Miss MM turned “21″ again!

It’s another birthday! This year, we hung out at Haji Lane area to celebrate Moe Moe’s “Forever 21″. A group of not-so-strangers gathered at Cafe Le Caire for a scrumptuous Middle Eastern dinner before we hopped over to Blu Jaz Cafe for ice cold beer. DBS organised The Live Fresh Bash along the stretch of Haji Lane and I’ve never witnessed such crowd like that! Here’s a quick flash back of last Saturday night:

Happy Birthday, MM!!

This cracks me up. Family portrait man!!

Hey, pretty ladies.

The hot, new couple in town.

Weekend in Mono

Weekends are too short. They come and go before you can even enjoy it. I spent my weekend in the company of friends and a significant other. I also celebrated by belated birthday with some old friends. Then I took a new colleague out on his first night out in Singapore (fresh from NY!). BTW, yours truly is on a job hunt. It’s not because I hate my job (In fact, I enjoy it very much!) but I would like to work full-time instead. I welcome any leads for an exciting new opportunities/freelance projects - writing, fashion-related, public relations, marketing etc. Do email me at xwen@fash-eccentric.com if you know any company that is in need of a hardworking, motivated Mass Communicator. I’m open for discussion and I’ll even buy you coffee :)

Pretty in Pink: Birthday Gift #3

Bubster surprised me yesterday with a bouquet of pink tulips! Aww. Tulips are my favourite and it was also the first flower he gave me on our second date (later I found out, he bought the tulip from Cold Storage!). Basically, HK trip is my birthday present too. I was lookin’ very unglam from cooking dinner so I didn’t manage to pose with my flowers.

It’s a pity that we’re flying to HK and the tulips will just fade away at home. Oh well. They’re immortalised in photos! What a nice surprise.

Hong Kong, Here I Come!

It’s my BIRTHDAY!

All my bags are packed, I’m ready to go - not for another 6 more hours. Yours truly has finally hit quarter-life fabulosity, and I definitely feel good about it. Let’s see, it has been 3 years since my last trip to HK and this also marks my 3rd time to the country of awesome food, shopping and Mickey Mouse. I haven’t really plan my itinerary for the next four days but I’ll get around to it - on the plane.

Thanks to Wottoncool’s HK shopping and eating guide - I don’t have to do much research this time. The last time, I spend most of the time stumbling around shops in Causeway Bay and Temple Street with my Lonely Planet. I plan to catch Cirque du Soleil’s Zaia in The Venetian Macau on Thursday if possible. Not sure about Shenzhen yet, but might make a trip there if time permits. Ooh, I can’t wait already!!

That’s me with Mickey and Minnie in 2005. I know, I’ve changed.

You’ve Got Mail!: Birthday Gift #2

I haven’t had the best couple of days and Bubster cheered me up this morning with a surprise package from his mum, dad and grandma! YEAH! More pressies! It was really sweet of them to send me an early birthday present from NZ. I really love the wrapper as well - pink and stilletos! What could it beee?

I’ve got a red bag, a pretty floral print dress from Jay Jays, a pink flower necklace from Karma (Silver Moon) and the most adorable birthday card! I miss Bubster’s parents and grandma - his grandma is soo cool, and full of life. I wanna be her at her age - traveling, shopping and all. She loves shopping too - haha.

Here’s a closeup of the necklace and the floral print. Simple, but sweet.

I know, I shouldn’t open up my presents until my birthday - which is about 1.5 week away. This is such an appropriate card! I squealed when I saw the pug princess. Inside the card says, “It should happen EVERY DAY! Happy Birthday” Yes, I want to be spoiled, pampered and treated like royalty every single day. HINT. At least for my birthday month.

Look Book: Party like it’s 1995!

Pink stockings from Takashimaya

My friend, Reena turned 25 yesterday and we celebrated with a lovely dinner at Aangan North Indian Restaurant at Excelsoir Shopping Center. It is arguably the best North Indian food I’ve ever tasted in Singapore - considering I frequent Little India alot. The food is rich in flavour. There was a live Indian band playing. This place screams authenticity. There was even an engagement party going on!

After Indian food, we decided to hop over to New Asia Bar since a couple of my friends haven’t been there. FYI, they just moved to Singapore a month ago. Armed with our frozen margaritas and mojitos, we’re ready to party like it’s 1995!

We’ve been friends for more than 10 years. I’ve known Reena since I was in Primary School. Yes, we’ve come a long way from Malaysia to Singapore. I think I might have tipped over my Appletini.

New Asia Bar isn’t really a place to dance, if you know what I mean. We’ve been attacked by a hilly billy and this desperate dude. It’s Reena’s birthday afterall - do we look like we care? As you can see, alcohol is taking effect.

On our way up to our apartment, I couldn’t resist doing the Karen Cheng. I’m a little high, and Bubster wasn’t impress. He couldn’t stop laughing at my cheesy dance moves. Hey, I’m not there to impress - I’m there to have fun and party with my favourite galpal, Reena!! Happy Birthday to you again!!

We Heart Masquerade!

So, my girl Janice hit celebrated her 25th birthday at midnight held at The Loof! It’s a Masquerade themed-party and the birthday girl is all-dressed up as a pretty Princess! Yes, no one can steal her thunder. It’s not about quarter-life crisis, but this is about the celebration about being young and lovin’ yourself at any age. And, laughing at yourself because life is too short to be boring (unfortunately, I’m quite boring myself). Here are some shots from last night:

It’s my party and I’ll dress as a Princess if I want to! Knowing Jan for the past almost 7 years, she’s the only person who’s crazy over themed-parties and I wasn’t surprise at her birthday costume choice.

I actually bought my mask yesterday from No. 1 Costume Costume at Aliwal St. This was the only one that fits my face properly and it left gold glitter all over my face! I like Ashley’s D-I-Y “spring onion” mask and love that lace top!!

Such camwhores! Moe Moe and I striking a pose in the very cramp “room”… it’s unfortunate that we couldn’t get our feet into the camera. Is Moe Moe grabbing my boobs?

HAHA, we’re so silly! For your information, I didn’t have a single drop of alcohol last night. But, I had two slices of pizza, Reena looks soooo cute in her “check-out-my-cute-ass” pose.

My sexy look turned constipated face. I’m impressed by my very “accurate” lense flare on Terence’s bling bling. Haha, talk about perfect placement. Why isn’t anybody wearing their masks?

That’s Ivy, our very own 93.3FM DJ (not sure what her Chinese name is)… but then again, I don’t listen to Chinese radio! Sorry. She’s the game “host” of the day.

Moe Moe couldn’t find her Venetian mask and turned up with a “Party Time” mask! Reena looks very Zorro-like in her black glittery mask.

The mask was getting very itchy. Surprise! Surprise! Ghim Khoon got the exact same mask as Reena. Fate or what? LOL… they’re both gonna kill me.

These two jokers, Marcus and Daniel came as caricature masks of THEMSELVES! I thought it was ingenious. No wonder they’re in Advertising.

Ronald (a.k.a. Prince Charming) is writing the “dares” for the game that he planned for. Ivy is helping out by folding and hosting the game. BTW, Ronald and Jan are not dating. He’s the BFF.

Let the games begin! Geetha got the first dare and Jan has to stick her head between Geetha’s boobs. You don’t wanna see the next picture unless you’re a perv! Geetha looks ultra flamboyant in her red angel wing.

Who’s the SEXY BACK! Someone has to do a striptease cum dance for the birthday girl. MUAHAHAHA. Check out the Paparazzis on the other end. I’m not revealing who’s the cute bum to protect his identity. LOL, birthday girl looks extremely thrilled. No wonder the people at The Loof thought we were throwing a Hen’s Night.

The Mass Comm gang reunion from the “Cool” cohort. Look at Nick in his Paul Frank “skulls” Pajama pants. He said, “I was looking for an excuse to wear it out of the house and I thought of pairing it with furry Crocs” I’m so glad he didn’t - instead, he came barefooted.

The three “manly” boys ordered MARGARITAS… and “peacock” Ian was proud to present his very manly, Gin and Tonic. LOL. Talk about role reversal.

Finally! It’s midnight and Jan got to blow her candles. I love her really delicious chocolate cake from Canele - I had three plates! Sshhhh. HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY, JANICE! xoxo, Fash-E!
