It’s 15 days to Christmas and yes, it’s party party party! I personally do not own clutches or party bags – which is why I’ve been doing some research on pretty clutches to invest. Let’s see, my criteria is simple. It has to be classic yet modern. It has to be beautiful yet practical. It has to be able to fit all party occasions (or some). I’m sure I’ll need more than one but I’ve to start somewhere. Here’s what I’m looking at:
Bottega Veneta Nero Galuchat Knot
From the Bottega Veneta Spring/Summer 2010 collection. I immediately fell in love with this beauty. It would be perfect pair with my evening dresses. As seen on Leighton Meester, this one is definitely an investment piece. I’m a fan of bling bling.
Mulberry Oversized Ava Clutch
The Mulberry oversized Ava clutch is simple yet chic. This could be a great alternative to your regular office handbag – plus, you can carry it through to your girl’s night out. Nice! I wanna get it! Let’s see, maybe the Alexa comes first.
Marc Jacobs “Night in Rio” Swarovski-studded Clutch
Yes, more bling! I don’t think anyone can go wrong with black and bling. This swarovski-studded clutch by Marc Jacobs is ideal for the casual night out.

Bye Bye, Miss America Pie. Make way for Miss Hot Lips, one of the industry’s most sought-after model Lara Stone. Photographed by Steven Meisel, Lara Stone is the new face of Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2010 ad campaign. Creative Director Marc Jacobs was looking for “modern, iconic, sexy beauty” and he found Lara Stone. Excellent choice, I say. “It was a wonderful shoot,” continues Marc Jacobs. “Doves were flying, the atmosphere was sexy and magical, and the result is a set of images that are desirable, colorful, whimsical and, of course, luxurious.” In this campaign, Lara Stone channels Brigitte Bardot as she sprawled beautifully on a bed of moss, fern and doves. Featuring the “metallic Monogram canvas and sun-bleached Monogram denim bags, furry foxtail charms, hardware-inspired jewelry and wooden clogs embellished with rustic tufts of fur”, this ethereal ad campaign definitely looks better than the last season – at least to me. Do you like it?
There I was – sitting, sipping tea in my office on a Tuesday morning. My Tweetdeck flooded with a series of “omg omg omg” tweets about ‘the’ Marc Jacobs Spring 2010 show at New York Fashion Week. Oh, lucky lucky social media fashionistas! I saw the first Twitpic put out by Bryanboy and I got ultra-excited. Marc Jacobs has done it again! I usually write like a digest of the entire NYFW but this deserves an entire post! Marc Jacobs, thank you for a completely random but awesome awesome collection for Spring 2010. I love the kabuki-inspired makeup. I love the fact that he uses flats instead of deadly high-heels. I love how the entire collection is like rojak (note: an asian mixed fruit salad) Like he said, “off with black and studs!” I totally agree – even though I’m still in love with black and studs. Theater. Ballet. Broadway. Bring it on.
Let’s start with my favourite. I love love love the sheer ruffle dress – who can pull this off?
I think I”m infatuated with the unporpotionate volumeness and multiple tiers of tiny ruffles.
Jessica Stam looked like an eccentric Broadway siren in this cut-out suite. Amazing!
And look at what he did to knitwear! Ingenious.
Would you wear these dresses? Check out the upturned-toe platform sandals.
The bags! The bags!
My two favourite Asian models: Du Juan and Tao Okamoto.
Raincoat held together by a skinny belt. Bra over top. Interesting mix-and-match.
Sportswear with a twist. Frills, gimme frills! I’m high on fashion, like literally.
I was bopping up and down when I heard the opening song, “Hong Kong Garden” by to the Siouxsie & the BansheesMarc by Marc Jacobs brought to you by Samsung Mobile show on Friday, 8 May 2009 at the Audi Fashion Festival 2009. Talk about a good music lineup! Amos was tasked to film the show for me – not up to my standard though I had to edit the video to 10-min so YouTube would accept it. Hmmph!
My friends, Jan, Geetha and Amos were there to join me at the show. Hurrah! I really dig alot of stuff that I saw on the runway. Especially the black canvas studded shoes – very yummy. I’m wearing Marc by Marc Jacobs – doh. I love that brand – not rich enough to buy the latest season.
Anyway I’ve to head out to Vivienne Westwood closing show for AFF09 right now! I’m late!
New York, New York! Let’s put the gloomy recession mood behind us and enjoy the glitz and glamour of New York Fashion Week 2009. I maybe a little late with the NYFW report, but better late than never right? So as you can see, Bryanboy is swinging his way from one fashion show to another – and hugging Hamish Bowles, Carine Roitfeld and Marc Jacobs. Super jealous! Susie Bubble is mobile-blogging for Dazed Digital with Julia Roitfeld. Let’s take a look at the highlights of one of the most coveted shows in NYFW: Marc Jacobs. At the backstage, MJ said, “The collection is all about clubbing in the ’80s, when New Yorkers could have fun, be creative. Not like now . . .” So enjoy the party because the 80s is back!
AMAZING!
That’s what I’m talking about.
See the Stephen Sprouse influence from his Louis Vuitton collection?
OK, Bryanboy told me to keep this “hush-hush” but it seems like the news have gotten out to WWD! Last I heard, he was still struggling to get his visa – I guess everything worked out after all! Yup, BB is on his way to Bryant Park for New York Fashion Week (I’m a green-eyed monster right now). Wait for it, he is attending both the Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs shows. According to WWD, “he’s set to film and narrate a 25-minute documentary on Jacobs’ Fall/Winter 09/10 season for the Japanese market, debuting in July”. Talk about a lucky MJ streak! BB has graduated from his homemade Youtube videos to something bigger. Congrats, BB! I can’t wait to read all about it, you lucky bitch!

I stumbled into this amusing yet interesting video in which American fashion designers from the 1930s predicted what people would be wearing in the year 2000. I guess they got the prediction of women wearing pants right. However, we all know that skirts didn’t entirely “disappeared”.
I actually thought the heels were pretty much like the heels we saw today!
Inspiration from the 30s? Marc Jacobs (from Jak & Jill)
Speaking about Marc Jacobs, I was at Isetan Shaw last night and I was so thrilled to see Marc by Marc Jacobs opened at Level 2. Awesomeness! I fell in love with the navy leather Dr Q. Lil’ Riz. Ahh, I need another one! BUY ME FOR CHRISTMAS, SOMEONE, ANYONE! My Christmas “WANT” list, coming up *hint*
