Best Dressed: 2012 MTV EMAs

OH YES. The 2012 MTV EMAs is all about Gangnam Style. Yes, dress classy and dance cheesy. Country cutie Taylor Swift went home with the most awards but we are more interested in what she is wearing. What’s awesome about the EMAs (in my humble opinion) is the complete randomness. You can expect the most eclectic tastes in music and icons (The Hoff. Enough said.). Let’s see who wears what at the 2012 MTV EMAs and absolutely rocked it:

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Rita Ora

Rita Ora pulled out the big guns in this dramatic, red Marchesa Fall 2012 gown. LOVE IT!

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Alicia Keys

Alicia Keys hit the spot in this Stella McCartney tri-colour “Miracle” dress. That hair is just sharp!

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Kim Kardashian

YES. Kim Kardashian set the benchmark in this remarkable Stephane Rolland dress with a glamorous train.

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Pixie Geldof

I couldn’t help but notice Pixie Geldof clutching on her Maison Martin Margiela for H&M candy wrapper clutch in metallic pink. HOT!

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Heidi Klum

I can’t decide whether I like this or not (seriously). Heidi Klum definitely stood out in this Versace Spring 2013 number.

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Anna V

Anna V lives her life dangerously in this “smoking” zipper dress.

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Taylor Swift

I’ve seen Taylor Swift in these white, ethereal one, too many dresses. She still looks beautiful in this J. Mendel Fall 2012 gown.

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey excudes vintage glamour in this satin, blue dress. Simple yet chic.

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Louise Roe

Louise Roe channels the glam gladiator in this gorgeous white dress. Not lovin’ the snakeskin clutch though!

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Carly Rae Jepsen

Call me, maybe? Carly Rae Jepsen shines in this Johanna Johnson dress.

Red Carpet: Primetime Emmy Awards 2009

I woke up this morning at 10am and switched on the TV. It’s the Primetime Emmy Awards! I’m super forgetful these days. I switched to E! Entertainment to watch the exclusive red carpet coverage. It’s amazing to have a little glitz and glamour fix in the morning (screw caffeine!). I’m thrilled that Mad Men & 30 Rock both won big prizes tonight. Let’s shift our attention to the beautiful ladies and their gowns at the red carpet:

Is that Sasha Fierce? I like the details on January Jones geometric strapless gown.

Olivia Wilde – WOW! Enough said.

Rose Bryne looks strikingly beautiful in this beige crystal-embellished tulle gown.

Simple yet chic.

Debra Messing is turning heads with this blood orange one-shoulder gown.

Leighton Meester channels Marilyn Monroe in this sexy number!

Lindsay Price looks delish in this plum number. Kudos to the vintage brooch!

This is such a killer gown! Alicia Witt owns this one.

Indie-fave, Chloe Sevigny goes retro in this white one-shouldered polka-dotted gown.

Jennifer Love Hewitt glows in this sunshine chiffon gown. Love the California-lovin’ hair!

Heavily pregger Heidi Klum stuns me in this black strapless Marchesa gown.

Perfect One by Victoria’s Secret

Who creates bras? Mad Scientists? Heidi Klum? How about BOTH?

In this viral video by Victoria’s Secret for the New! Perfect One bra, see Heidi Klum as a wacky ‘Mad Scientist’! Heidi plays Dr. Klum, the inventor of the Perfect One, and boy… can this lady be any crazier! I think she wears too many hats. This VS angel doesn’t look like she’s retiring anytime soon.

Who doesn’t want the Perfect One? I hate adjusting my bras.

Next Year, I’ll Put In More Spooky Effort

Firstly, nobody can beat Heidi Klum‘s costume. Next, I can’t beat everyone else. I promise – next year, I’ll put more thought and effort into my Halloween costume. Refinery29 snapped some awesome costumes which the “it” people in NYC were dressed in, at the Hornitos Tequila sponsored Day of the Dead-themed party.

No, you did not see Jesus.

I see someone had a lil’ too much tequila.

Audrey Hepburn and Cleopatra.

John Lennon and Yoko Ono, I think.

Peace out.

Oh yeah. Halloween love.

The 2008’s 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards

It’s time to honour the best of the TV industry in America – the 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Fashionistas will keep their eyes peel on screen – who’s the best dressed and who’s going to fire their stylist. Obviously, I haven’t had a chance to watch the show YET – but I’ll catch the encore tonight on TV. This year, we have a glorious treat of sparkly gowns, shorter hemlines, usual black numbers, bright and bold colored-frocks. Let’s see which one caught Fash-E‘s anime eyes:

Weeds is one of my current favourite TV shows. I’m not a Roberto Cavalli fan but Mary-Louise Parker rocks this turquoise Roberto Cavalli gown with delicate jewel-linings. This really shows off her body and I want her body at her age, dammit.

Many celebrities are wearing Reem Acra at this year’s Emmys. However, the best-dressed in Reem Acra goes to Olivia Wilde. Her “delicate chiffon and satin gown with beaded cap sleeves” is young, and ethereal – this is definitely a winner.

Rachel Zoe knows how to make her clients look a million bucks. Because Debra Messing sure does! She looks absolutely stunning in this black ruffle Monique Lhuillier with vintage earrings.

Christina Applegate in a “light blue one shouldered jacquard Reem Acra frock”. Simply dramatic! She pairs it up with purple gemstone earrings that adds a royal, glamorous touch to the whole look. Talk about making an entrance.

Heidi Klum is not my ultimate fave, but she definitely shines in this ” beaded gray Armani Prive dress with asymmetrical tier detailing”. The huge butterfly earrings definitely spice up the entire look. This woman never looked shabby, hurr.

Eva Longoria never looks any less glamourous. She stuns the crowd in this “Marchesa dress adorned with an oversized bow at the bodice”. Critics said it’s too matchy – but I think you don’t have to wow the crowd with bold colours. I like it subtle.

Julia-Louis Dreyfus adds a little tangerine to the party with her cut-out Narciso Rodriguez gown. However, I’m not a fan of that ‘hair’. Bravo to the winners! Be sure to catch the encore tonight.

Trendspotting: How to be Hollywood Royalty

Double Strand Pearls

If pearls are good enough for Carrie Bradshaw, they’re good enough for me. It seems like celebs are lovin’ pearls and the trick is to layer them with multiple strands while pairing with the classic black dress. Of course, double is what Ashlee Simpson, Sarah Jessica Parker and Gwyneth Paltrow are doing.

Bright Jackets

There is nothing more show-stopping than loud, bright colours! I love Rihanna‘s spunky hot pink jacket. Even Katherine Heigl and Kim Kardashian are sporting bright jackets with dark denim. Smart!

Leather Mini Skirts

Bring back the 80s staple! I used to be vegan, so I’m against the usage of real leather. You can opt for latex or faux leather like Nicky HIlton. Selita Ebanks and Ashley Olsen are pairing their minis wiht monotones and fierce shoes!

Short Suits

Show off your long legs by coordinating your black blazers with shorts like Anne Hathaway, Rihanna and Natalie Portman. I love how Rihanna paired it with a black sheer top and bright orange heels! Otherwise, you can add a little colour like Natalie with a Maroon tee.

Shimmery Beige Dress

Don’t be afraid to shine amongst the crowd. Neutral with a little sparkle can be very alluring and sexy. Take the cue from Claire Danes, Mila Kunis and Heidi Klum.

Trendspotting: 2008 Summer Must-Haves

Exam’s over! It’s the holidays woohoo! I can’t wait to pack my bags and leave this country. Well, not for another couple of weeks at least. Also, it’s time to shop before the Great Singapore Sale ends. I haven’t been to my usual shopping haunts in ages. People.com has listed some cool trends and are you lovin’ them?

CLEAR SUNGLASSES
Leave last summer’s colored frames behind – Sienna Miller, Kirsten Dunst and Ashlee Simpson take a see-through approach to staying shady.

YELLOW DENIM
Who needs basic blue when you can add so much pop to your denim with sunny yellow? Heidi Montag, Jada Pinkett Smith and Audrina Patridge have already picked up on the bold trend.

FRINGED PURSES
Hollywood channels the Wild West with these bold bags – already seen on the stylish arms of Rachel Bilson, singer Leona Lewis and Heidi Klum.

WHITE MAXIDRESSES
Beat the heat in breezy long dresses in pure white like Eva Longoria, Lauren Conrad and Jessica Simpson. Add on oversized sunglasses and a neutral bag for maximum style points.

JUMPSUITS
Malin Ackerman, Gwyneth Paltrow and Rihanna go for one easy piece in their sharply tailored one-piece looks.

WATERCOLOR FLORAL DRESSES
Cameron Diaz, Heidi Montag and Knocked Up’s Leslie Mann take an artistic approach to their spring florals in sweet strapless shapes.

Claudia Schiffer for Chanel

Let me remind you that Heidi Klum is ‘not’ the only beautiful German supermodel around. Don’t you forget Supermodel Claudia Schiffer. Karl Lagerfield must be smittened by Claudia since their Dom Perignon Oenotheque shoot back in 2007. Claudia is back – looking incredibly beautiful and sexy for the new Chanel ad campaign and Fash-E is truly lovin’ the clothes, and the girl:
