I’m BACKKK! First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR and hope you had an awesome break (and gaining momentum back at work/school/being a bum). I can’t contain my excitement as it is awards season, once again! As I’m watching the 2014 Golden Globe Awards hosted by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey (such incredibly funny women!), I’m writing my first blog post of the year – summarizing my favourite red carpet looks of the night. Scroll down and enjoy some eye-candy to beat your Monday blues:

Sandra Bullock

WOW! It’s refreshing to see Sandra Bullock stepping it up with this colour-block pink/blue/black gown by Prabal Gurung.

Giorgio Armani: One Night Only in Beijing

China. China. China. The big players in fashion has their sights set on the economic powerhouse of the East. All the biggest, most extravagant parties are happening in Beijing lately. Giorgio Armani promised a spectacular One Night Only in Beijing event with an edited version of the 2012/2013 Autumn/Winter Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani collections for men and women and the 2012 Spring/Summer Giorgio Armani Privé collection in a unique fashion showcase at the New Tank in Beijing’s 798 Art District. 1,000 guests including celebrities such as Michelle Yeoh, Fan Bing Bing, Shu Qi, Daniel Wu, Tina Turner and a special performance from Mary J. Blige. More than 100 looks were presented in a circular runway, designed like the water tank at 798 Art District by Giorgio Armani himself. It is one of those rare events that you just wish you were there (because I did).

Giorgio Armani and his Chinese models, all beautifully dressed in his collections.

15 new looks from the Privé couture collection were unveiled at the end of the show. Of course, inspired by the host country – China.

How stunning. Giorgio Armani shows off his key creation, a black figure-hugging gown with a gold dragon draping across the body plus black feather shoulder accents.

Michelle Yeoh in a stunning Armani Privé Fall 2012 mermaid dress with flounces in silver-coloured lamé tulle.

Fan Bing Bing is all set to be a big Hollywood star with next year’s “Iron Man 3″. She glitters in this Armani Privé green satin evening gown.

The face of Emporio Armani, Shu Qi is wearing a white Giorgio Armani bustier dress with generous skirt drawn in at the hem, embroidered with glitter sequins.

HOTTIE ALERT! Daniel Wu (seen here with Roberta Armani) wore a Giorgio Armani peak lapel tux with dark grey vest featuring a classic evening shirt and a bowtie.

Best Dressed: Oscars 2012

It’s the crème de la crème of the Awards season: The Oscars 2012! I woke up incredibly early this morning for the Oscars, in particular to shoot the Oscars Red Carpet Fashion Report for Yahoo!  (video is not up yet!). Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to watch The Oscars ‘live’ – as I would every year *disappointed* so I hope to catch the later telecast tonight. I have to say that it is not the most ” exciting Oscars this year (Remember Cate Blanchett in that divine Givenchy Haute Couture gown last year? Enough said). Stars kept their red carpet choices safe except for Jennifer Lopez with her peek-a-boo Zuhair Murad gown and everyone claimed that they saw “something”. This is the year of nudes, whites, reds and all that glitters like it’s 1920s. See below for my pick for Best Dressed (I wish I had mention Michelle Williams in my Yahoo! Oscars Red Carpet Fashion Report – but they didn’t have her picture. Oh well…):

I was at the studio with host Vivienne Tseng and Viona Wang, streetstyle blogger. Isn’t the set adorable? I’m wearing a vintage 1970s black and white striped jumpsuit with ruched sleeves from Granny’s Day Out. Like?

Who would have thought that Gwyneth Paltrow will steal the thunder from the Oscar nominees in this daring Tom Ford gown and gosh, cape! Stunning!

Michelle Williams is such a cutie pie and I absolutely love love love this coral Louis Vuitton gown with layered peplum and shiny bow detail.

Doesn’t she look glamorous? Viola Davis turned heads in this green Vera Wang gown with chiffon pleats. Even her accessories have a hint of green!

Jessica Chastain definitely stood out in this jaw-dropping custom Alexander McQueen organza gown with beautiful gold beading and hand embroidery.

Emma Stone compliments her red hair with this elegant Giambattista Valli gown with a giant bow tie at the neck and gosh, love the embellished Louis Vuitton clutch and earrings.

Rooney Mara is such a sight in this dreamy Givenchy Haute Couture gown that featured cream lace lined with chiffon. Her thick bangs and bright red lips are enough to kill.

Natalie Portman took a risk (a good one!) with this Christian Dior Haute Couture gown from Spring 1954. All the sudden, polka dots are relevant again!

Jennifer Lopez made headlines (besides Angelina Jolie’s right leg) with this sheer gown with cutouts – did you see something that I didn’t?

Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer stayed true to Tadashi Shoji who has been dressing her the entire awards season. Doesn’t she look glittery chic?

George Clooney didn’t need an Oscar – he already brought one with him! Stacy Keibler shines in this liquid gold Marchesa number.

Cameron Diaz glows like a Californian girl in this cream Gucci Premiere gown. I love the simplicity of the look with gorgeous Tiffany & Co. jewelery!

Penelope Cruz didn’t caught my eye this morning. On second look, she looks demure and beautiful in this Giorgio Armani periwinkle organza gown.

Best Dressed: Grammy Awards 2012

After a long day & night of Laneway Festival 2012, music fans are not sitting still yet because it’s the 54th Annual Grammy’s! It’s always fun at the Grammys with the likes of Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj. I prefer to call it ‘High Fashion Freak Show’. In a good way (at times, baffling), of course. This is the year of the LBDs at the Grammys – I wonder if the color choice has anything to do with the mourning for the late Whitney Houston. RIP Whitney. The rest of the stars such as Katy Perry, Fergie, Taylor Swift, and Nicki Minaj are splashing out on the red carpet in a myriad of colors and shimmer. Here are my picks for Best Dressed and a couple of ‘outstanding’ dresses that I can’t possibly opt out from my blog post. No prizes for guesses!

Katy Perry looks absolutely divine in this icy blue Elie Saab gown and that blue pompadour! Amazing.

Right on trend with Tangerine! Fergie knows how to stand out from the crowd in this see-through lace Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2012 Couture gown.

Hubba! Hubba! Can you blame me for the wolf-whistles when Rihanna stepped out in this slinky Giorgio Armani gown with delicate gold jewelery?

This country music cutie, Taylor Swift dresses as a winner in this amazing Zuhair Murad figure-hugging lace gown.

Congrats to Adele for winning big! Super well-deserved and I absolutely heart her vintage-look in this black embellished Giorgio Armani gown.

GAGA. GAGA. GAGA. Versace has created two high-fashion creatures tonight. One is Lady Gaga. The other one is…

NICKI MINAJ! Seriously, I don’t like this. Most importantly, I don’t get it. But I’ve to blog about this Versace robe with a “Pope” as her accessory? Too crazy not to blog about this!

Kelly Rowland kept it glam with this gorgeous Alberta Ferretti sequinned bodice, slim dress. I love it!

Gwyneth Paltrow looks immaculate in this black cut-out, halter Stella McCartney gown. Beautiful yet understated.

Ferocious! Alicia Keys keep it simple yet structured with this Alexandre Vauthier LBD. LOVE the hair!

I love Kelly Osbourne‘s glittery champagne gown by Tony Ward. Believe it or not, I actually like Paris Hilton‘s embroidered Basil Soda gown.

Jessie J toned down her kooky dressing with this ilver Julien Macdonald dress. And, Corinne Bailey Rae is ready to party in this tulle frock from Christian Siriano’s Fall 2011 collection.

Red Carpet: 2008 Costume Institute Gala

All eyes are on yesterday’s annual, and very dramatic Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was a night of glitz and glamour in the spirit of Paul Poiret, the “King of Fashion“. No doubt this is New York’s top red carpet event where celebrities play dress-up and showcase designer creations for style shutterbugs. The exhibit for the event is “Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy” – like totally cool (says The Fash-E Geek). You know this event is gonna be BIG when big names such as Vogue‘s Anna Wintour, Balenciaga‘s Nicolas Ghesquière, and Cate Blanchett were hosting the event.

There are so so many gorgeous, breath-taking gowns – seriously, I don’t even know where to begin. I’m not going to waste my time posting the fuglies (I’ll leave that to Go Fug Yourself). In my opinion, these lovelies are Fash-E‘s red carpet superheroes of the night:

Possibly my ultimate favourite. It’s almost an interpretation of Wonder Woman goes Hollywood glam. Christina Ricci looks super lovely in her “sheer coral and red Givenchy concoction”. Love the belt!

Ivanka Trump always made an impression on me – for not looking like her father, if you know what I mean. She looks angelic and goddess-like in this flowly J. Mendel gown. Love the jeweled head piece, that totallyEmmy completes the look.

Lookin’ fabulous in sunshine yellow is Kate Mara in Zac Posen asymmetrical belted number. We see alot of ruffles, detailing and pleats in this red carpet. Kate really stood out from the rest and the limelight is definitely shining on her.

The new member of Gossip Girl, Michelle Trachtenberg gives a golden twist to the Grecian/Nautical one-shoulder dress with cute rope belt. I love the metallic gold touch – definitely a head-turner!

Emmy Rossum looks down-right sexy and stunning in this Phi lace mermaid gown. The silhouette fits her perfectly and as you know, I’m a big floral print fan. It has a corset, lingerie undertone to it which I find it very enticing.

Amber Valletta, one of the most beautiful women in the world – looks crazily pretty in her metallic champagne column gown with mock wings. This could be a classic red carpet piece – with a superhero touch.

Finally, an Asian presence! Zhang Ziyi plays safe in black but this Giorgio Armani couture number boasts “intricate cross-hatching, pinwheel florals, and sparkles adorn everything from head-to-toe”.

On the quirky side, Maggie Gyllenhaal gets playful with Peter Som resulting in “this poufy, strapless eggplant dress” with “ruched bodice, oversized bow, uneven hem, tulle — but it’s very Maggie!”. I absolutely, completely agree. Love the scarlett lips.

Mrs Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes – possibly the craziest lookin’ A-list star at the event. You know what? I absolutely dig this! It’s so refreshing to see her break-out of her sophisticated “I’m so clean and proper ever since I married Tom” into this “hot mess”! This strapless Giorgio Armani dress paired with cool cobalt pumps gets my two thumbs up!

Nothing compliments Miss Eva Longoria-Parker better than “curly pleated ruffles of her full-skirted aubergine Marchesa gown”. We say, gimme more ruffles!!

A classic mermaid gown, with feathery hem! Blake Lively looks awesome in this black Ralph Lauren gown and don’t we love those black gloves as well? Hmm, gloves in Singapore sounds tempting but ridiculous at the same time.

Diane Kruger went short and chic in this cute, flirty grey Chanel frock! She double rocked the look with hot pink heels and pink nails!! This is my inspiration look for the month. Grey and Pink – noted.

Jennifer Connelly steps out of the ‘gown’ zone and create a style of her own in Balenciaga. I love her stunning choker-like necklace resembling a peacock.

Currently the highest paid model, Gisele Bundchen stole the limelight in this hugging Versace gown. The silhouette is amazing and cuts in the right curves. I want that body, dammit!
