Singapore Fashion Bloggers Meet Bryan Boy

Pardon me, I’m still stoked at meeting Bryan Boy with the local fashion bloggers last night. This wasn’t planned.  In fact, it was so last minute that I couldn’t believe everything just fell into place. Thanks to Stephie who quickly smsed me about the drink session. We didn’t have everyone’s mobile numbers so we only managed to contact a few. BB is really really really nice, and I had this misconception that he might be a little ‘diva’ but I was so wrong. You’ll be surprise, really. He’s jetting off today back to Manila. BB, we’ll see you very very soon - you promise! Enjoy my very picture-heavy post:

My lame attempt at pouting for camera. BB is such a natural! Jealous.

Stephie and Dottie from Fashion Nation. Hafiz from Streetsnaps.

Me and TraiT. Dinie from Posh Palette. We couldn’t help camwhoring at Klee!

Bloggers playing paparazzi for the day. Can you blame us?

Stephie suggested that we camwhore with “I Love Bryan Boy” sign made by Hafiz.

Woohoo! My declaration of love for BB.

The gang loves BB too. Thanks to Hafiz who prepared it!

Walking along Portsdown Road. No cabs at wee hours!

Stephie, on the phone with Comfort Cab! Alas, we had to walk to AYE to hail for cabs.

Always a moment for camwhoring! Zhiqang and I.

Hafiz and I. He’s a darling!

Dinie’s a cool cat. Very genuine fella.

At Tantric. It’s getting hot in errrrreeee!

The other side of the table. Gettin’ cosy!

Tralalala. The entire group! I love the cheesy background.

Kissy… Kissy…

BB bag by Marc Jacobs and Peggy dress by Swirl. Belt by ZARA.

Hafiz looked like he just won lottery. Stephie got “poked” from behind.

BB making sweet love to a trash bin and err, what’s that thingy?

Oh no, you didn’t! What’s going on?

Another group shot before Tantric management kicked us out.

Black gloves, baby.

Dinie’s bag is really interesting. Look what’s inside!

Random gay dudes. The left one was hitting on BB! Dark-skin one offered a fag.

It was a fantastic night. I had a total blast!! Let’s do this again, ladies and gents.

Behold! The Return of Fash Bash

Fash Bash is back!! This year, the inaugural event is held at the Glass Hall, Singapore Art Museum. In my opinion, this was a much better location than the last one at St. James because I can finally SEE the items for once. I even contemplated bringing a mini-torch due to last year’s experience. Jan and I had a nice morning swim, then lunch before heading down for a quick shop-shop session. Don’t worry, we managed to hit the books in the afternoon. We’re quite happy with our buys - I was avoiding the fitting room at all costs!

See how bright the hall is!

Swirl Girls and I. Peace!

Jan, my study buddy. Such a goof ball.

Ooh, I like. Too ex, so I didn’t buy.

Whoops. Not a flattering photo of Granny’s Day Out.

Cute bags! How can you resist these?

Jan trying her dress on the spot! Who needs changing rooms?

Our fashion buys! Shoes from Bianca and jackets from Baylene at a knock-off price of SGD$50!

Spotted: A spiffy pink-van owned by Glamourpuss. I need a ride!

Welcome to Fashion Nation’s 2nd B’day Party!

WARNING: This is a ‘picture-heavy’ post, so please be patient with the loading!

Fash-E was at Fashion Nation’s 2nd B’day party at Soon Lee this afternoon, despite the mad rain! It was awesome meeting the bloggers and readers - in flesh and blood… hehe. Moe Moe and I were among the first few to arrive, so we shopped at Soon Lee which kindly offers 10% discount in conjunction with the party (Thanks Sharon!). Sweet! Personally, I had alot of fun because everyone is so friendly and we all share the same passion for fashion, shopping and individual style.

Fash-E are finally “real” friends with Fashion Nation girls. YEAH!

Let’s shop at Soon Lee. I’m surprised at the big space they have ‘ere. First-timer, marr.

Moe Moe taking a break from ’shopping’. LOL. Her bag is hand-painted by her friend, Jackie.

This is the outfit that I dare not wear! The story behind this dress: I won this vintage dress from eBay ages ago and I swear it looked better in the picture. Pictures can be super deceiving! I got a shocked when I received the item and it has been sitting in my closet for almost 2 years now. This is my first-time wearing it and prolly my last. LOL. It doesn’t flatter my body, I looked like I don’t have a sexy waistline. Hee.

I’m here with Zhiyang from TraiT a.k.a. Bingboompia and a lovely reader (can’t spelt her name!). She made this skirt herself! I’m so jealous. I wish I can sew. My body looks so ’straight’ - tsk tsk.

Nisa a.k.a. Perisa Cooper, a friend and Carlos from Vogueite. They looked so snazzy! Jealous. I thought we were suppose to wear spastic stuff. Maybe I’ve bad taste.

Finally, the party begins.*sings*  Happy Birthday… Fashion Nation!

This is the face behind The Clothes Project, Kay.

The girls from Wottoncool. Love the gladiators and yellow shoes! I need more shoes. The men don’t get it.

Check out the kooky magnifying glasses that Rose is wearing! Crazy, but fun!

You can’t compete style with Fashion Students from TP! I could totally wear what they were wearing. That’s Laila from Rock.The.Trend and her funky classmates. The young and talents, tsk tsk. I feel old.

I love Stephie’s blouse (very Balenciaga-like) and Dottie’s shoes. Charles & Keith rocks.

They look awesome. I can’t help but to post a full-length outfit shot.

Rose clipped on her bunny ears and Kay improvised with her err… bag! That works for me. Check out Kay’s colourful sneakers. Totally outrageous!

Last, but not least - I met Claire who’s a Fash-E reader. We had a great chat about Magic Sing! It’s like the Karaoke fan must-have. I wish I caught up with the other bloggers like the Swirl Girls, Perisa Cooper, Carlos and etc. I didn’t manage to chat with everybody but I had fun sharing, laughing with the girls/boys above. More partiesss please! Till later.

This Weekend: Swirl Swap Swop & Black Market FRESH

Swirl Swap Swop, Saturday (19 April, 2pm)

This weekend is going to be F-U-N. Fash-E is going to Swirl Swap Swop hosted by the lovely, Swirl Girls. It’s happening this Saturday, 19 April at 2pm - so start spring cleaning! If you’re unfamiliar with the entire concept (swirl swap swop what?)… the Swirl Girls wll give you the 101 on this fun, cupcake madness event:

  • Spring clean your wardrobe. Be ruthless.
  • Stuff a shopping bag full of clothes you no longer fit into, fashion disasters and impulse buys. Someone else will love them, we promise.
  • Come by the Swirl boutique on the day of the Swirl Swap Swop.
  • Empty your bags into a giant pile with the cast-offs from other swoppers, who, needless to say, have extraordinarily good taste since they are Swirl Girls.
  • Rummage through the pile and grab those items you fancy. No cat fights, please.
  • Clothes not taken at the end of the swop can be brought home and the rest will be donated to charity. We have donated all clothes from the swops to Beyond Social Services, the flood victims in Kota Tinggi, Malaysia, and the needy in Ulu Tiram, Johor.
  • Return home with fabulous finds. Mission accomplished.
  • Remember, it’s all free!

Sounds good? Just drop the girls an email at shop@ilovetoswirl.com to let us know how many of you and your gal friends would like to join in.

Swirl: Natalie dress

Swirl has finally updated! They’re back with a gorgeous Natalie dress which is subtly nautical (and, you should know I dig anything with sailboats and nautical) with candy red stripes and a striking blue waist belt. Definitely a looker! It’s priced at SGD$179.00 - not to mention I bought my Swirl sailboat dress at this price as well.

This is MY-MUST-HAVE. I’ve been eyeing the Audrey dress since forever. It costs a whopping SGD$229.00 which is a little too heavy on my pocket. Can someone get this for my birthday? *puppy eyes* Pretttyyyy pleassseeee… ;-)

Swirl will also be at the Fashionista Bazaar, the upmarket flea market as claimed by organisers. Be sure to grab some lovely Swirl dresses at discounted prices (YES, maybe it’s time to grab that Audrey dress). Details are listed below:

WHAT: Fashionista Bazaar
WHERE: Ink Club Bar, Raffles The Plaza
WHEN: 6 May, Saturday, 11am to 5pm

Be there. Or be square.
