Vuitton?

Too much drama? Wait till you catch the series!

4. Good Looking Cast

Well, you gotta have the entire motley crew right? And it’s a major plus if they are good looking? (yes, shallow shallow me). Check them out :D

5. Who doesn’t love BUTLERS!?

YES, a major fantasy of mine – BUTLERS. I want my own Butler! Now, don’t you have dirty thoughts. I already have one at home (without his knowledge!). Hee.

I want one for Christmas :D Thank you, Santa!

P.S. The show is still on-going!

Bestest TV Style: Gossip Girl Returns in Style

Gossip Girl is back! YAY! Time to feed on my TV addiction (as if I’m not spending enough time with the idiot box!). Thanks to iTunes Store (best. invention. ever.) – I’m able to get my weekly episodes of GG. The first episode wasn’t a disappointment although I’m not sure about this ‘Carter’ character. I will not spoil it for you – let’s check out what’s in style in ‘Reversals of Fortune’:

Fash-Asia: Coffee Prince

I spy with my little eye… Korean fashion has been catching my recent attention. It all started with K-drama. I just finished watching ‘Coffee Prince‘ starring Yoon Eun-Hye and the very hot Gong Yoo. A must-see! It’s funny seeing Yoon Eun-Hye cross-dress as a *eh-hem* boy but she was totally convincing. Gong Yoo – I wanna keep you! It’s a fun drama but more importantly, I was captivated by the styling of the set and the costumes. This drama is definitely made for young adults. The styling was tastefully done without being too over-the-top (think ‘Full House‘, eww). I wish I could show more pictures but it seems almost impossible to hunt them down via Google. Well, it seems like you can’t Google everything.

The Main Characters: From left: Han Sung (Lee Sun Gyun); Yoo Joo (Chae Jung Ahn); Eun Chan (Yoon Eun Hye) & Han Kyul (Gong Yoo)

The cast are styled in super chic clothes (except for Eun Chan). Even the set looks awesome.

Han Kyul dresses to kill – well, he carries a playboy persona. Enough said.

Yoo Joo (right) is possibly the best dressed. I could do a whole post on her style.

Ooh, wedding ideas!

I’m shallow. I like dramas with good looking men! Han Sung goes for the geek-cute look.

wait for it

Bet you didn’t think Eun Chan could be a hot girl too!

Fash-TV: The Rachel Zoe Project S2

It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe :D I’m totally bananas over The Rachel Zoe Project – and yes, Season 2 premiered three weeks ago! I got myself a Season Pass on iTunes store (possibly the best online media store to date). I’ve seen two episodes so far and I’ve to say that I’m still hooked. I feel the adrenaline whenever I see stylish & creative people doing their best at work. I love people who are excellent at their jobs. Plus, you get some style tips here and there. If you want to see the behind-the-scenes of Rachel’s world, please catch this show – because I love it. I may be bias but I want to convert like the entire universe into Zoe fans. Let me tempt you with some stills from this season:

Episode 1: “Dressless for the Globes”

Team Zoe scrambled around in search of the perfect gowns for the Golden Globes. Panic. Bananas.

Fash-News: Bravo’s The Fashion Show

Tim Gunn & Heidi Klum, watch out! There’s a new show in town.

Remember the drama about Project Runway bidding goodbye to Bravo for Lifetime? Well, it looks like Bravo has created a competition: The Fashion Show. According to Bravo, “fifteen professional designers will compete in this fashion creative competition series for a chance to have their designs sold in the retail market and win a $125,000 prize”.

Also, “Internationally acclaimed designer Isaac Mizrahi shares hosting duties with four-time Grammy Award-winning performer and actress Kelly Rowland. Mizrahi and Rowland will also serve as judges alongside fashion luminary and Senior Vice President of IMG Fashion, Fern Mallis.

Each week the designers will be put to the test and will have to face off in two challenges – the Harper’s Bazaar Mini Challenge, judged by the magazine’s Special Projects Director Laura Brown, and the elimination challenge. In the end, America will choose which contestant will have a clothing line available for retail and win the $125,000 prize.”

I’m upset that I couldn’t view the videos about the contestants on the website because it wouldn’t play in Singapore! Irritating! Well, I’m sure it’ll find its way to YouTube or something.

My Thoughts: Isaac Mizrahi is a seasoned host – but I’m not sure I’ll like him as much as Tim Gunn. He can come across as a pretty annoying chihuahua. I’m curious about Kelly Rowland’s ability to engage the audience – whether or not she’s likeable, I don’t know! We’ve to find out. Fern Mallis looks like she’s going to play the Simon Cowell role. Must be the serious lookin’ eyewear. Hopefully, this doesn’t turn into another Stylista and bomb big time.

What are your thoughts?

Review: MTV’s House of Style

Everyone’s buzzing about the revival of MTV’s House of Style featuring Bar Refaeli as host, and Chanel Iman as co-host/correspondent. In case you didn’t know, House of Style initially premiered in 1989 that focussed on America’s fascination with “supermodels”. The original host, Cindy Crawford carved herself a household name with this infamous show. That’s a brief background FYI. I finally caught it on MTV.com and I’ve to say the show looks really promising! The first episode features interviews with teen icon Taylor Swift, fashion designer Erin Featherson, hottie Justin Timberlake and a really awesome D-I-Y section! Here’s what I love about House of Style:

I love the balloons! Bar Refaeli is gorgeous.

A countdown to the Top 10 Most Wanted. I used to make friendship bracelets!

This is the era of D-I-Y. Love this segment!

Are you looking at the prices or something else?

How to be Geek Chic by Chanel Iman.

Learn how to throw a fairytale house party with Erin Featherson.

Food always taste better with hot chefs like these!!!

Bar Refaeli goes backstage at NY Fashion Week with Justin Timberlake.

If you’re interested to catch the shows, here are the four clips that you can watch here.

Bestest TV Style: Week [16 - 22 Mar 09]

I’ve been pretty lazy catching up with all my favourite TV shows. Previously, I follow 7 to 8 TV series religiously – right now, I’m only watch a couple of my regulars. Gossip Girl is always on the list (doh!). I lost interest in 90210. I forgot that Ugly Betty is on air now (yes, will catch up soon!). Lipstick Jungle is off air. Hmm, I should really check out new shows like Bar Refaeli and Chanel Iman’s new MTV show, House of Style. Talk about resurrecting old classic MTV favourites! I’m gonna tune in now. Meanwhile, do check out the bestest TV style (yes, we’re back!):

Gossip Girl: “The Age of Dissonance”

It’s time for theatrical style. With costumes like these, I’m up for drama!

Blair is gorgeous. Dan is annoying.

The boys look hot for once. Is it me or are they losing their sex appeal?

Two annoying characteres who deserve each other. Totally.
