Sakura Adachi: Cave

In urban life, there seems to be a common understanding that people tend to consciously or subconsciously become wary of strangers surrounding them. They are always balancing a certain level of privacy with others. A bookcase CAVE provides a private reading space within its form. As a seat height is just above the floor, CAVE gives a feeling of hiding from others standing around it. Books can be stored on both sides. Therefore, CAVE can also functions as a partition of a room.

Sakura Adachi: Cave Pets

Being inspired by CAVE, CAVE_pet’s is a bookcase with an intervention of domestic pet’s (dogs and cats) house. Since animals have difensive behaviour by nature, they tend to stay in corner of a room, hidden space and etc. CAVE_pet’s can provide such a private space to your dog or cat. CAVE_pet’s has bookshelves on one side, and can be placed against a wall. It is more slim and conpact solution than CAVE. Therefore, it can be installed also in a small room.
