Lady Gaga: Here, There, Everywhere

You’ve to admit that Lady Gaga is the biggest name of 2009. She’s MTV New’s Woman of the Year and she makes you go, “Britney who?” Her musical talents surpassed most pop artistes these days (I mean have you seen her perform ‘live’? She’s incredible…!). And, she used to study music at NYU Tisch – haha. Her style may be questionable at times but definitely memorable. I don’t think this woman ever stop working. She’s no doubt one of the hardest working pop stars in this generation. Let me tell you why Lady Gaga is here, there and everywhere!

I Heart Gareth Pugh’s Macbook 13″ Sleeve

Designed by Gareth Pugh for a capsule collection of Apple accessories. Incase has partnered with fashion and culture biannual AnOther Magazine and esteemed Paris fashion boutique colette to create this collection for those with an appreciation for high fashion and technology. This limited collection includes a 13” MacBook Pro Sleeve and iPhone 3GS Slider Case. Isn’t it rad? I wish I have a new MacBook Pro right now. Ahh, money no enough.

I just watched (500) Days of Summer and it was awesome! Bubster and I kept sniggering at each other. The similarities – kinda freaky. IKEA (when sparks really flew during our sixth date or something). The Pixies (we used to sing “Here Comes The Man” in the pool like crazies). Well, the major difference is – we’re still happy and together. HAPPY TOGETHER like Wong Kar Wai. This doesn’t make sense, I need to catch some zzzs. Joy to WEEKEND!

Paris Fashion Week Spring 2010: Gareth Pugh

Bonjour, it’s Paris Fashion Week! Gareth Pugh, fashion prince of darkness, is back with a softer side. His front row boasts big names such as Rihanna, Michael Stipe, Terence Koh, and Adrian Grenier from Entourage. This time, his designs are more floaty and less structured like last season. If you ask me, the models look like anime characters. Villians or Superheroes? You decide. I am quite curious to see where he got his inspiration from – manga? anime? I am thrilled that Pugh has moved on from his hard, shape silhouette to a more romantic side – it’s like a breath of fresh air. You can easily see for yourself.

AFF09: Watch Gareth Pugh Autumn/Winter 2009

AFF09: Gareth Pugh Autumn/Winter 2009 from X-Wen on Vimeo.

There is nothing more priceless than watching Gareth Pugh’s Autumn/Winter 2009 collection in motion. I can’t stop watching this over and over again. Don’t mind the shaky arms, it’s quite tiring you know. Enjoy.

Spotted: Cocktail Party before Gareth Pugh’s Show

Here’s a funny story: I had this complete dramatic day on the day of Gareth Pugh‘s show on Thursday. I wore my Jonathan Saunders for Topshop dress happily and head to work at 7am (don’t ask). That morning, I ripped my dress at work! OMFG moment, I was like “This CANNOT BE HAPPENING”. I went home during lunch time to try to salvage the dress. I spent a good whole 30-min “repairing” it and I accidentally ripped the other side! I gave up and wore my Uniqlo Designer Invitation Project’s G.V.G.V. T-shirt dress to the show instead. BOO. Anyway, I had so much fun with the fashion bloggers: Laila from Rock.The.Trend, Carlos from Voguite, Nicole from Cherry Magazine, Dinie and his partner from OneSixtyNotepad and the Fashion Nation girls. Here are shots from the cocktail party before the show:

AFF09: Gareth Pugh Autumn/Winter 2009

I’m incredibly wired up (in a good way) about the Gareth Pugh Autumn/Winter 2009 runway show at the Audi Fashion Festival 2009 on Thursday, 7 May. Thanks a million to Mastercard for the special invitation. This is not just a fashion show, but a fashion EVENT. The models will walk down the runway in Gareth Pugh‘s Autumn/Winter 2009 collection for the first time ever. Previously, this collection was presented via an impressionistic-like video featuring model Natasa Vojnovic - which we also had the chance to see before the runway show. I thought it was executed brilliantly with a metallic-ambient soundtrack.

You’ve seen the pictures. Gareth Pugh loves his dark, gothic hues such as black, grey and metallic pewter. I was blown away by the extraordinary texture created with gazillion pinheads carpeted over the clothing. You’ve to see the clothing in movement on the runway (I’ll upload the runway video very soon). According to Style.com, the show uses “Matthew Stone‘s soundtrack, which used a piece of the Krzysztof Penderecki music from The Shining, compounded the mines-of-Mordor mood”.

They don’t call Gareth Pugh, “Prince of Darkness” for nothing. His works have shown the creative length which our young designers should explore beyond their comfort zone while being true to their identity. Inspiring? Totally. I am completely psyched and I think it is awesome his collection has been brought to the little red dot – because we need ONE out-of-this-world fashion injection.

DANGER: Watch your fingers.

One of my favourites. The fluid movement of her cape was amazing.

Men, stay away from her – or she’ll prick your heart.

Barb-wired face.

I wonder if those boots come in my size.

Interesting silhouette.

Those shoes! I like.

Beautiful.

I want that jacket.

Ripped jeans. A must-have.

She had a little trouble walking, and looking like a giant furball.

Gareth Pugh taking his bow. I salute you.

AFF09: Before… Gareth Pugh Autumn/Winter 2009

YIKES. I have no time to blog, seriously. Last night’s Gareth Pugh Autumn/Winter 2009 show was A-W-E-S-O-M-E! I was literally squealing in my seat (far away from my blogger friends). I only have time to resize three photos – so here’s a preview from the cocktail party.

Spotted: Black is the New Black

I NEED/HEART/DIE FOR a black leather jacket.

i-D’s Erika Kurihara and Gareth Pugh were spotted by Jak & Jill enroute to the Louis Vuitton show. That reminds me that I left my favourite black jacket (seen here) in Melbourne. And, I prolly need one for Tokyo. Boo!

I can’t wait for Gareth Pugh at this year’s AFF! Enjoy your Good Friday.
