Best Dressed: 2014 Grammy Awards

It’s a golden carpet at the 2014 Grammy Awards. I love the red carpet at the Grammys – it’s usually more fun, out-of-the-world. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the case this year. It’s all about the slinky, classy and glamour because Lady Gaga didn’t get any nominations for Art Pop. Whyyyy!!! Let’s just say, this year’s red carpet is lovely but a complete snooze fest. Kudos to Katy Perry for staying true to her “You’re gonna hear me ROARRR!” red carpet moment. Otherwise, all eyes will be on Beyonce. Just because. See more red carpet photos on my Facebook Page and mean while, scroll down for my favourite looks of the night:

2014 Grammy Awards: Katy Perry in Valentino

This is how you rock your baby bump. Ciara knows how to show off her best assets in this Emilio Pucci gown.

Best Dressed: 2013 American Music Awards

Nobody knows how to make a grand entrance like Lady Gaga. Clad in Versace, she was assisted up on a man-operated white horse and the paparazzis just went wild. Now, that’s virality written all over it. This year at the 2013 American Music Awards – we see a sea of white, gold and the ever-classic black. Believe it or not, Miley Cyrus didn’t come in her birthday suit – or anywhere near it. In fact, she looked impeccably chic in her white pant suit. Scroll down for my picks for Best Dressed at the 2013 AMAs:

2013 American Music Awards: Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga in Versace. Ethereal and angelic – what a shocker!

2013 American Music Awards: Miley Cyrus

Best Dressed: 2013 MTV VMAs

Three words for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards: WTF Miley Cyrus?! Well, the audience cam captured the classic reaction of the Smith family and that totally made my day (and it wasn’t a reaction to Miley Cyrus – but Lady Gaga‘s Applause performance. And, Taylor Swift *tsk tsk*… ahh, what a great side show! Let’s talk about what our favourite stars are wearing (and I can assure you that latex is not one of them!):

best-dressed-2013-mtv-vmas-5

Hands down! Selena Gomez wins BEST DRESSED of the night in this half-exposed Atelier Versace gown! WOW… I’m speechless.

Best Dressed: 2013 MTV VMAs - Taylor Swift

Selena‘s BFF, Taylor Swift may have a potty mouth but she looks glamourous in this Herve Leger by Max Azria gown. Did they both decided to wear navy?

Coco Rocha sported her new pixie hair and brings punk back on the red carpet in this black Fausto Puglisi leather gear.

Best Dressed: 2013 Grammy Awards

I missed the Grammy Awards ‘live’ on television – and the replay. Thank goodness for the Internet – I finally caught up with the red carpet delights. Let’s just say, the stars did not disappoint. I’ll let the photos do the talking (while I nurse this annoying chesty cough!):

Best Dressed: 2013 Grammy Awards

This is totally sick. Florence Welch nailed it a million times in this Givenchy “godzilla” like gown.

Best Dressed: 2013 Grammy Awards

Hello Beyonce… in an Osman jumpsuit! Talk about changing the scene.

Best Dressed: 2013 Grammy Awards

Rihanna, is that you? I almost didn’t recognized Riri in this romantic, crimson Alaia confection.

Best Dressed: 2013 Grammy Awards

Kelly Rowland almost beat her former bandmate in best dressed in this Georges Chakra black gown with sexy cut-outs. Meow!

Best Dressed: 2013 Grammy Awards

What is Karlie Kloss doing at the Grammys? She absolutely turned heads in this bright blue Michael Kors dress and that hair!

Best Dressed: 2013 Grammy Awards

Like her sister, Solange Knowles stole the spotlight in this emerald Ralph & Russo Couture gown with Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Best Dressed: 2013 Grammy Awards

Predictable but Taylor Swift looks like an angel in this J. Mendel white grecian-inspired gown.

Once again… Wonderstruck Enchanted by Taylor Swift

You’ve to admit that whatever the Princess of Nashville, Taylor Swift touches, turns into gold (except for men *oops*). Taylor Swift launched her second fragrance, Wonderstruck Enchanted. Inspired by herself (doh!), Wonderstruck Enchanted continues Taylor Swift‘s magical journey – and I believe she is talking about the first four weeks of her love life.

Wonderstruck Enchanted is the next chapter in the story of my Wonderstruck fragrance. Wonderstruck is about that moment when you instantly feel a connection to someone, but then thereʼs that feeling of being completely enamored – enchanted – when you know a little more about that someone and still feel that strong connection.”Taylor Swift

If you’re a fan of Wonderstruck, you will easily get hooked on this one. Wonderstruck Enchanted blends luscious wild berries and sugar-glazed petals with a balance of creamy flowers and sensual woods. Simply alluring, if you ask me. Good news! Wonderstruck Enchanted by Taylor Swift will be launched first in Southeast Asia by Nuance-Watson exclusively at Perfumes & Cosmetic Stores at Singapore Changi Airport in January 2013.

Fash-Review: Wonderstruck Enchanted by Taylor Swift

I wonder if the whole ‘red’ look was inspired by Taylor Swift’s “Red” album.

Fash-Review: Wonderstruck Enchanted by Taylor Swift

Wonderstruck Enchanted is available in EDP format in 50ml and 100ml, priced at SGD76 and SGD92 (exc. GST).

Taylor Swift as Rapunzel

Annie Leibovitz did a beautiful job photographing Taylor Swift as Rapunzel for the Disney‘s Dream Portrait series. I guess she’s still waiting for her Prince Charming. Enchanted, much?

Best Dressed: 2013 Golden Globe Awards

One word. ARGO. Oscars, you can eat my shorts (ala Bart Simpson). It’s the biggest night for television and second biggest night for film – for goodness sake. The 2013 Golden Globe awards is surprisingly one of the best and most memorable Globes of the decade. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler team brought classy back to the house(sorry, Ricky Gervais). Jodie Foster – wow, you’re an inspiration for coming out in style. Oh, remember that jaw-dropping moment when Jennifer Lawrence for unintentionally dissing one of the greatest actress of all time, Meryl Streep? It’s okay, we know you’re high from your triumphant moment. My girl, Lena Dunham - congratulations for winning big for HBO‘s Girls – possibly the most relevant and truthful comedy of today. Jennifer Gardner for being the best wife by doing her ‘Best Director’ hubby, Ben Affleck a favor by continuing his acceptance speech. Let’s get back to the red carpet fashion and here are my favorites of the night:

Best Dressed: 2012 MTV EMAs

OH YES. The 2012 MTV EMAs is all about Gangnam Style. Yes, dress classy and dance cheesy. Country cutie Taylor Swift went home with the most awards but we are more interested in what she is wearing. What’s awesome about the EMAs (in my humble opinion) is the complete randomness. You can expect the most eclectic tastes in music and icons (The Hoff. Enough said.). Let’s see who wears what at the 2012 MTV EMAs and absolutely rocked it:

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Rita Ora

Rita Ora pulled out the big guns in this dramatic, red Marchesa Fall 2012 gown. LOVE IT!

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Alicia Keys

Alicia Keys hit the spot in this Stella McCartney tri-colour “Miracle” dress. That hair is just sharp!

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Kim Kardashian

YES. Kim Kardashian set the benchmark in this remarkable Stephane Rolland dress with a glamorous train.

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Pixie Geldof

I couldn’t help but notice Pixie Geldof clutching on her Maison Martin Margiela for H&M candy wrapper clutch in metallic pink. HOT!

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Heidi Klum

I can’t decide whether I like this or not (seriously). Heidi Klum definitely stood out in this Versace Spring 2013 number.

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Anna V

Anna V lives her life dangerously in this “smoking” zipper dress.

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Taylor Swift

I’ve seen Taylor Swift in these white, ethereal one, too many dresses. She still looks beautiful in this J. Mendel Fall 2012 gown.

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey excudes vintage glamour in this satin, blue dress. Simple yet chic.

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Louise Roe

Louise Roe channels the glam gladiator in this gorgeous white dress. Not lovin’ the snakeskin clutch though!

Best Dressed 2012 MTV EMAs: Carly Rae Jepsen

Call me, maybe? Carly Rae Jepsen shines in this Johanna Johnson dress.

Best Dressed: MTV Video Music Awards 2012

It’s time for the VMAs! Who doesn’t love watching the MTV Video Music Awards? Congratulations to the big winners – One Direction, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and etc. but Fash-Eccentric is more interested in the red carpet looks. This year, the stars minimized their risks with safer options (well, except for Nicki Minaj). To be honest, this isn’t the most exciting red carpet action this year – so I’m going to cut to the chase. Here are my favourite from the red carpet – predictable? Precisely. Alright, let’s move on to NYFW instead.

MTV Video Music Awards 2012: Emma Watson

Emma Watson looked quirky cool in this mixed print Peter Pilotto outfit.

MTV Video Music Awards 2012: Rihanna

Rihanna debut her new cropped hair (which I think it’s absolutely fab!) and love her white Adam Selman gown.

MTV Video Music Awards 2012: Miley Cyrus

I’ve to say, Miley Cyrus surprised me with this Emilio Pucci gown and that high-flying hair (isn’t this Pink‘s look?). Anyway, I love her edgy look!

MTV Video Music Awards 2012: Katy Perry

Katy Perry toned it down with this gorgeous, sheer Elie Saab gown.

MTV Video Music Awards 2012: Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift just can’t wait to grow up. Like Rihanna, she experimented with an all-white J. Mendel suit.

MTV Video Music Awards 2012: Pink

Pink showed off her hot bod in this stunning Stella McCartney gown.

Get Enchanted with Taylor Swift’s Wonderstruck

Like it or not, Taylor Swift is hot and mega-rich. Right now, she’s smelling really good. Her debut signature fragrance, Wonderstruck is inspired by the American singer-songwriter’s personal life experiences (think of life as a 22-year old!) and of course, the name itself is derived from one of Swift’s songs, “Enchanted” from her ‘Speak Now’ album. If you love sweet, fruity notes like freesia, green tea, apple blossom, raspberry and dewberry – this is definitely the fragrance for you. There is a hint of vanilla, honey suckle and white hibiscus before the scent settles for amber and sandalwood with a hint of juicy peach. I feel like I’m having a dessert buffet when I’m wearing Wonderstruck. It may not be suitable for a woman my age *eh-hem* but the young, fashionable Taylor Swift fans may go ga-ga over this.

Wonderstruck is now available at Sephora Singapore. Join the Wonderstruck Instagram contest: Capture a picture perfect moment and tag @wonderstrucksg plus hashtag #wonderstrucksg to win a Wonderstruck hamper worth more than SGD150. Contest ends July 5th, 2012 – so hurry! Wonderstruck Eau de Parfum Spray is priced from SGD69 for 30ml and up to SGD109 for 100ml.

The Wonderstruck fragrance bottle is deep purple with an iridescent rainbow finish, like a magic potion and beautifully adorned with Moravian star, dove, and birdcage charms. The bottle is also embossed with Swift’s lucky number: 13. It will look so pretty on your vanity table, don’t you think?

The American sweetheart is such a fash-icon. I simply love her cute dresses and beautifully coiffed hair.

Watch Taylor Swift‘s Wonderstruck ad and be enchanted by her ethereal Christian Siriano Spring 2011 gown.

Best Dressed: Grammy Awards 2012

After a long day & night of Laneway Festival 2012, music fans are not sitting still yet because it’s the 54th Annual Grammy’s! It’s always fun at the Grammys with the likes of Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj. I prefer to call it ‘High Fashion Freak Show’. In a good way (at times, baffling), of course. This is the year of the LBDs at the Grammys – I wonder if the color choice has anything to do with the mourning for the late Whitney Houston. RIP Whitney. The rest of the stars such as Katy Perry, Fergie, Taylor Swift, and Nicki Minaj are splashing out on the red carpet in a myriad of colors and shimmer. Here are my picks for Best Dressed and a couple of ‘outstanding’ dresses that I can’t possibly opt out from my blog post. No prizes for guesses!

Katy Perry looks absolutely divine in this icy blue Elie Saab gown and that blue pompadour! Amazing.

Right on trend with Tangerine! Fergie knows how to stand out from the crowd in this see-through lace Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2012 Couture gown.

Hubba! Hubba! Can you blame me for the wolf-whistles when Rihanna stepped out in this slinky Giorgio Armani gown with delicate gold jewelery?

This country music cutie, Taylor Swift dresses as a winner in this amazing Zuhair Murad figure-hugging lace gown.

Congrats to Adele for winning big! Super well-deserved and I absolutely heart her vintage-look in this black embellished Giorgio Armani gown.

GAGA. GAGA. GAGA. Versace has created two high-fashion creatures tonight. One is Lady Gaga. The other one is…

NICKI MINAJ! Seriously, I don’t like this. Most importantly, I don’t get it. But I’ve to blog about this Versace robe with a “Pope” as her accessory? Too crazy not to blog about this!

Kelly Rowland kept it glam with this gorgeous Alberta Ferretti sequinned bodice, slim dress. I love it!

Gwyneth Paltrow looks immaculate in this black cut-out, halter Stella McCartney gown. Beautiful yet understated.

Ferocious! Alicia Keys keep it simple yet structured with this Alexandre Vauthier LBD. LOVE the hair!

I love Kelly Osbourne‘s glittery champagne gown by Tony Ward. Believe it or not, I actually like Paris Hilton‘s embroidered Basil Soda gown.

Jessie J toned down her kooky dressing with this ilver Julien Macdonald dress. And, Corinne Bailey Rae is ready to party in this tulle frock from Christian Siriano’s Fall 2011 collection.

Review: MTV’s House of Style

Everyone’s buzzing about the revival of MTV‘s House of Style featuring Bar Refaeli as host, and Chanel Iman as co-host/correspondent. In case you didn’t know, House of Style initially premiered in 1989 that focussed on America’s fascination with “supermodels”. The original host, Cindy Crawford carved herself a household name with this infamous show. That’s a brief background FYI. I finally caught it on MTV.com and I’ve to say the show looks really promising! The first episode features interviews with teen icon Taylor Swift, fashion designer Erin Featherson, hottie Justin Timberlake and a really awesome D-I-Y section! Here’s what I love about House of Style:

I love the balloons! Bar Refaeli is gorgeous.

A countdown to the Top 10 Most Wanted. I used to make friendship bracelets!

This is the era of D-I-Y. Love this segment!

Are you looking at the prices or something else?

How to be Geek Chic by Chanel Iman.

Learn how to throw a fairytale house party with Erin Featherson.

Food always taste better with hot chefs like these!!!

Bar Refaeli goes backstage at NY Fashion Week with Justin Timberlake.

If you’re interested to catch the shows, here are the four clips that you can watch here.

Red Carpet: Grammy Awards 2009

It’s time to honor the music genius of the year. All eyes are on Adele, the 20-year old British singer who beat Duffy to the battle for Best New Artist. And, Jennifer Hudson won her first Grammy Award for Best R&B Album – it’s good for her to have some positivity in her life right now. Let’s check out the head-turners at the red carpet of the biggest music event of year:

Adele had the honor of Anna Wintour styling her for the Grammys. Guess what? This cute singer won both Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for “Chasing Pavements” and Best New Artist! It’s time to put her under the Fash-E radar.

Nobody rocks vintage like Zooey Deschanel. Her lilac floral dress stood out as she coupled her vintage outfit with a “bejeweled hair clip, satin clutch, and peep toe pumps”.

Fresh from winning a Grammy, Jennifer Hudson sported a “sculptural, colorblock cocktail-length dress”. It’s interesting – I think it actually compliments her curvy figure. What do you think?

Hurrah to Hollywood glamour! Katy Perry looks pretty in pink chiffon Basil Soda gown. I think it’s pretty interesting twist without looking too OTT.

Taylor Swift is a really gorgeous girl. Her choice of this black Grecian-inspired Kaufman Franco gown is modern and sophisticated. It’s a safe but awesome pick.

I’m not a fan of The Hills. BUT, Audrina Patridge looks lovely in this teal silk jersey Tadashi gown with a bow clutch. Love the hairdo as well!

Country superstar, Carrie Underwood sparkled in this embellished gold gown by Zuhair Murad. I guess she’s going for the gold tonight hurr? It’s beautiful, for sure.
