AFF 2013: What I Wore to Day Five

It’s the last day of Audi Fashion Festival 2013. It has been a long week and all good things must come to an end. Pardon me for the blurry photo! Believe it or not, I left the camera at home. What a bummer. Thank goodness for iPhones! I saved this Jigsaw Double Split Maxi Dress by Topshop for the closing show, Chalayan A/W 2013. For once, I felt like a statuette in my mega high Sonance Black Platform Heels from Topshop. I managed to balance my way to the tent (damn gravel!) without falling flat on my face. HAHA, I deserved a big pat in the back for someone who doesn’t wear heels.

Best Dressed: 2012 MTV EMAs

OH YES. The 2012 MTV EMAs is all about Gangnam Style. Yes, dress classy and dance cheesy. Country cutie Taylor Swift went home with the most awards but we are more interested in what she is wearing. What’s awesome about the EMAs (in my humble opinion) is the complete randomness. You can expect the most eclectic tastes in music and icons (The Hoff. Enough said.). Let’s see who wears what at the 2012 MTV EMAs and absolutely rocked it:

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Rita Ora

Rita Ora pulled out the big guns in this dramatic, red Marchesa Fall 2012 gown. LOVE IT!

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Alicia Keys

Alicia Keys hit the spot in this Stella McCartney tri-colour “Miracle” dress. That hair is just sharp!

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Kim Kardashian

YES. Kim Kardashian set the benchmark in this remarkable Stephane Rolland dress with a glamorous train.

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Pixie Geldof

I couldn’t help but notice Pixie Geldof clutching on her Maison Martin Margiela for H&M candy wrapper clutch in metallic pink. HOT!

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Heidi Klum

I can’t decide whether I like this or not (seriously). Heidi Klum definitely stood out in this Versace Spring 2013 number.

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Anna V

Anna V lives her life dangerously in this “smoking” zipper dress.

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Taylor Swift

I’ve seen Taylor Swift in these white, ethereal one, too many dresses. She still looks beautiful in this J. Mendel Fall 2012 gown.

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey excudes vintage glamour in this satin, blue dress. Simple yet chic.

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Louise Roe

Louise Roe channels the glam gladiator in this gorgeous white dress. Not lovin’ the snakeskin clutch though!

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Carly Rae Jepsen

Call me, maybe? Carly Rae Jepsen shines in this Johanna Johnson dress.

Look Book: Maison Martin Margiela for H&M Collection

We’re less than a month away from the launch of Maison Martin Margiela for H&M collection. It’s time to plan your shopping list and hire someone to queue for you (if you’re too precious, like myself). This collection may not hit the right notes with the mainstream audience with its avant-garde designs. Well, there is a jumper made out of 8 pairs of socks. MMM fans will be squealing in joy to grab the collection at high-street prices! I have a rough idea of what I want from the collection – now, who wants to queue for me?

Let me remind you to mark your calendar: 15th November 2012.

Fash-News: Maison Martin Margiela for H&M Autumn/Winter 2012

It’s true. H&M pulled out another rabbit out of the hat: Maison Martin Margiela for H&M Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. I first heard about the possibility of this too-good-to-be-true rumour via Twitter. Get ready, world! 230 H&M stores worldwide and online will be launching this fabulous collaboration for both men and women (clothing and accessories) on November 15th, 2012. What to expect? Well, fashion mayhem… ladies and gentlemen. I’m curious to see how the avant-garde vision of this Parisian fashion house will translate into high-street. Is H&M taking a big gamble with this? Fashionistas are raving about the news of this collaboration. Will the regular Joe and Jane care? Let’s find out in mid-November. I simply can’t wait.

This one-time collaboration is set to launch on November 15th, 2012 – so, mark your calendar!

The great innovators behind the white lab coats.

“We are very happy to present MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA pieces with H&M, offering a new interpretation of our vision. The democracy of our fashion has always been at the centre of our creativity, and the collaboration with H&M allows us to push this instinct further. We will bring together the contrasting universes of the two houses in ways that will surprise all. – Maison Martin Margiela
