Bottega Veneta: Special-Edition Nappa for Spring Bud Project

Let me share a guilt-free shopping tip: Bottega Veneta designed a new, special-edition handbag to the Spring Bud Project of the China Children and Teenager’s Fund, a leading charity in China. This means all proceeds from the sale will go into the fund that assists underprivileged girls and young women in education, medical care and job training. Isn’t this awesome? There are a total of 26 customized intrecciato nappa cross-body bag in a new colour called “Bottle” to be sold (Priced at RMB20,770 or approx. SGD$4,180.13) – so, don’t feel so guilty spending that money because you are contributing to a good cause.

The Chinese love symbolism: The rich green hue represents the “blossoming of hope and vitality” for the Spring Bud Project.

Trendspotting: The Maxi Dress (Resort 2011 Edition)

I recently bought a Tribute to Madonna maxi dress from Tee and Cake for Topshop in London. And I’m in love! Right now, I’m on the hunt for moreee maxi dresses. I noticed more and more maxi dresses at last week’s Resort 2011 shows. I don’t believe that it is necessary to wear heels with maxis. I like them with flats or sandals. I can’t believe I used to be afraid to wear maxis – I thought I will drown in excess cloth! But noooo, I’m so loving them now. Here are some of my favourite maxis from the recent Resort 2011:

Soft, floral, colourful floaty maxis from Chanel Resort 2011.

Bottega Veneta’s The Knot: A Retrospective Exhibition in Singapore

A month ago, I attended the preview of Bottega Veneta‘s “The Knot: A Retrospective” exhibition at its ION Orchard store in Singapore on May 11. This exclusive, globe-trotting exhibition was held from May 13 – 16 (sorry, it’s over people!) that featured over 50 iconic Knot bags from the 80s to the current season. If you’ve followed me on Facebook, you would have seen exclusive iPhone (we weren’t allowed to take pictures, but I got permission to use my iPhone!) photos of the beetle-inspired Knot clutches from the Fall/Winter 2010 collection. Some of the vintage clutches from the 80s and 90s are pre-Tomas Maier – notice the clasp not the knot. This exhibition has been traveling around the world since its debut Milan on April 17. It was quite a spectacle for myself to feast my eyes and touch the beautiful Knot clutches. One day, you’ll be mineee…

I heart the Bottega Veneta Nero Galuchat Knot made from stingray leather. Gorgeous!

Did you know Bottega Veneta celebrated its 30th anniversary this year?

Red Carpet: 29th Hong Kong Film Awards

Bodyguards and Assassins is the big winner at last night’s 29th Hong Kong Film Awards. Congratulations to all the winners! Of course, Fash-E is more interested in the red carpet “hits” and “misses”. I try not to blog about the “misses” since they are not worth the ‘space’. I wish I had more information about the outfits on the red carpet. Here are some of my favourites (with some misses in between – guess!) from last night’s red carpet:

My vote for Best Dressed Female: Lynn Xiong

Winner for Best Supporting Actor, Nicholas Tse in Bottega Veneta.

Shu Qi and Chang Chen make a stylish couple.

Fash-E’s Top 3 Party Clutches

It’s 15 days to Christmas and yes, it’s party party party! I personally do not own clutches or party bags – which is why I’ve been doing some research on pretty clutches to invest. Let’s see, my criteria is simple. It has to be classic yet modern. It has to be beautiful yet practical. It has to be able to fit all party occasions (or some). I’m sure I’ll need more than one but I’ve to start somewhere. Here’s what I’m looking at:

Bottega Veneta Nero Galuchat Knot

From the Bottega Veneta Spring/Summer 2010 collection. I immediately fell in love with this beauty. It would be perfect pair with my evening dresses. As seen on Leighton Meester, this one is definitely an investment piece. I’m a fan of bling bling.

Mulberry Oversized Ava Clutch

The Mulberry oversized Ava clutch is simple yet chic. This could be a great alternative to your regular office handbag – plus, you can carry it through to your girl’s night out. Nice! I wanna get it! Let’s see, maybe the Alexa comes first.

Marc Jacobs “Night in Rio” Swarovski-studded Clutch

Yes, more bling! I don’t think anyone can go wrong with black and bling. This swarovski-studded clutch by Marc Jacobs is ideal for the casual night out.

I Heart Bottega Veneta Limited Edition Knot India

I’ve always wanted a Bottega Veneta Knot – a classic box clutch with its signature weave. Yes, put that in my wish list. This limited edition Knot India is a love at first sight. Specially designed for India in conjunction with “The Knot: A Retrospective” exhibition in Mumbai, this limited edition box clutch will debut at Bottega Veneta’s mumbai store, located at the galleria at Nariman Point. And, only 25 of these beauties will be available from December 9. Coveted? Totally. Bubster thinks it looks like a “fancy pineapple” – I think it’s a keeper! Rumour has it that 20 of them have been reserved… and only five more are up for grabs! I wonder how much is this baby – any idea?
