Shopaholics United

Ladies (and gentlemen), let me focus your attention on an important global crisis: THE ECONOMY. The world is calling out for help. We need to nurse the frail economy back to health. We need to bust out of this recession rut. Wanna be a superhero and save the world? Here’s your chance.

Shopaholics, let’s unite!

Let’s put our ‘Recessionista’ days behind us. This March, Fash-E will give you the low-down on how to survive the recession and Singapore sales tips – so you can shop till you drop without breaking the bank! Remember those glorious shopping times: multiple shopping bags, sale queues, slipping your pretty feet into that must-have shoe, striking a pose with that limited edition bag, or trying on accessories like there’s no tomorrow? We need to get our shopping mojo back on track.

Of course, we’re not turning into Becky Bloomwood – we’re responsible shopaholics.

Who needs 200 pairs of shoes? In this recession, we can make do with 100 pairs of shoes (not including flats!). Forget your Ferragamo and Louboutin. In support of the local economy, we will buy Charles & Keith shoes or other local brands such as U.R.S., Pretty Fit, Mondo and Bianca. Look at the bright side, you can afford more shoes!

Confessions of a Shopaholic: The Movie

I have a confession: I haven’t read any of Sophie Kinsella‘s Shopaholic series. I’ve seen the book displayed on shelves whenever I walk into Kinokuniya or Borders – strangely enough, I’ve never got the urge to pick it up or even borrow from the library. I remember Moe Moe saying Kinsella’s writing is too self-indulgent for her liking, so I guess I never got around to it. Anyway, everyone is talking about the new Sex and the City movie but what do we have to look forward to after May? It’s time to pick up that book and start reading, because I’ve till 2009 before the movie version of Confessions of a Shopaholic releases.

Here’s the first look of Isla Fisher playing Rebecca Bloomwood:

This is quite cute. I actually adore the colour palette of this outfit. Who can forget Isla‘s memorable role in the Wedding Crashers? This is the woman who and made a baby with Borat, don’t you forget that.

I love the beret. I’m not sure about the styling, then again I haven’t read the book.

Err… what the heck is that? The circus is bursting in New York City!
